Despite knowing that if the kits had been washed away by the river, they likely would have drowned, Ivystar led her patrol of several cats (including her only present daughter, Bluepaw) out of camp and along the river, keeping her eyes peeled for even the tiniest scrap of fur. If it had been any other situation, she would've lost all hope by now, but this was about kits- her kits, in particular. Hope that she'd find a sopping wet bundle of four kits was the only thing keeping her from storming into SkyClan camp in that very moment- and perhaps she entertained the idea that she could compose herself better than that.

Wisteriabloom, head and heart heavy, followed Ivystar in the search for clue on the kits' location. It was only now that she realised how much Snakekit meant to her. She would do anything to find her. Her nose wasn't the sharpest in the clan, nor were her eyes, but she wanted to be on the front lines of finding the kits. Travelling fairly slowly, her pace came to a complete stop when she felt something underpaw. Hope flickering in her heart, she bent to the ground to inspect the tuft of fur. Could it be a kit's? Upon further inspection, she realised her hopes had been wrong. It was merely from a previously hunted piece of prey, and carried no clues of the whereabouts of the kits. She followed along the riverbank, the hope in her heart still trying to stay strong. She would find Snakekit and the other kits, Ivystar would make sure of that.
