Subject: Plumkit's Apprentice Ceremony Sun 5 Jun 2022 - 9:22
Ashstorm woke up late today. Sleep was something she severely lacked recently, because her worry kept her up most of the night. The grey she-cat hurried to the Tallbranch. She climbed it and cleared her throat. She shook her head, and opened her eyes wider, trying to make it appear as if she was not tired. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather at Tallbranch for a clan meeting!" She called to the clan.

Beechfang's ears pricked as Ashstorm called another ceremony. Her sister looked tired, something Beechfang could relate to. The causes of her own tiredness were beginning to leave the nursery and become apprentices, at least, though Beechfang suspected Ashstorm had little in the way of relief. While she couldn't be prouder of her kits, Beechfang also worried for them. Stars knew there were enough dangers lurking in the territory, and apprentices could find themselves in all sorts of trouble. She certainly had, and hoped that her kits wouldn't have to go through anywhere near to what she had as an apprentice, or even a medicine cat for that matter. She smoothed Plumkit's pelt down as best she could, trying not to let her own anxiety show. It was bittersweet to watch her kits leave the nursery and grow, to know that they wouldn't depend on her, but she was glad, too.

Plumkit wasn't completely sure what was going on. She'd been napping peacefully in the nursery when the ceremony had been called, and the next thing she knew she was being nudged out of her comfortable nest and having her fur groomed. It wasn't altogether unpleasant, but surely she was old enough to that herself now? Wriggling away from her mother's grasp, she stared up at Ashstorm curiously. Several of her siblings had already been made apprentices, was it finally her turn? She'd never paid much attention to the other kits practicing their battle/hunting moves in anticipation of apprenticeship, preferring to play quietly by herself, away from the chaos of having so many siblings. Her eyes widened in realization, and she straightened proudly as she gazed up at the Tallbranch. She was going to make her clan proud.
Once again, Briarthorn felt odd standing at the base of the Tallbranch, but she knew that this was something she needed to do. ”Plumkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you earn your warrior name, you shall be known to all as Plumpaw. Dandelionflight will be your mentor. Congratulations.” Briarthorn leaped off of the branch back to the clearing below, nodding to the newly named apprentice and hoping that went as smoothly as she felt it had.
ooc; I apologize for the delay in this ceremony ;;
