Lilykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting!" Ivystar's voice rang out across the clearing, enough that she could be heard on the furthest side of camp. She sat waiting atop the Willow Branch, emerald green eyes gazing across camp as a sizeable number of cats began to gather below.

Lilykit heard Ivystar call the Clan together and wondered what was happening.  She padded into the clearing, looking around for clues as to what might be going on.

Once Lilykit had arrived below the Branch, Ivystar began. "Lilykit, please step forward." Once she did so, the fluffy leader continued, Lilykit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day onward until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Lilypaw. Wisteriabloom will be your mentor." Wisteriabloom was a brand new warrior, but Ivystar knew that Streamtail had taught her well, and she was confident in the she-cat's ability to take on an apprentice of her own also, Malp is running out of options for giving apprentices mentors.

Lilykit almost squealed with joy as Ivystar called her name.  She bounded up as commanded, and as soon as Ivystar announced her mentor, Wisteriabloom, the newly-named apprentice bounded over to touch noses with her.

"Wisteriabloom will be your mentor..." 

Wisteriabloom had been sitting with Streamtail at a clan meeting like normal, until her name was called. An apprentice for me? She hadn't met Lilykit yet, but she seemed like an eager and sweet kit who was now her apprentice. It was her guess that due to the lack of warriors compared to apprentices and kits, she had got an apprentice earlier than most warriors.

"Get some sleep tonight," she said as Lilypaw touched nises with her, "We'll start early tomorrow morning."
