Violetpaw's Warrior Ceremony

There was excitement to Wolfblossom's step as she approached the tallbranch. It had been some time since the disaster of a gathering, and her side still ached, her ears still rang something fierce... But Skyclan would be okay. They would continue to thrive. And today, there was something important to do. She had spoken with Graywind about her progress, and it was time for a new warrior among Skyclan's ranks.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!"

Violetpaw had been slightly on edge after the disaster of the gathering, so was concerned at first when Wolfblossom called a clan meeting. However, one glance and the deputy's cheerful face soothed the apprentice, hoping that whatever was to come would be good news. Maybe one of the many kits in the nursery was being made an apprentice today, making Violetpaw smile at the memory of her own ceremony.

It wasn't long before the clan gathered before her. Wolfblossom winced at the worried look on the apprentice's face when she appeared, but it seemed that was short lived. Whatever had her on edge seemed to dissipate as their gaze met. Hopefully, what came next would bring the soon-to-be-former apprentice some joy.

"Violetpaw, step forward." She smiled down at the apprentice, waiting a moment for her to do so before continuing. "I, Wolfblossom, deputy of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Violetpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Violetpaw was very taken aback when the deputy addressed her, but immediately stepped forward at Wolfblossom's words. So this was it. Have I actually done it? Prima's gonna be so proud, I hope she knows how much she's helped me. She thought as she listened to the sacred words of the ceremony. "I do." The apprentice replied without hesitation, knowing it was what she was meant to say. But her lack of thought didn't render the words meaningless - she intended everything behind those simple to words, no matter how fast they had come out.

The reply came without hesitation, and Wolfblossom hoped Violetpaw would not have to follow through on those words for a long time, or even at all. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Violetpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Violetsky. Starclan honors your empathy and attentiveness and we welcome you as a full warrior of Skyclan."

The deputy leaped from the tallbranch, padding up to the newly-named warrior. "We haven't spoken, but I watch. I know you've worked hard for this." She mewed, "Congratulations, and may your vigil tonight be an uneventful one." With that, the deputy moved back swiftly, retreating so that their clanmates could offer their congratulations... And maybe to get away from the noise of cats cheering. The ringing in her head seemed to want to cheer along with her clanmates. Loudly.

"Violetsky! Violetsky!" Graywind purred as her apprentice earned her full name. It hadn't been all that long ago where her own warrior ceremony felt like it was far away, but now her own apprentice had earned hers. "She's right," Graywind approached just in time to hear Wolfblossom's words to Violetsky, "You've worked hard, and earned this."

Violetsky, despite her new name, was still in a state of disbelief and shock. "T-thank you." She said to Wolfblossom, before her attention was quickly diverted to her mentor - ex mentor. "Thanks Graywind, and what can I say, I had an amazing mentor." She laughed, and then there were more and more cats coming to congratulate her. It was far more attention than the new warrior had ever received at once, but she found she wasn't exactly adverse to it, not when their words were all positive congratulations.
