June Gathering 2023

Heading for the Gathering felt like returning to the scene of a crime that you committed. Still, Shrikestar couldn't let what happened last moon keep him and his clan from showing up. They would be seen as weak to drop the news previously and then not return. So he led his clan down into the clearing, which at the moment was just SkyClan. That was kind of a relief, though only so much. He went for the Great Rock and climbed up onto it, giving a curt nod to Birdstar before looking out among the clearing. Then he looked up, at the clear sky, with the moon shining above. That had to mean things were okay, right? StarClan would have given them a sign if something was amiss. At least, he hoped that to be the case.

WindClan may enter the Gathering.

It seemed Skyclan was the first to arrive, and Wolfblossom did not find that reassuring in the slightest. That just meant that Skyclan would have to wait on the other clans, and knowing how gatherings usually went, the deputy was not looking forward to Windclan's arrival. Still, her posture remained deliberately relaxed as she padded into fourtrees at Birdstar's side, taking her place below the great rock. Her bright blue gaze glanced back over her clanmates, and Wolfblossom would rather have been among them than have to wait on the other deputies tonight. The chaos of the last gathering had not touched Skyclan's borders, and she wished it to stay that way. It wasn't long before Windclan had the guts to show themselves, and Wolfblossom kept her face carefully neutral. It would not to do snarl in disgust at them, much as she thought their leadership fools.

Stoneheart padded into the gathering among her clanmates, sticking close to them. It seemed Skyclan was the first to arrive, and hoped the other clans would get here quickly so they could get this over with and leave without petty nonsense interrupting the gathering again. If she found Mistflower, she would be happy to sit beside her.

Graywind wasn't sure she wanted to even go to the gathering, but seeing as the rest of her family usually she, she would attend for them. She just hoped there would be no foxdung this moon, but who knew with Windclan being Windclan.

Brackenwing and Beechfang aren't attending.
Moondancer hasn't arrived, and might not.

Smallbean's head was low as he entered Fourtrees. The last thing he wanted was to draw attention to himself, or Windclan at all. He silently looked over to his leader, wondering what he was thinking right now. If he was worried, or nervous about what had happened last time. Or if he thought Shadowclan might say something. All of the clans were upset, he knew, but Shadowclan... Knowing that Shadowclan would be here was most worrying of all. For the past few days Smallbean had found himself dreading the gathering because of Shadowclan.

Hesitantly, he looked to the base of the Great Rock, dismayed to see that the Skyclan deputy had already taken her spot. The same deputy who'd raised her voice at him last moon. The sick feeling in his stomach grew. Trying to be as obscure as possible, he steered clear of any cats on his way to the Great Rock, sitting down and staring as his paws when he reached it's base.

Astershine didn't really want to go to the gathering, not after last time. It had been a disaster, all the Windclan Medicine cat's fault. Why she didn't just opt to take care of it privately, he didn't know. All he knew is that she shouldn't try to pull a stunt like that again. It had ruined everyone's night, along with raising tensions from all clans. Just what they needed.

With a heavy sigh, he decided to sit near the clearing's edge. If anything broke out, he figured he'd just leave early. Go home and wait for the rest of the clan to return.

It had taken major convincing from Jayfrosts siblings to get him to attend the gathering this moon. The tom wasn't particularly up to face insults for their medicine cat's behavior, but he decided he'd just keep his distance. From everyone. Including Batsong. Especially Batsong. So, when he padded into fourtrees, he immediately took the side of his siblings, staying as far away from the other clans as possible.

Dawnfeather followed SkyClan into the hollow, trailing behind her Clanmates. There was a certain hollow melancholy that tugged at her heartstrings, faded memories of nights spent beside her mother or brother, waving at Beechaunt from further into the clearing. It- it was alright, she decided. Now was not the time. Instead, the golden she-cat settled for waving her tail in encouragement at Wolfblossom and Birdstar, not her aunt. She’d- she’d see Beechaunt again soon.

Silvery fur flashed in the corner of her eye. Dawnfeather turned, catching a glance of- Astershine, wasn’t it? She briefly considered speaking to the young tom, but decided against it. He looked like he’d rather keep to himself, anyways. Maybe later.

It was no secret that WindClan wasn’t exactly a “fan favorite” clan after what Batsong had pulled last full moon. But, whether the others like it or not; they were here, much to Fuzzface’s disappointment. Following his clanmates, he took his usual spot near the edge of the crowd, sitting down with a solid ‘thump.’ Watching as cats began to flood into the clearing, he lifted a paw and began to clean himself, something often did after traveling a distance from camp.

Fuzzface is open to chat, though good luck in getting him to carry on a conversation…

Perchstar had half a mind to stay in camp. When had the Gathering ever done anything good for them? They hadn't even had peaceful discussions for a moon. Her first time back after being abducted by Twolegs, WindClan had ruined the truce by sticking their noses in everyone else's business. But still... it was in the Code that the Gathering would be held. And, truth be told, Perchstar found herself wishing to check on Mottlestar. Was the ThunderClan leader all right after last Gathering? After she'd died on the Great Rock?... It may be nice to see Birdstar, as well. She could not care less for Nightstar and Shrikestar, but she supposed that they would also be there, and it would not hurt to communicate her neutral disdain by refusing to greet them. So it was that RiverClan finally entered the Gathering.

Perchstar leapt onto the Rock, feeling a mixture of emotions. An unhappiness at the presence of Shrikestar, who looked so boldly blasé standing there as if his Clan wasn't the one that had ruined the peace of the Gathering last time. However, she also felt a brief prick of warmth at seeing that Mottlestar still stood there, alive and well--obviously not listening to the calls for her demotion--and that she was giving a friendly bump of the head to Birdstar, who also looked none the worse for the weather. The gray and white she-cat joined them, giving a warm nod of the head to both Birdstar and Mottlestar. Aside from her gaze initially flicking to Shrikestar to note his appearance, she acted as if he was not there. He certainly had no reason to complain about her actions. She sat herself at Mottlestar's other side, so that the mottled she-cat was shouldered by the two other female leaders on both her left and right. Neither of the toms would get to say anything amiss to her, if Perchstar had anything to say about it.

RiverClan may enter the Gathering.
Flutterpetal may or may not come.

Smokepetal pressed her shoulder to Firepool's side as SkyClan paused at the crest of the hill that led down to Fourtrees. Uneasiness raised her hackles, and her green-gray eyes were wide with anxiety. It had taken a considerable amount of convincing for her to even attend this Gathering, after the fiasco that was the previous one, but here she was, and here, close to her family, she would stay.

As the clan broke apart, Smokepetal stayed next to Firepool, waiting to see where he would go, so she could follow.

Sunfire was in a bad mood. He stalked behind the rest of SkyClan and then as the others moved away, he found a quiet place to sit.

Owlshade followed WindClan into Fourtrees, his blue eyes sharp and irate. He could already feel gazes burning on their pelts as they entered the Gathering. Of course, WindClan would be the pariah tonight, he hadn't expected any less. He sat by himself, uninterested in conversation.

Lichenwing trotted near the front of ThunderClan's group, eager to get to the Gathering, so they could leave the Gathering. He wasn't exactly thrilled to be here tonight, but there was no way he was going to sit it out if any sort of kickback from last moon's Gathering was going to happen tonight. So he kept his head down and deliberately refused to look in the direction that most of SkyClan's warriors were.

Smokepetal is with Firepool (and not sitting with the other medicine cats).
Sunfire is sitting by himself and looking angry.
Owlshade is also sitting by himself and looking angry.
Lichenwing is open for conversation.

Ridgecrest followed behind Mottlestar, keeping his head up and ears pricked. Although he had not attended last Gathering, he had heard of the disaster that was WindClan’s medicine cat. Disgraceful. The stocky tom padded into the clearing, glancing around him. Was this the first time he’d attended a proper Gathering? Possibly. More than likely, in fact. Another sign of what troubles the forest lately.

The stocky tom sat squarely in the middle of the ThunderClan group. He’d be open to talking to one of them, but he’d have to find some way to keep other Clanners away. Maybe he could just give them the cold shoulder.


Drizzlepaw followed silently into the clearing behind RiverClan. She didn’t want to- well. She didn’t mind being here, with all these new scents and sights, but she’d rather keep to herself and her own Clan.

Dawnfeather caught a glimpse of Smokepetal out of the corner of her eye and waved her tail. She hadn’t spent nearly enough time with her daughter, lately, but she looked like she was deep in conversation with Firepool.

Much like his leader, Creamsky wasn't eager to be at the gathering either. He knew he had at least had the option to stay back...But as much as the business was not his own, he couldn't deny some curiosity to see how ShadowClan and ThunderClan had fared with the reveals. ThunderClan seemed fine as they arrived shortly after WindClan, Mottlestar still taking her spot upon the rock...But soon only ShadowClan had yet to arrive and who knew if they would. He settled down as he curled his tail around his paws, glancing around as the rest of the Clans as every cat started to take their place. How would this Gathering turn out, he wondered...

Acornstem simply was there for moral support - she knew that a few of her Clanmates felt betrayed by Mottlestar's actions but the young she-cat simply couldn't muster up a single bit of anger towards her leader. She respected the others feelings of course - they were right to be hurt with such a reveal - but she...She had always found the idea of romance to be... With how quickly she grew to fancy cats, she couldn't blame Mottlestar for a moment of weakness following the loss of her mate. She didn't understand, not fully...But she didn't hold any resentment. What had happened, happened. All was left to do was look forward.

Nightstar... paw? Did not want to be leading Shadowclan tonight, but Leopardsun had a point when she had said that even if he was demoted to an apprentice, no other clan cats knew so it would be best to provide a united front. They had notified the clan before departing camp. He hoped that they'd all be on their best behaviour as they padded into the clearing, Nightstar - Nightstar just for the night - looking up to all the leaders already on the rock. Nightstar said nothing and sat as far as he could away from Shrikestar and by extension the other leaders, but the limited space on the rock beckoned some proximity.
