August Gathering 2022

Last Gathering had gone without notable incident, and this moon promised to be relatively peaceful as well. Perchstar led her Clan into the currently-empty Fourtrees, enjoying the reprieve of the day's heat that the soft breeze brought. They were first into the clearing again. Hopefully, the other Clans would soon follow. With a nod to Poppyshine and Dovesight, the leader leapt on top of the Great Rock and awaited the other leaders' arrival.

RiverClan may now enter the Gathering.

Nothing could stop the excited paws of the apprentice as she practically hopped her way into Fourtrees. It was finally time for her to attend a gathering! She had been born not too long after the last one, and it felt like she had to wait for ages to be able to attend. But it was finally time! Her mentor, Grebedance, had done such a great job at preparing her. Despite the excitement that seemed to course through her like a wildfire, she'd be more than ready to behave herself. It would be a night of peace. Perhaps she'd finally get to meet the Thunderclanners who they shared Sunningrocks with?

While the Clan had many new warriors, this would also be the first time Dovesight would be joining the gathering as a full medicine cat. And for once, she was excited. At least the last gathering had gone well enough, even if a lot of tragedy had come upon her afterwards. But as far as she was aware, no cats would be dying. There were no pregnancies, there were no illnesses. And as far as she was aware, there were no feuds.

She realized that they were the first Clan to arrive, and immediately went to wait for the other medicine cats. She realized now that a lot of them were kind, and actually in the same situation as her. They no longer scared her, and she actually felt like she could enjoy talking to them. Had any of them earned their full name yet?

Oh star his first gathering as a warrior. Sootspirit was so excited. Of course he didn't really know who to share it with, there wasn't anyone he had talked to last gathering, so no one to show off to besides his own clan. Oh well. This gathering he swore to himself to make a new friend or at least try. After all there were four other clans, finding someone friendly shouldn't be too hard right?

Woolywing trotted happily next to Yarrowblossom, left side facing his friend to cover his blind spot. His first gathering had been exciting, but he didn't meet nearly as many new cats as he wanted to. He hoped that this moon would be different, now that he and his friends all had their warrior names. His apprenticeship was behind him! Despite his fond memories of Stormdance and learning to hunt, being a warrior now was nothing short of exhilirating.

As they left the shelter of the trees and entered the clearing, he stopped abruptly and scanned the skies above anxiously. All clear, he realised with a sigh of relief. He padded after Yarrowblossom and Sleepycloud with an excited smile, calmed by the absence of visible predators. "Hi, Sleepycloud! Isn't it exciting? Our first gathering as warriors! I do hope I can pay attention this time, I'd like to know what the leaders have to say." He chuckled.

Reedpaw burst into Fourtrees, a wide grin on his face. His first Gathering! Judging by how many cats were in RiverClan; the clearing would be packed with cats..! The other Clans might not be as cool as RiverClan, sure, but maybe they had some interesting stories to tell. Unfortunately for Reedpaw; his own Clan had been first to arrive. A small frown rested on the apprentice's face; it was hardly any different from camp..! It was just larger, and smelled weird. Plopping himself down in the middle of the clearing, Reedpaw flicked his long tail back and forth in anticipation; glancing occasionally toward the entrance for any other clancats who would enter.

Having finally received her nine lives, Briarstar padded into this months gathering, guided by the light of the full moon overhead. SkyClan walked behind her, dispersing across the large clearing as she made a beeline for the rock. Perchstar was currently the only other leader who’d taken their place so far, which was a relief to Briarstar- she didn’t want to be late. Once the leaped onto the rock, she offered a polite nod to the other she-cat, then turned her focus to the cats mingling below.

Pelt groomed and flattened down, Olivepaw practically pranced into the gathering, features alight with glee. This would be her first gathering, and she couldn’t be more excited. She had to resist the urge to burst into the clearing, instead walking in with the most composed poise she could manage. No other Clan cats were present yet, so she found a place in the center of the clearing and waited.

Shrikestar led WindClan into the Gathering, heading straight for the Great Rock. He bounded his way onto it, nodding towards Perchstar and Briarstar. It still felt a little strange that there were no senior leaders anymore, but they were all finding their way together. That was what made the forest strong.

As for Ravenclaw, she was not in a good mood as she entered the Gathering. When did she ever? She looked up at her leader, Briarstar, then away in disgust. This wasn't how things were supposed to go. Bloodstar, Beechfang... How was SkyClan supposed to be as strong as it could be without them?

Flutterpaw was not as impossibly excited as he had been during his first Gathering, but was still happy to be here. Maybe he would see Murkypaw again, or make some new friends! The night was cool and comfortable, ruffling his thick black fur as he followed the rest of WindClan into Fourtrees. There were only two other Clan here now: RiverClan and SkyClan. No ShadowClan yet, unfortunately. Well, that was okay-- he could certainly find someone else to talk to. He'd make friends with one cat every Gathering. Soon he could be friends with the whole forest! A lofty goal, but one he was willing to work for. There were so many interesting cats in all five Clans... he couldn't wait to meet them all.

As he wandered around, light green eyes scanning the clearing, the first cat to catch his eye was a tall, lanky white tom. He looked very similar to Whisperear! Except, instead of big ears and a scar on the throat, this cat had scars all over his foreleg. He was a little bit more soft-looking, too, with more fur on his chest than Whisperear probably had on their whole body. That was the cat he would talk to. They looked about his age, too, despite being nearly twice his size... so they were either an apprentice or a very young warrior. The fluffy black apprentice made his way over to the tall tom and the tired-looking he-cat she was talking to. If not for his luminous green eyes, he would be hardly visible in the bright moonlight. "Hello! My name is Flutterpaw of WindClan," he introduced himself warmly. He had to crane his neck to look up at the tom, but he was used to that. "What's your name? You look really nice."

Wolfblossom silently followed Briarstar and Ravenclaw to fourtrees, pale eyes narrowing as she glared sullenly in the Riverclan leader's direction for a moment. Her mother had made mistakes and needed to be punished, yes, but she still didn't think exiling Beechfang had been right. Her mother's absence was still keenly felt, and with some effort she pulled her gaze away from the Riverclan leader, turning to sit among her clanmates.

Brackenwing couldn't help the ripple of unease down her spine at the prospect of another full moon and another gathering. She wasn't a crowd-lover at the best of times, and more often than not it seemed things tended to go south. She was content to stay among her own clanmates rather than socialize.

Blazefang padded back into Fourtrees, taking a place next to her favorite interesting little rock. Looking around, the WindClan warrior took in the scents. SkyClan and RiverClan were here, and she could see Perchstar and Briarthorn on the rock. No sign of ThunderClan, though. Blazefang’s tail twitched nervously as she waited. Hopefully Dayquill, the nice ThunderClan tom she’d met some time ago, would be here. She wasn’t entirely sure why, but she wanted to see him again. Come to think of it, news of her sister would be nice too. Where was Stormwhatsit?
