the dawn of a new day [c]

Scorchtalon was up before the sun, but not for his usual reasons. On any other day, he'd be slipping out of camp to meet with Marshmallow, and the fluffy orange tom had been sulking ever since his conversation with Shrikestar. It simply wasn't fair; didn't Shrikestar care about his clan's happiness? Scorchtalon knew as soon as the thought came up that it wasn't true; Shrikestar was only doing what he felt was best. With a sigh, he rose from his nest, stretching his sleep-stiff muscles and heading over to the apprentice den. He'd been surprised to be granted an apprentice after his betrayal of the warrior code, but he was excited nonetheless. He would do his very best with Honeypaw's training, and prove to Shrikestar that he could be trusted.

"Honeypaw! He called cheerfully. "It's time to start training! Grab a bite to eat and then meet me by the camp entrance. The view on the moor is lovely at dawn." He said, a wistful tone to his voice.
