Changes [FO Hunt]

So his mate had claimed the barn eh? Good for her! He almost expected to see Theron here regardless, as the patrols were thin and spread out for now. Klaus walked into the barn with some members of the order in tow. He had no doubt that plenty of rodents had taken refuge here, especially since the scent of cat was no longer as strong. And what a perfect spot to take shelter the night before an invasion on Windclan. He would make note of this with the rest of the Forgotten Order soon. Today however, he was simply here to hunt... or try. His left eye had only cloudy shadows visible in it now. He'd have to learn to hunt and fight without it working to it's full capability.

He could hear several mice in the straw. He crouched down low and began to stalk forward. He leaped once he thought the distance between himself and the mouse moving under the straw was reasonable... was he right? No... he wasn't. Klaus crashed onto the straw and sent mice scattering in all directions, his claws empty.

"Foxdung! Don't let them get away!" He told the other members of the Order. Hopefully they'd catch something... because he certainly did not.

Taking the Barn had been a success for Hyacinth and the Forgotten Order, but keeping it in check would be an entirely different ordeal. It wasn’t particularly close to where they resided, making it more… Interesting to get patrols to and from their newly claimed territory. They’d make it work, though- this would be a major source of food for them. Following closely behind Klaus, Hyacinth nodded as he worked closer and closer to the straw, grimacing as he missed and sent straw and mice in every direction. She made an attempt to leap toward one of the scurrying little creatures, but came back empty pawed. They were just too fast, and they knew it was life or death.

As both of his parents had seemed to fail in catching the mice around them, Aether knew he needed to chase some down as well. It wasn't even about impressing them, as it might have been in the past. Being a hunter, the tom had merely grown into his role, and it seemed as though it was second nature to him, much like Battle was to Ares, for example.

As the mice scattered, Aether locked onto one, and began his chase. But the plethora of prey that appeared had not fallen to the eyes of the cats alone. A piercing cry had sounded just above the hunting felines, and a barn owl flew down, talons extended as it swooped down for one of the mice. Suddenly, the mice did not seem as important. Imagine the bellies this bird could fill!

With a mighty leap, Aether landed on top of the owl, using his weight to try to bring it to the ground and hold it's wings down with his paws. Desperate eyes flashed to the others hunting. He needed help, and hopefully, they would come.

Aether tried to hunt a mouse, but summoned a predator! -7 SP

Aether used leap and hold on barn owl, dealing 8 damage and costing 15 stamina. Owl is pinned for 1 turn!

An owl apparently had to gal to.... well be here... Now it was going to pay the price. Klaus watched as Aether pinned it to one spot and he wasted no time. He charged in and sank his teeth into the bird, barely missing it's neck due to a last minute wing flail that wiggled it's body around. The bird would be finished off in no time... and it would make a much nicer meal than a mouse anyhow.

Torn had followed along with the others to hunt in the barn. She still felt a pang of hurt knowing that she failed to capture this barn the first time, but at least they had it now. The gold and white she-cat slunk around the edge of the barn not minding the owl. Her father was on top of it. It wouldn't take long for them to kill it. Maybe she could use the action to catch one of the fleeing mice. She tried to catch one of them, but it slipped right through her paws. Thorns.. she would have to try again.

Aoife trailed at the back of the group as they headed towards the barn, mostly going just to inspect the new territory. If anything ever happened to their camp, chances were that they would end up living here, even if it was for a short while, and so it would be good to scout it out. She could check which areas would make good spots for nests, and where to get materials, whilst she hunted. The group's hunt was abruptly interrupted by and owl swooping down for the same mice the cats were hunting. But this would make much better prey than mice. She slashed at the bird's wing with her claws, making sure it wouldn't be able to fly away too quickly. This owl didn't stand a chance.
