Golden Sparks[Open after kits post]

OOC: Skipping all the birthing processes since it's not exactly appropriate. Also, since Flamekit's creation never got approved and Taro doesn't seem to be active, he will not be mentioned here.

Goldenfern curled around the two kits suckling at her belly. Her throat was dry and her head pounded. The kits couldn't have come at a worst time. The death of her brother and her adopted daughter still haunted her dreams, and her mate had passed not too long ago, bitten by an adder while hunting here snakerocks. She would have to find a way to pull herself together now to care for the two perfect kits beside her.

The golden tabby peered down at her kits. One was a ginger-and-white tabby, while the other was a tortoiseshell. Both looked like a combination of both her and Finchtalon. As much as she would have loved to name one of them after Sunfire or Honeypaw, it didn't feel right to force her grief on her own kits. Her tail brushed against the smaller of the two. "Brindlekit," Goldenfern whispered fondly. "And Hickorykit," She added, licking the tabby and white gently. Her two perfect kits.

The tortoiseshell kit lay swaddled in her mother's warmth, entirely unaware of the world she had just been born into. Her name was given to her, a reflection of her flecked black and ginger pelt and yet she remained entirely ignorant to it, with no idea of the grief her mother was overflowing with as she spoke her name for the first time. But there was one thing she did know - that she was, in fact perfect, just like her mother said. Something she knew and would never forget.

“They’re beautiful, Goldenfern,” Blazefang purred, gazing at her newly born grandchildren. “And I promise, I’ll be here if you ever need help with them. You did so well! Kitting isn’t easy but I think you can see now why it’s worth it. Aww, welcome baby girls!”

Goldenfern purred softly as Blazefang rushed to congradulate her. It brought her much comfort to think that despite everything she had lost, her closest kin was still right by her side. "Thank you," she whispered.
