Though the snow was deep, Hyacinth and two of her kits trudged through it in search of whatever prey they might be able to snag their claws on. With so many of their ranks sustaining at the very least minor injuries from their battle with ShadowClan, prey was in high demand, and those who’d been the least injured needed to make up for what time and energy had been lost. Hyacinth’s wounds had kept her confined to camp for a little while, but she needed to show up and be there for her family, and for the Order. Though the wounds tugged and pulled at her pelt, she made her way through the snowy winds, keeping Aoife and Aphrodite close enough that she could aid them if they were to need it. Unfortunately she hadn’t been able to pick up on the scent of any prey yet, but hopefully her luck would change soon. She and the Forgotten Order sorely needed it.

Prey was most certainly hard to come by, and with so many order members still injured after the fight with Shadowclan, less were willing to hunt on clan territory. Trespassing just led to fights, which led to the reopening of old wounds and infliction of new ones. Aoife padded alongside her mother and sister in the snow, glad Hyacinth had suggested the idea. Although the hunters were in charge of prey collection, the guard still enjoyed going out sometimes, whether it be alone or with others. It gave her time to clear her head, and focus just on the task at hand instead of anything else.

She was very alert for prey, bringing her towards the scent of mouse. Excited at a sign of prey, she investigated further, only to be left disappointed when she discovered an abandoned burrow, saved from the snow but empty as ever. Trying not to be disheartened, she spoke to her mother, "Ma, what did everything look like before the snow? How much easier was it to catch prey?" Aoife had never known warm weather, and, although well-trained, was still young and curious at heart.
