Truly an introvert, Brighteye didn't enjoy the nursery much and often snuck out to explore camp by herself. She found the nursery too crowded and loud and, especially when she was a younger kit and hated the rough-and-tumble games that were played in the small space. Each day she longed more and more to be apprenticed early as she believed that she would have been capable, even at the age of 3 or 4 moons. Being alone is where she feels best, whether it's a solo hunt or a walk to her favourite place - the Pine Grove.

She is always the last and least willing to share an opinion and will only speak if she deems it necessary. At times she can be cold and distant, but it helps her focus when she rarely has to worry about other cats, and to keep a calm and level head. Brighteye's protective side is one that can only latch on to one cat at a time, until kits come into her life: first her brother Frozenpaw and then (after the dog attack) Mistypaw, later Mistyfalcon. Once a cat has earned that place in her heart, she will constantly want to ensure their safety and happiness.

In social situations, Brighteye tends to comes across as awkward and strangely quiet. She may love being alone, but her social skills have suffered from it. Conversations with her often result in extended periods of silence where she makes no effort. Her affection for other cats may not be obvious, but she cares about them deep below the surface. Overtime, more and more cats manage to worm their way into this position in her heart, leaving her with the unfamiliar experience of caring for more that one cat at a time's safety.

= APPEARANCE =

At first glance, Brighteye almost looks like a ghost. Her bright white pelt and long limbs give her the ghostly feel, along with her usual silence. Mismatched eyes add to her fairly unusual appearance for a ShadowClan cat, and can sometimes make her feel even more unsettling. Inherited from her grandfather Icegaze, her right eye is a very pale blue and the other is a yellowish-gold colour.

Short and bristly fur often leaves her shivering in the colder leafbares, but she sees it as a blessing in the warmer greenleafs. A largish scar crosses her shoulder and side, along with a much smaller one above her blue eye (they are both from the same encounter with Twig). Four teeth marks show on her leg, created by a raccoon, and the claws of an owl dealt her another smaller but deeper scar on her back.

Plot(s): entanglements, welcome to the arcane asylum [sitewide]

History: Brighteye was born Brightkit to Irispetal and Greysky, with her littermate Frozenkit. Brightkit was always the strongest of the two, and often pushed herself to live life for her sickly brother. When she got her apprentice name, she was assigned Emberspark as a mentor, and although very different in personality, Brightpaw was eager to know and learn everything from her new mentor. However, before her warrior ceremony, Emberspark was killed, less than a moon before he would witness his apprentice complete her training. Soon after this, Brighteye's parents and brother were attacked by foxes, with her parents dying almost instantly and Frozenpaw dying days later from his wounds. In the midst of this, Brighteye had to learn how to be warrior on her own, and how to understand her own feelings. These 'feelings' arose for her friend, Mistypaw, after he was mauled by a dog. Unfortunately for Brighteye, she had already decided that her first love, Crowpaw, would be the one she would stick with in her mind, believing at first that feelings could be as uncomplicated as that. This mentality, however, soon fell to pieces when she confessed her feelings for Mistyfalcon, not long before she met her own end at the jaws of a dog.

Wisteriabloom is honest, vain and has many insecurities that may not be obvious at first. She hates being made fun of or judged, and will do almost anything to get out of trouble. Her parents spoil her with attention, which has causes her to become very vain about her appearance and frightened of being left out or left behind. Always aware of how she comes off on other cats, she will only purposely offend if she is provoked (which sometimes happens unfortunately easily), and usually behaves differently around cats who have authority over her, especially as a kit and apprentice. Brutally honest in every way possible, Wisteriabloom will tell anyone exactly what she thinks, feelings aside. Having a very 'every man for themselves' attitude, she is always surprised when someone stands up for someone else, as it is something she would probably never do. She tells everything how it is, and (ironically) thinks that her honesty is needed to ground her clanmates so they don't become too big-headed.

As she is a cat who cares a lot about her appearance, Wisteriabloom's thick silver tabby pelt is almost always clean. Her clan's fishy diet also helps with her long fur being particularly shiny. She has a fairly large build, with strong legs and webbed pawpaws to help her swimming. White fur covers her neck, underbelly and muzzle, with light silver tabby markings on her face. Even though she seems like a Maine Coon, with her large size and fluffy fur, only one of her parents is one, as the other is smaller with shorter fur. Her eyes are a light yellowish-green.

Main Traits: Optimistic + Proud + Diligent + Determined + Empathetic

Primroselight is fiercely optimistic, loyal and caring. She loves her family and can sometimes overlook her loved one's faults as she cares so much about them. Positivity radiates off her and can rub off onto even the most cold-hearted cats. Always happy to help, Primroselight will assist anyone, whether they are hunting, patrolling or gathering, and cares a lot about every cat, SkyClan or not.However, as her vision decreased, she lost a lot of self-esteem, and became very touchy and defensive if someone tried to offer her help or treat her differently. It is something she tends to keep under the surface, however, and will push her worries aside very quickly to comfort a loved one. Overtime, Primroselight had become used to hiding her feelings and forcing herself to appear like her usual happy self.
Even though she is sweet, she has an immense sense of pride. Whether it's pride in her work, in herself, in her family or in clan, it's strong and clear. She'll try and hide her feelings of someone insults her, but anything that hurts her pride hurts her. When she isn't embarrassed, she'll stand tall and proud for everyone to see. However, it doesn't make her annoying or rude in any way. Sometimes her ambitions are high, but she knows that if she works hard enough she could probably achieve them. She isn't afraid of toil, and will work herself to the ground if necessary.

♡ APPEARANCE ♡

Everything about Primroselight's appearance is non-threatening: from her soft, Kittypet-like pelt to her gentle features and kind voice. Despite having a rather large father and a long-haired mother, she is average sized with her father's short pelt. This makes her the smallest of her littermates, and gives her parents more of a reason to baby her. Her pelt is soft cream, coming to slightly darker points on her face, paws and a tail with tabby stripes. She has sweet, blue-green eyes that don't necessarily look blind.However, to try and seem 'normal' she tries her best to make eye contact with whoever she's talking to, but a lot of the time fails miserably. Sometimes (when the light hits it in the right direction), she can catch glimpses of the river and other things that sparkle (like the moonstone or river). What she can/can't see is based off this video.
She has one medium-sized scar that runs from her right haunch up diagonally, caused by a goose attack.

As a kit, Dapplekit was a mischievous and was always in trouble. Nothing she did was truly bad, as she only did it for laughs. However, after the accident, she became more cautious and a little less willing to throw herself head-first into adventure. Eventually, she regained her carefree(ish) attitude. She has matured greatly, takes life a little slower, but still had her sense of humour Dappleleaf enjoys being in crowded places full of interesting cats and other bustling social situations. Rightfully named, Dappleleaf has a mottled pelt of creams, browns and white. Her pelt is short and thick, unlike her late mother's. Overall, she must look like her father, as her and her mother look nothing alike. She has a slightly-smaller-than-average build, good for ThunderClan's forested territory.
When you first meet her, she will smile at you cheerfully, but the smile won't always reach her eyes. After many seasons, the scarring that came with her twisted paw has mostly disappeared, apart from a few larger ones on her leg and ankle. She walks with a fairly bad limp but over the years she has learned to work through it. Most cats walking with her tend to walk slower than normal, especially now her muscles have stiffened with age. A few grey hairs are spotted across her muzzle and legs, making her white chest area more prominent.

Plot(s): welcome to the arcane asylum [sitewide]

History: Dappleleaf was born to Fernsway, a warrior of ThunderClan, many seasons ago. However, she passed very quickly and never shared who her real father was. She was adopted by Featherstep and Alderpatch, two toms who ended up adopting lots of other orphaned kits. Once, she was on a patrol as an apprentice and the group was attacked by two dogs. During the fight, Dappleleaf's paw was caught in the dog's mouth, and it was severely injured, never to heal (some dapple backstory). Whilst recovering in the medicine den, she had a brief period of time where she considered becoming a medicine cat. But this was before she realised that she couldn't stand the sight or scent of blood or serious injuries. She did manage to live a normal life as a warrior, eventually becoming mates with a kit hood best friend Doeskip, who passed around two seasons ago. A little after it happened, Dappleleaf realised that she no longer had the strength to properly perform her warrior duties, so she retired to the elder's den. She may be a cheerful cat on the outside, but the loss of her mate has caused her to struggle a lot with her mental health, so she truly isn't the same as she used to be. Time will be the best medicine for her, but she might need some help to get her emotions back on track.

Mishka has always been a follower and never a leader. She will do anything to stay on the good side of someone, as long as it doesn't conflict with orders already given to her. Even though she is interested in befriending and helping the clan cats, she struggles to understand why any cat wouldn't want to be ruled by the Asylum. Afterall, they saved her, so surely everyone the conquer should be grateful. Her life before the Asylum was difficult, and now it is (or at least she keeps telling herself) better. She is unusually content with her current position as a Pelt Ward, as she feels like she owes everything to the Nightstrikers, so happily serves them. For now, she is young and naive to the risks of everything.

Partly the cause of being a pelt ward, Mishka is very small. Her short legs carry little muscle, and her light weight makes her struggle to pin other cats down. She has a bob tail, which puffs out a little, appearing almost like a rabbit's. Brown tabby fur, slightly mottled with orange, covers her small frame, with a small white patch on her chest. Her eyes are round, innocent and bright green. The rest of her features are quite small, giving her a very baby-faced look, even though she is full grown. Like many of her group, she wears an animal pelt, specifically a rabbit's.

History: As soon as Mishka was deemed 'able to hunt for herself,' her parents abandoned her. She was naturally small and weak, especially compared to her powerful littermates. Unable to feed or care for herself, she was on the brink of death when she was discovered by some Asylum scouts, one of which was Edie, who sort of adopted her. She barely remembers her biological family, but constantly thinks about how they left her. This partly provides her undying loyalty to the group that saved her. Even when the same thing happened to her again - she was to weak to be anything more than a Pelt Ward - she took it gratefully. When Mishka took the test to place her into her faction, she was yet to recover from her abandonment, leaving her in the lowest rank. For now, she doesn't care, and feels as if she owes everything to her new family. She is still young, yet to experience the crueler side of the Asylum; the part that wrecks lives and kills cats.

Yew desperately wants recognition and approval from the cats he sees as important (mostly his parents). He will stop at nothing to impress them and get them to notice him, going to extremes to get what he wants, including making himself unhappy and causing harm to others. At first, he cares a lot for his littermates, and wants them to succeed with him. But as soon as looking after them begins to get in his way, he is happy to leave them alone and to fend for themselves.
When he was old enough, he was assigned to Thunderclan as a Standard. He wishes he could be in Skyclan, but to him, at least Thunderclan in closer than Windclan or Shadowclan. Now that he is away from them, he is only realising now how much he misses his littermates and mother. When he has nothing to work towards, and no-one to impress, Yew finds himself lost. Everything needs an end goal for him, and at the moment he is searching for one.

Yew is a tall tortoiseshell tom, almost matching his father in height when full grown, but slimmer shouldered. He has amber eyes and typically Skyclan rough paw-pads, inherited from his paternal side. Mostly, he matches his mother in markings, even if the colours of his are bolder and darker. Like many Asylum members, he will only occasionally wear his animal pelt, which is of a dark red fox. Since he only sometimes wears it, he doesn't put the extra effort in to decorate it, so it is just the bare minimum.

〖 PERSONALITY 〗

Main Traits: Goofy + Optimistic + Sensitive + Loyal + Empathetic

No matter how hard he tries, Muddythorn is a faliure at everything. Hunting? Sure! Will he put armfulls of effort in? Yes. But will he succeed? Well, usually no. If he is lucky enough to catch the prey, it will be a sloppy catch that he nearly looses. He tries to stay positive, and usually just thinks that he'll 'try again tomorrow.' He's lovable a sweet, but his incompetent nature leaves his companions a little annoyed at times. Not so deep down, Muddythorn is very fragile. If someone pokes fun at him, he'll crumble to pieces. He's a loyal warrior, but sometimes wonders if his paws may belong on a different path. His family and clan are everything to him, and he'll protect them with all he has - he couldn't even imagine loosing one of them.

Primroselight panicked slightly when she discovered that his sight isn't amazing. He often struggles seeing things that are further away, but after a lot of work with his mother, he has learnt that it doesn't really need to make a difference to his hunting.

〖 APPEARANCE 〗

Muddythorn's dark brown pelt is extremely fluffy - if you tried to stroked him, your hand would probably get lost. His fur is at its longest and thickest on his body, neck and tail, where it is also lighter. On the other hand, his head and legs have much darker, shorter fur on them. Unusual for a SkyClan cat, he has very stocky build accompanied by short legs which do, however, have strong haunches, a trait of his clan. A little on the heavier side as well, her has a sweet portly appearance.

His face is almost always adorned with a cheerful, goofy smile that lights up his yellow eyes with happiness. Prone to tripping and slipping, his pelt is often dirty, but you can't really tell due to the colour of it. His fur does thin out a little in the warmer moons, but stays fairly thick all year round.

Mistlebright is generally quite a happy cat, never really taking notice of when others don't completely understand what she says. Much like her namesake, Magpiesight enjoys collecting little trinkets, which she is extremely protective of. Sometimes these things are stolen from other cats, but she'd just skilfully deny it if anyone accused her. Her mother's constant doting has lead her to expect attention, and doesn't tend to worry about having to earn it, but is also the queen of the death glare. If you cross her, you will be faced with the worst stink eye known to the clans. As she grows up, she becomes a bit of a serial romantic, enjoying the attention and the love. In general, other cats always get on Magpiepaw's nerves, and she can sometimes have quite a short temper. She'd not exactly a follower of rules, but has more of a 'they apply to everyone but me' mindset. Along with this, she tends to believe that no matter what she does, if she apologises for it, then everything is fixed up and no more blame can be placed on her.
She generally tends to be very self-preserving when it comes to her reputation and status, but when it comes to her physical health, she can be reckless, and not the type to think things through before she does it.

Aoife can hold a grudge like there's no tomorrow, and chooses to be smart about getting revenge. While she has the size (and later the fighting skills) to take down or at least intimidate almost anyone, she'd rather wait for the perfect moment. Often she comes across as secretive, and even though she's fine with making conversation, most personal questions bounce back and she won't give a straight answer. Her plans, although sometimes for trivial things, especially as a kit, stay close to her chest. She believes she can achieve what she wants without help. Deceptively good at playing a part, few cats get close to the real her. Those who do are mostly family, and yet she refuses to show quite how much she cares for those she loves. Aoife's pelt is most like her grandmother Smokefeather's, but with more prominent white and cream patches that cover most of her chest and belly and a mostly grey back. She also inherited the large build from her father's side of the family, and the bright green eyes. At first she just seems tall and slim, but her long pelt hides lean muscle as she grows and trains.

Many of her scars are hidden by thick pelt, except for two large claw marks that run diagonally across her face and muzzle, barely missing her eye when they were dealt.

With a small build, she can easily slip away into the shadows, or weave between cats.

Finchpaw can come across snappy or short-tempered often the first to pick a fight with someone in the wrong, but cares deeply about his whole clan, even if he struggles to show it. In truth, although he can get angry quite easily and has a bit of a tendency to unnecessarily shout, he's really a big softy. His love for organisation means he is an avid follower and enforcer of rules, but can usually bend with enough convincing. A strategist at heart, he would much rather be behind the front lines preparing the clan's next move that be in the centre of the fight, even though if a loved one is in danger he will jump in without a second thought. His confident air shatters completely in the face of those he admires, leaving him struggling to put his emotions into words. Growing up with a large and tight-knit family, he loves kits and plans on having many of his own as a warrior.

He puts a lot of effort into trying to be a good cat, and at first strongly believes the only way to do this is by following/enforcing the rules. However, he might one day have to realise that the code isn't perfect, and break the rules in order to help another. Finchpaw also has a serious tendency to talk to himself, which he becomes self-conscious of when he gets older.

Main Traits: Organised + Irascible + Controlling + Ambitious + Affectionate

Brindlepaw tends to have a very short temper when it comes to other cats, easily getting frustrated when they don't listen to her or follow her rules and plans. Her over-controlling nature also results in her being a strict follower of rules, but not necessarily those of the Warrior Code, as she is not afraid to discard any that don't align with what she wants to do. However, at the end of the day Brindlepaw only wants the best for her loved ones, and is very affectionate with those she has a soft spot for, and will steer them back onto her plan in a much more gentle way.

As she ages, Brindlepaw's ambition and perfectionism can be easily mistaken for dissatisfaction with her peers. Although she doesn't intend to, her constant want for improvement of herself and others may be misconstrued into others believing that nothing is good enough for her, because she always strives to make it better.

Brindlepaw's coat, much like her name, is flecked black and ginger tortoiseshell, although black fur dominates the majority of her body. The most significant ginger patches are on the right side of her face and shoulder, where faint orange tabby lines are also visible. She also has faint flecks of white around her muzzle and belly, and three white paws. Her eyes are a pale green colour.

Violetsky is the epitome of a pathological people-pleaser. In most cases, she will do whatever is asked of her without batting an eye, which although makes her very amiable, she is also easily taken advantage of. She is also pretty much physically unable to break rules because of how anxious it makes her. Furthermore, Violetsky is extremely empathetic and although she may see the fault in another's actions, she will very quickly justify what they have done in one way or another. All of this, however, results in her not really having a sense of self, as she becomes whatever someone wants and not what she actually is. Violetsky is very appreciative of the small beautiful things in life, and is always sure to point them out to others when they're having a bad day. She also finds other cats and their stories entirely fascinating, and is eager to understand how others view the world due to their past experiences.

Violetsky has striking pale blue eyes and is mostly white with small dark brown and grey patches. Her back and sides fade to a very pale brownish-grey, with a dark brown patch at the base of her tail. Her front two legs fade in a series of patches from dark brown to predominately white, which takes over around her knee height. Courtesy of her kittypet mother, her pelt is soft and whispy, and easily gets tangled and left on tree branches despite it being quite short. She is slightly smaller than the average Skyclan cat.
