Brindlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Acornstem barely kept herself from rocking back and forth in pure excitement at the fact that yet another kit was becoming an apprentice - for all the additional work it meant for her, it was still such an exciting moment! Seeing ThunderClan growing so quickly was amazing after all of their trouble in the recent moons - she felt a surge of pride and she knew it would take work to make sure the Clan kept working smoothly but...She would do it! It would be amazing! "Let all of those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Highrock for a clan meeting!" her voice rang out as she straightened up, tail curling around her paws.

The tortoiseshell below couldn't help her gentle chuckle as she saw her deputy's literal swaying excitement. Memories of her first conducted ceremonies seemed to flood in, the way the leader had once shown her own excitement and nerves coursing through her. It seemed those memories resurfaced as she gently kneaded at the ground beneath her paws, as if they were silent war-cries thrumming with life into the camp's floor. There was no need for her to make any comments, but one glance of her amber gaze directly up towards her deputy conveyed both her pride and amusement. Undeniably, a large part of Mottlestar found Acornstem's excitement precious. Something she wanted to protect and continue to nurture.

She'd do her best. Just as whichever mentor was called forth would do their best to nurture their apprentice into a full warrior.

Goldenfern watched from the crowd as her only other daughter, Brindlekit, fur groomed to perfection, marched proudly towards the Highrock. The golden queen pratically glowed with pride, blue eyes shining with joy as if it was her own apprentice ceremony.

Brindlekit bounded into the centre of camp in her mother's wake, excitement fizzing from her as she tried to retain some level of grace. As much as she didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of the clan, finally the day had come for her apprentice ceremony, and the kit waited impatiently, her green eyes fixed on the deputy as her paws moved endlessly in a feeble attempt to control her excitement.

Blazefang, once again sitting by Goldenfern, let out a purr of amusement. “She can’t hold still any better than I did,” the ginger whispered. “That one takes after me.”

"She does," Goldenfern agreed, leaning on her mother's shoulder while her eyes remained fixed on her precious kit's form, so small among the crowd but so much more perfect.

Acornstem cleared her throat as she watched the Clan gather, straightening up to better address them. "I've called you all here to celebrate and honor a kit who is ready to become an apprentice - Brindlekit, please step forward." She waited carefully for the young kit to do so, before she continued on. "Brindlekit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From today until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Brindlepaw. Lichenwing will be your mentor."

"Brindlepaw! Brindlepaw!" Goldenfern cheered out her daughter's name as loudly as she could. Even the stars would hear her cheers if she could help it. The golden she-cat darted forward to lick Brindlepaw between the ears. "I am so proud of you," She whispered, then took a step back for Lichenwing to do his thing. Her kit was officially an apprentice now.

Brindlepaw held her head high as she trotted over to her new mentor, her eyes shining with pride. She heard her mother cheering for her and smiled even wider as she reached to touch noses with Lichenwing. "When do we start?" She asked, hoping it was as soon as possible - if she was going to be the best warrior in the clan, she needed as much of a head start as possible.
