Plumpaw sat in the shade near the apprentice den gazing thoughtfully at her paws while her fluffy gray tail flicked lazily. She was still in disbelief at the chaos that had taken place at the gathering. She'd already been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cats in attendance, so witnessing everyone fighting and arguing had been a bit too much for her. Not to mention the shocking news that her mother had apparently murdered a cat, a cat who turned out to be Riverclan's medicine cat. Both Beechfang and Bloodstar seemed to imply that Cloverheart deserved it, and the whole situation was much too complicated for Plumpaw to bother worrying about. She'd have to deal with it eventually, but for now, she'd much rather sit and enjoy some peace and quiet, though she wouldn't object to having company.

Hawthornpaw

Skyclan Camp

Nothing to do.
Hawthornpaw lazed around the camp, fiddling with the mouse he had caught. He yawned loudly, gently passing the prey back and forth between his paws. The tom looked around casually, trying to find something that interested him enough to move. The camp did their regular business. Warriors brought in prey, apprentices traded out moss, and queens fed their kits. Hawthornpaw did not have the energy to deal with any of that. Instead, his attention sat on a lone clanmate. An apprentice, sitting by herself near their den. She seemed quiet enough. Better than nothing I guess, he shrugged, tossing the mouse into the fresh-kill pile before padding towards the grey and white she-cat.

He flicked his tail in silent greeting before taking a spot next to her, whether she was okay with that or not. The tom then began cleaning his paws casually. He peered at her from the corners of his eyes, tilting his head slightly to face her more. "Boring day isn't it?" he mewed, hoping to spark a small conversation for entertainment.

Plumpaw looked up as another cat approached, sitting down beside her and washing their paws. She recognized the tom as Hawthornpaw, a fellow apprentice she hadn't been much acquainted with beyond the occasional patrol. Speaking of patrols, that latest hunting excursion left me exhausted! Hm... according to the elders Greenleaf is a time when prey is plentiful, so I wonder why it takes so much energy to catch? Maybe it's just me... I haven't been apprenticed all that long, I'm probably just not very good at it yet.

She hadn't realized Hawthornpaw was speaking until she heard the tail end of his words.

"Hm? Oh, I suppose it has been quite uneventful today. But it's a welcome change after the last Gathering, I think the clan could do with a bit of boredom after that... fiasco." Pushing down a spark of annoyance at her own distractedness, Plumpaw gave Hawthornpaw a small, friendly smile as she waited for his response.
