Breath of Fresh Air [Closed]

Hayglow sat at the cusp of the WindClan camp, gaze fixed out on the horizon as she waited for her apprentice. ...Well, part of her didn't want to refer to Magpiepaw like that - she was Spotlake's apprentice, Hayglow was just... Her ears twitched, gaze growing a bit sullen as a sigh escaped her. No, the truth was that Hayglow hadn't been expecting an apprentice - she hadn't really wanted one. Things were still a mess, her heart still ached for her lost daughter and while she had been doing her best to keep up with her duties...

Mentoring somebody had been the last thing she had wanted. She was sure Goldenfang was trying to help her, get her mind focused on other things but... A huff escaped her, a thump of her tail. No, it wasn't worth lamenting on what-ifs or could-bes. She had an apprentice again, she had to accept that and she had to do her best for Magpiepaw. She finally tore her gaze from the horizon, glancing back at the camp to see if she could spot her apprentice yet.

It turned out Spotlake wasn't a super-duper important warrior, and was just considering retiring the whole time. Now that she'd officially done just that, Magpiepaw had a new mentor, Hayglow. All she knew about the golden warrior was that her son was Buzzardpaw's mentor, although that didn't mean much to the apprentice. As long as she was a fun mentor, she didn't really care much at all.

"Can we go yet?" She said impatiently, even though she had just arrived. Her somewhat successful hunt with Ashfall was barely training, and she was looking forward to doing some worth while training.
