Ever since Basilbloom became a medicine cat I've wanted to do something special with the position that everyone could enjoy in some fashion, and from that idea, I've created this unique plot, which I hope everyone involved in will greatly enjoy! I'm planning to hold this plot over the general time of winter break, so the first phase will be starting within the next week or two. This will give me and hopefully others enough time to do it justice and have some fun! I've already run this by Ripped for some pre-approval, and once I've filled all the slots I will put up an official plot page. For now though, please read this plot outline!
Phase #1
Basilbloom's ambitions have never been a secret to herself; she wants to make a mark on the life of the clans and along the way improve her own clan, though she doesn't really know exactly how she'll do that. However, one night the young medicine cat receives a strange dream, where she sees vague, blurry visions of unknown places. She sees Twolegplace, a vast sunny field, and a patch of unfamiliar flowers. They are a pinkish-purple color and look as if a tiny pinecone is sitting in their center. She also sees in her dream sick cats being given the flower as medicine in various forms (the seeds and sap given to cats with coughs, and poultices made from the leaves and petals spread on wounds), and her dream ends with the same cats appearing healthy and happy. When she wakes up, the dream was so vivid that she can remember every little detail and knows that it was much more than just her imagination. Waking Murkystar, she tells her mother about the dream and tells her that she thinks StarClan wants her to find the flower. Probably after a bit of convincing, Murkystar gives her consent. She also wants to consult the other medicine cats, in case they know anything about the strange plant.
She meets with the other medicine cats and tells them about her dream. They don't know about the flower, it truly being knowledge from StarClan, and Basilbloom announces her plans to lead a group to find the herb. For those who also want to take part in the plot, this would be the point where they agree to search with her. It's not required for every medicine cat to take part, but each clan will have a chance to send representatives with the expedition as long as the leaders give permission. To save time (since I want this plot to happen pretty quickly) if the leaders want to give permission IC they can be present at Basil's meeting with the medicine cats. If not, permission can be confirmed OCC.
Phase #2
The clans involved determined and representatives picked, the patrol meets at Fourtrees to begin their journey. The patrol will have 10 members in total if each clan chooses to participate, and this will be the topic for them all to meet each other and for Basilbloom to speak to them about their mission before they set off towards Twolegplace. There will be three cats with special roles in the patrol; a cat with knowledge of Twolegplace, a cat who will get sick with whitecough, and a cat who will get a serious physical injury. In this topic, the cat with knowledge of Twolegplace will be given the title of patrol leader and work alongside Basilbloom. (In this topic everyone will have 72 hours to post with their character before the patrol will leave. Any character that doesn't post during this time will be assumed to have forfeited their position on the patrol and a substitute will take their place.)
After finding their way into Twolegplace and walking for most of the day, they will come to stop and regroup in the Old Twolegplace. This topic will be a chance for more character interactions, as well as to hunt. In this topic, the cat who catches whitecough will begin to display symptoms. However, during the hunt (either by someone rolling a 10 or once everyone had a chance to get the requirement who want it) the patrol will encounter a dog (maybe 2 if there are enough cats.) They'll fight until the dogs flee, but one cat will be injured much more than the rest and play the role of the injured cat. After the dogs flee, the patrol will settle down for the night and any medicine cats there will treat the injuries. (The topic will run on 24-hour rules for both the hunting and the battle to keep things moving. It will offer hunting, battle, and development topic opportunities for requirements)
The next day, Basilbloom will awaken from another dream where she can see the field and the mysterious herb more clearly and feels called to lead the patrol in a certain direction. Waking them, she will lead the group through Twolegplace in the early morning until they find the Great Garden. From here, an herb hunt will begin with everyone participating. Rolling a 1 means the cat found nothing, 2-3 means they found a plant that is ordinary to the clans, 4-5 means they found a plant that is unfamiliar to the clans but isn't the one they're looking for and rolling a 6 means you found the mystery herb. However, it will be a bit challenging IC, since currently, most flowers are in hibernation for the winter. (In this topic everyone has 48 hours to post their first herb roll. This topic will have flexible posting orders for the entire herb hunt, you are free to post as soon as someone else posts after you, if you wish. If no one rolls a 6 within 72 hours, Basibloom will find the herb herself by default.) In the end, Basilbloom will confirm that the right herb was found and suggest that its name be Coneflower, after its appearance. Right now during the winter only the flower head, leaves, and stalk remain. Basilbloom remembers the techniques she saw in her dream and gives a few seeds and the sap from the flower's stem to the cat with whitecough, and it eases their cough. She creates a poultice from the leaves and spreads it only the injured cat's injury, and it soothes the wound. Knowing that they found the right herb, Basilbloom instructs each cat to take one flowerhead and several plant stems with leaves to take back to their clans. They find large beech leaves to wrap the flowerheads in to protect the seeds inside, and once everything is gathered they begin their journey back to the clans.
It takes another day and a half, but they arrive back at Fourtrees and bid each other goodbye. Hopefully, new friendships were formed between the different clan cats, all with good memories that they remember for a long time. Each clan group departs for their clans (it's up to the rpers of these cats if they want to do a returning to their clan topic) and plant the seeds from the flowerheads so that in the spring the herb can grow and begin to be used. However, if a clan chooses not to participate in the herb expedition, they will not have access to find Coneflower on their territory. Basilbloom returns to ShadowClan with her representative and explains their journey to the clan.
Phase #3
However, Basilbloom doesn't feel like she can rest just yet, and the night she returns she leaves camp to travel alone to the Moonstone. In her dreams, she encounters one medicine cat from each clan she traveled with, who thank her for finding the Coneflower. Though it isn't a miracle herb, it has so many important uses that it will be invaluable in the years to come, and surely help many cats of many generations. It can be used to treat colds, whitecough, and greencough, soothe wounds and prevent/treat infection, as well as strengthen the immune system. After she wakes, Basilbloom returns to ShadowClan, content that she fulfilled one of her greatest ambitions and ready to return to her routine work, though now with a few more friends and much more experience than she had before. Rules and Information • Only one character per rper • Warriors and medicine cats only. • Sign-ups are not first come first serve, I will take into account activity and the IC reason for wanting to join the patrol • All applications will be held as backups in case someone drops out or times out of the plot • If a clan has two medicine cats, only one should attend so the other can handle Moonstone Journies. If there is only one medicine cat, either Moonstone Journies could be conducted by someone else or any posted during the expedition could be written to take place before the medicine cat leaves. • Please do not kill off or maim your character while on the expedition, I want this plot to be generally happy with a positive outcome.

They feel a need to do something important, and this is their chance. Character's Name: Beechfang Clan: Skyclan Rank: T1 warrior and ex-medicine cat, T2 on the 17th Why would your character take part in the expedition?: Despite hating her time as a medicine cat, Beech is friends with Basilbloom and Dovefrost, and Muddy would likely tell his former mentor about this too. She often felt as if her efforts to save her clanmate were wasted and generally has a very negative outlook regarding healing, but with some encouragement would be interested in finding anything that could help the clans, especially Skyclan. She has extensive firsthand knowledge of twolegplace, as well, which would be valuable for the patrol. She would love nothing more than to keep her clan strong for the upcoming cold season, especially knowing that Dawnhawk prowls Windclan borders. Character's Name: Robinpatch Clan: Riverclan Rank: T3 warrior (could be T4 soon but still have 2 reqs missing (if I get them done quick enough he could probably be T4 before this takes place) Why would your character take part in the expedition?: Lately, Robin's been feeling like a bit of a burden to his clan. That feeling isn't as intense now as the time after he returned back to Riverclan but it's there nonetheless. To try and combat this, he's been helping more around the camp and in patrols. This adventure could be what he was looking for. He'd be doing a great service to the clan while also looking out for their medicine cat. He could also take some of that time to reflect on his time in 'the beyond' and hopefully reconcile with his past mistakes. Perhaps he'll return to Rc as a changed tom, someone he could finally be proud of. It'll also do him some good to interact with others in general, especially the Rc medicine cat. He hadn't been doing too much of that prior but he was slowly getting better at it. If so, which one?: If someone hasn't applied for this, he could be the one who gets a serious injury (maybe helping protect someone during the dog attack)

Why would your character take part in the expedition?: Cloverheart is Turtelfur’s closest friend, and he knows about Beechface and Dovefrost’s dislike for her. Not only would he be concerned about her general safety away from the Clan, he wants to see other cats working together despite their differences and would work to keep the peace. He would be a calm mediator and a powerful protector against the dangers of twolegplace. He has experience fighting other cats and dogs, and has previously been captured by twolegs, giving him an upper hand in twolegplace despite not ever actually being there. However, his mate, Birdsong, is pregnant and he would be quite torn on leaving her for the duration of the plot when other skilled warriors could just as easily go. Obviously this would cause him significant stress either on the patrol or left as camp.

Why would your character take part in the expedition?: Lynxpetal has knowledge of twolegplace as she travelled through it to reach the forest. She used to live as a member of a rogue group, and thus would know best how to navigate enemy territories, locate food, trick twolegs, and identify if a stranger cat is a threat or potential ally. She also has a deep respect for medicine cats and their art of healing, loves learning, desires to give back to SkyClan for helping her in her time of need, and would work exceptionally well with Beechfang as they have developed mutual trust. However, if Driftpaw is selected, she already serves as an aunt-figure and would keep an eye out for them and other young members of the patrol.

Why would your character take part in the expedition?: To keep an eye on Cloverheart if she comes. Otherwise he'd do it purely out of curiosity and wanting to travel. He loves learning new things, and a mysterious medicinal plant Starclan wanted the medicine cats to find would immidiatly catch his attention.
Are you able to be active and participate in all necessary topics?: Yes, while I usually take time to reply to my posts, the fact that this is a plot with a clear end goal and its important would keep me actively replying it it.
Do you wish to sign up for one of the special roles? If so, which one?: Unless the role ends up taken I'd be willing to have Greypaw be the cat that gets injured, it would make sense as well because he'd either be an apprentice or a greenhorn warrior.

UPDATE
After speaking to staff, unfortunately, apprentices are not going to be allowed to accompany medicine cats on the expedition, meaning that the applications of Driftpaw, Flamepaw, Greypaw, and Aspenpaw cannot be considered until they become warriors. I'm very sorry for the confusion guys! However, Mistypaw's application will remain valid until further notice since the current applications for WindClan include her and her mentor. Them going as a pair would make more sense IC than an apprentice being picked for a dangerous journey alone, but the idea still needs full staff approval which is in progress. I will keep you all updated, and I will choose the patrol members within the next day or so!
