Scorchtalon is an outgoing, friendly cat who's always willing to lend a helping paw. He's a bit naive, but he makes up for it with his unending optimism and energetic nature. He's fiercely loyal to those he cares for, though he doesn't believe that has to exclusively include cats from his own clan. His and other's experiences have led him to have a different view of the warrior code compared to most cats, while he respects it and understands it's importance, he's certainly willing to bend the rules a bit if he feels the situation calls for it. He's extremely proud of his Windclan heritage, though he believes none of the clans would be able to survive without one another. As for his own accomplishments and adventures, he brags about them every chance he gets, and may come off as cocky or arrogant to others. ----WIP!!!!!-------Scorchtalon was born outside the clans to Hentooth, a former Windclan medicine cat, and Varian, a rogue. After his father was killed in a rockslide, Scorchtalon was breifly raised in an abandoned fox den along with his two brothers, (formerly) Fawnkit and Woolykit. Once the kits reached two moons of age, their mother made the dangerous, freezing trek to Windclan with them in tow. Scorchtalon and his brothers don't remember much about the journey, only the relieved feeling when they finally arrived. As a kit, Scorchtalon was a lively youngster, always thinking up new exciting games to play. It was at this time he met the cat who would soon be one of his closest friends, (formerly) Batkit. The two connected almost instantly, often pretending they were the leader and deputy (respectively) of their own clans. They even had a foray into the leader's den, sneaking in while no one was looking and playing in the unsuspecting leader's nest. Soon after, Scorchkit became Scorchpaw, and was apprenticed to Mistysky. Mistysky had been among the few of his clanmates that hadn't been entirely pleased by Hentooth's return, and similarly dismayed by her being accompanied by kits, especially in a season where prey was already scarce. Nonetheless, she took on her task without complaint, teaching Scorchpaw everything he needed to know to serve his clan as a warrior. On his first adventure onto the moor, Scorchpaw caught a rabbit and was subsequently attacked by a hungry eagle. Thankfully they were able to fight the eagle off, but the event inspired Scorchpaw's suffix. Around the end of his apprenticeship, Scorchpaw's friendship with Batpaw was in turmoil. The young she-cat was under a lot of stress with the recent passing of her parents, and although Scorchpaw wanted to comfort her, he was at a loss as for how to do so. As a result, the two began to grow apart. During his apprenticeship, Scorchpaw's mother died, and while he wanted to confide in his closest friend, he knew she was going through her own trauma, and didn't want to burden her with his troubles. Similarly, he felt that he had to remain strong for his brothers, so he continued being his cheery, optimistic self in an effort to keep those around him in good spirits. Scorchpaw's brother Woolypaw also disappeared around this time, causing Fawnpaw and Scorchpaw to grow closer as a result of losing several family members. Scorchpaw and Fawnpaw recieved their warrior names around the same time, and they were named Scorchtalon and Fawnsong respectively. A few moons after their warrior ceremony, Windclan was attacked by a nearby gang of rogues. They injured Fawnsong, leaving the young warrior's face disfigured. Due to both this and the recent passing of the clan's medicine cat, Fawnsong decided to abandon his warrior duties and train as a medicine cat apprentice, believing this was the only way he could serve his clan. Scorchtalon supported his brother's decision, and he was glad that Fawnsong had found something that would make him happy. Around this time, Scorchtalon found out that his friend Batsong was in a romantic relationship with Slightfrost, a warrior from Skyclan. Scorchtalon had met the cat in passing as an apprentice, but had always viewed him as a friend of Batsong's, nothing more. The news shocked him, but he promised not to tell his friends secret, even though he didn't understand her reasons. He recieved his first apprentice, Lavenderpaw, who was a bit of a reserved cat, though Scorchtalon was excited to guide him to become the best warrior he could be. One fateful night, Windclan left camp for their usual full-moon gathering with the other clans, but this time would be a little different. As Scorchtalon met and began to chat with a cat named Marshmallow from Shadowclan, a sudden darkness befell the clearing, cutting all conversations off. The stars had just... disappeared, and in their wake the cats scented an awful, rotting stench. Before they could react, they were surrounded by the undead horrors from the Dark Forest. Cats who had been cunning, evil, and murderous in life had returned from death to terrorize the clans. Several cats were murdered at that fateful gathering, and each clan recieved a patrol of ghastly guests they were forced to bring back to their camp. Life under the jurisdiction of the Dark Forest was ridden with fear, cats afraid to step a single whisker out of line lest they be murdered, a fate several of their clanmates had succumb to already. Scorchtalon took it upon himself to guard the nursery, keeping a wary eye out to ensure the Dark Forest scum went nowhere near it. After what felt like countless seasons of living with the constant undead shadow, they were finally defeated, though two young cats, Sagepaw and Specklepaw, had to sacrifice their lives in order to bring their reign of terror to an end. It was a hard battle, wrought with loss and grief, but the clans won, and order was restored. Windclan, under the reign of a new leader, Shrikestar, began to focus on rebuilding the damage caused by the dark forest. Things were relatively peaceful, and Batsong soon gave birth to Crowkit, though Slightfrost was killed during the Dark Forest invasion. Batsong and Scorchtalon began to grow closer, though shortly after Crowkit was apprenticed Batsong decided to give up the life of a warrior and train under Fawnsong (who had now recieved his full name, Burningleaf). A few moons later, Scorchtalon was out patrolling when he came across a lone kit. She was scarred and covered with fox stench, and Scorchtalon later found out she'd been fleeing the fox that killed her parents. He took her back to the Windclan camp, allowing Batsong and Bunringleaf to see to her wounds. He adopted her as his own, and gave her the name Featherkit. Unfortunately, this was followed by the loss of Burningleaf. The young medicine cat simply disappeared one day, and Scorchtalon always supected he had gone after their brother, Woolypaw. Nonetheless, this hurt Scorchtalon deeply as he'd now lost his entire family, though he remained his optimistic, cheery self, simply because he didn't feel like he should burden any of his clanmates with his sadness. It was at this grief-ridden, vulnerable emotional state in his life that he reconnected with Marshmallow. After several moons had passed since they first met at that fateful gathering, fate saw fit to bring the two of them together again. Their first meeting was the reserved nature most cats had when meeting those from different clans, as well as the lingering fear and distrust leftover from the dark forests invasion. Nonetheless, Scorchtalon found himself quite intrigued by the she-cat, and proposed they meet again, this time at fourtrees around dawn a few days later. He knew it was probably not the best idea considering the ban on cross-clan relationships, but for some reason he couldn't bring himself to care. The two began meeting regularly, and although Scorchtalon tried to deny the romantic feelings developing within him, he eventually had to accept the fact that he was in love with Marshmallow. After seeking advice from his longtime friend Batsong, who advised him to share his feelings with Marshmallow. At their next rendesvous at Fourtrees, Scorchtalon confessed his feelings to Marshmallow, who claimed she felt the same way. After a few moons of meeting with Marshmallow in secret, Scorchtalon, who was already riddled with guilt, found out his kithood friend Batsong had revealed his relationship to Shrikestar. At first he was shocked and hurt, but he understood that as a medicine cat, she had a greater duty to her clan then to her friends. Shrikestar graciously offered Scorchtalon the chance to stay in the clan if he ended the relationship, and Scorchtalon reluctantly agreed. At the next gathering, he made arrangements for Marshmallow to meet him at fourtrees one last time. When he arrived, he told Marshmallow about his conversation with Shrikestar, only to find out that the she-cat was pregnant with his kits. He immediately proposed they leave their clans to live as rogues, and she declined, claiming that she'd never loved Scorchtalon and that she'd only been using him. Heartbroken, the tom fled the scene. A few days later he was found dead outside the Windclan medicine den, succumb to an unknown poison.
