Streamtail bolted up instantly as sunlight poured into the warriors den. It was time for her to train her newest apprentice, Wisteriapaw. Knowing Wisteriapaw’s personality, she knew to be sterner if the quick-tempered apprentice would ever get into trouble. Poking her head into the apprentice’s den, her emerald gaze found the pelt of her apprentice, and Streamtail padded over before nudging her with her unusually long tail. “Wisteriapaw? Wake up, it’s time for training. Ill meet you by the fresh-kill pile if you want to eat anything.” With that being said, Streamtail withdrew her head from the entrance of the den and walked over to the pile of food, picking out a fish and starting to eat. They would need a lot of energy from training today.

Wisteriapaw rose drowsily out of her new nest at the sound of Streamtail's voice. I'm an apprentice now! She thought. "I'm coming Streamtail!" Leaping up, she made her way across to the fresh-kill pile, selected a small fish from a patrol the day before, and swallowed it quickly. "What are we doing today? Am I going to learn how to hunt fish?" struggling to contain her excitement, she hurried towards the camp entrance.

((Sure! No battle then? It’ll help with the req! Also, do you know the hunting system?))

Streamtail smiled. “Sure! If you want, that is. I’m also going to teach you how to hunt some land prey, since we can’t always rely on fish the whole time.” With that said, she flicked her tail, beckoning Wisteriapaw to follow her towards the river. When they arrived at the riverbank, she dropped into a position similar to the hunting crouch, except leaning more forward and with a paw inside the river. “Okay, so, if you would copy me, that would be great!” Streamtail waited for a bit until her apprentice got into the same position. “Alright. Hold your paw like you’re trying to grab something. Then...when you feel something slippery...” Just as she said that, Streamtail felt something slippery and scaley slide across her forepaw. Grinning in excitement, she hooked her claws into the fish. Tossing it onto the riverbank, the fish flopped and gasped for air, gills opening and closing. Streamtail bashed it’s head violently with a forepaw and watched as it stopped moving. “You can either bite it on the neck, or hit it on the head like I did. I prefer this one because it’s less messy. After killing your prey, you should dig a hole in the ground and bury it so we can get it back later.” With that said, the blue-gray warrior dug a small hole into the riverbank and buried it again. “Now, you try.”

Streamtail used 3 SP to catch a fish. Catch was...successful!

"Wow!" She said after seeing Streamtail's catch. Wisteriapaw crouched carefully next to her mentor, her paw in the river. Then she waited, as she had been instructed too. Suddenly, she felt a fish slip across the pad of her paw, and flicked it upwards. It landed on a nearby rock, and she swiftly hit it on the head. "I did it! My first bit of prey!"

Wisteriapaw used 3 SP to catch a fish. Catch was successful

Streamtail nodded approvingly. “Dig a hole and bury it, we’re moving onto land animals now.” With that said, she walked towards the more green side of the territory, looking back every now and then to see if Wisteriapaw had caught up. Stopping as she scented mouse, Streamtail dropped into a hunting crouch. “Now, this is the crouch we call the hunting crouch. We use this to sneak up on our prey. Be careful not to let your tail drag onto the ground but keep your chest low too.” The blue-gray warrior turned towards the mouse, before silently stalking it, chest low and tail up. When she reached the right distance to pounce, Streamtail slammed her forepaws onto the unfortunate mouse, biting it’s neck before it let out another squeak. Eyes shining with satisfaction, she turned towards Wisteriapaw, before burying her catch yet again. “Now, you try. Don’t worry if you don’t get it the first time!”

Streamtail attempted to catch a mouse. Catch was successful!

After kicking dirt over her catch, Wisteriapaw trotted across the territory, following Streamtail. Then, when smelling something that reminded her of the mice on the fresh-kill pile, and also similar to her mentor's prey, she dropped into a hunting crouch. She was careful not to let her long fur drag on the ground to much, and silently crept towards the scent, lifting her tail slightly in the air. When she caught a glimpse of it ahead of her, she pounced forwards and landed with her claws outstretched, over the mouse. Shoving her muzzle between her paws, she bit into its neck, killing it quickly, but not nearly as cleanly as Streamtail had. She scuffed some dirt over the mouse, and turned to her mentor, "Look I did it!" Realizing she had blood still on her claws, she cleaned it off, and also shook off the small leaves and other things that had gotten caught up in her belly fur.


Wisteriapaw used 3 SP to catch a mouse. Catch was successful

Streamtail smiled at her apprentice proudly. “Great job! Now let’s—“ The last few words died in her tongue as something came lumbering out of the bushes. The goose screeched in fury at the sight of the two cats. The blue-gray warrior froze, before a beak came at her out of nowhere. “Wisteriapaw! LOOK OUT!” Streamtail launched herself at her apprentice, just as the beak missed both of them. Hissing in fury, she straightened and reared up onto her hind legs, slashing at the goose in quick succession. “You. Will. Not. Hurt. Her.” Streamtail yowled, before dropping back onto all fours.

Goose tried to use beak thrust, it failed. Streamtail used Rear up to slash, costing 15 SP and dealing 11 damage
