Filling the Gap [Closed for now]

Calypso had let out a long sigh as soon as she arrived to the barn, much later than the rest of her siblings because something had come up, but still she was back, and relief flooded her system. Of course things weren't over.. The order was down an Eagle, and it was up to the Overseers to choose a new one.. Would they pick her? Or were the other two more fit for the position..? She didn't know.. It was time for the order to change that was for certain. Morningstar had made his choice, Skyclan over them.

The gold and white rogue looked around the barn taking in the order.. Thorns.. She felt so bad. Finally she found who she was looking for. "Ana, Aoife we need to talk." She called to the other two. She didn't know how this was going to go, but she only hoped the order would come out better because of it.

While Tarot would've preferred to follow behind Morningstar back to Skyclan, he knew they had to fill in the gap of leadership in the Forgotten Order, and he had a responsibility to do so as their second leader. His old friend had left after the gathering, clearly showing that his reign as Eagle was at an end. Of course, the ex-loner hardly held him against that, perhaps he was even envious that he no longer had to stay in one place.

After all, only witnessing a fragment of history was rather dull. Still, he'd be sure their legacy lived on.

He watched as the last member showed up, another cat he had named, ironically the daughter of Morningstar. An odd coincidence, he thought, having named two cats of the same bloodline. No matter, the time to choose a new leader was swiftly coming. Whoever filled in the role could either keep him as the Serpent or choose a new one. The latter choice would be best, as trust between the two leaders had to be as strong as possible, but due to their small numbers, the former made just as much sense. Either way, he'd accept whatever choice, after all, he prided himself in adaptability.

As the tomcat sat observing it all, he'd wait for everyone to gather their bearings before he'd give them the rundown of what needed to happen here, and how the Forgotten Order should move with the upcoming dark future. During that gathering, he saw many potential recruits. Strife within the clans would inevitably breed those who were cast out, or felt they no longer belonged. The perfect opportunity to strengthen the numbers of the Order.

"Gather your bearings, everyone, there is much to be discussed." He spoke, patient as he gazed up at the brightening sky.

Aoife couldn't wipe the image of Smokefeather's lifeless body from her mind, no matter how hard she tried. She purposely had kept herself busy, trying to hunt after realizing how long it had been since she'd last eaten, but was too easily distracted by her own thoughts. After his decision to stay with Skyclan, she felt betrayed by her father, but knew better than to say anything. At least here, in the barn, those living shadows were no longer at every turn. That was for the clans to deal with now.

When Calypso called her name, Aoife's ears pricked up. "Of course," she gave the gold and white she-cat a nod before following. This was clearly about the lack of an Eagle, and the guard was torn between what she thought should happen. In some ways, she wished that this conversation wasn't necessary, and Klaus was still leader. However, after seeing what he dared do in Skyclan camp to his own family, Aoife wasn't sure that he wanted her to be the one looking out for her kin.

Ana's head lifted from where she had wandered over to the rabbit she had so carefully caught for her father, mourning the fact that he would never taste it. Klaus.... Or Morningstar, as he called himself now, was dead, and now he was gone. Living among the clan cats he had claimed to hate. Didn't he love them? If he did, then why did he abandon them for cats he hated? Thoughts ran through her head, blending together, when the voice had suddenly cut through. "Yeah, sure." She mewed, turning away from the rabbit to step towards Aoife and Calypso.

Calypso looked at the cats that had gathered to her side at her call. Tarot, Aoife, and Anastasia.. "I'm sure you already heard the news, or saw it at the gathering while we were in attendance.. As much as I have..." She didn't know the word for it. Questions.. Concerns.. Anger.. She was experiencing many things at the moment. "Questions.. about our father's actions, the order must continue on." She said.

"Which means we need to select a new Eagle. If you wish it, then I will take his spot, or one of you two could take his spot. I will support your choice either way." The gold and white she-cat said. "Just know that regardless of what happens, I won't leave you guys, or the order."

The tomcat rose a brow as the younger feline immediately started to try and take some level of charge over the situation, seemingly rather level-headed about it all. At her words, though, he tilted his head.

"Originally, Klaus and I intended for new Eagles to be chosen through voting, and new Snakes would be chosen by the Eagle voted in, if they so wished. Seeing as how we don't have all our members here at the moment, I think it'd be unwise to immediately rush to choose someone for the position. After all, it may cause internal strife if the general consensus for who would take Morningstar's place isn't in all fairness." He tilted his head, looking at her idly, "Internal conflict during this time may be rather dangerous. While filling the power gap is important for stability, just tossing someone in without those still wishing to stay in the Order knowing could make things worse."

He glanced away, looking over the handful of cats descended from his old friend, "But, as I said, choosing a new Eagle is done through voting, so you could indeed be voted in if you wish to take the role. Stating your case, your intents for the future of this order could assist in gaining favour and votes." He sighed, "Though Overseers were also originally planned to be unable to become Eagle unless they stepped down from their role and chose a predecessor. Due to our low numbers though, that would be a rather counterproductive rule to try and uphold."

The feline frowned, "I would've preferred to allow the Order more time to grow before we had to choose a new Eagle, but it seems life had other things planned for us. Terribly bothersome. All in all, though, I suggest trying to gather everyone before hasty decisions are made, no? I will attempt to organize everything for at least a semi-proper choosing of Eagle" He glanced over at Calypso, quirking a brow.

He would be taking more command of the situation, but he hardly had any stakes in the Order, these younger cats would be the future of it, so they needed to have a good amount of control over what would become of it, no?

Aoife nodded slowly at her sister's words, and almost said something before stopping herself. To be fair, Calypso was the older than her and her siblings, and the guard did carry a level of respect for the she-cat. However, part of her wanted to take this opportunity. What better way could she protect her family than lead them? But did she really want that responsibility? Luckily for her, Tarot spoke before Aoife had the chance to voice her muddled feelings on the situation. "I agree with Tarot - there aren't many of us, so we'll probably be fine without leadership for a short time as we sort out a way to do it properly." Everything would've been easier if Klaus hadn't left them. Part of her couldn't help but think he never really cared for the Order, and just wanted someone to rule over to pretend it was Skyclan. He had his clan now, so where was the Order's place?
