Whispers on the Wind [Sitewide Sign Ups]

The sudden appearance of light, ghostly figures drifting between the forest offered something close to comfort for the Clans. It seemed the kin they'd lost since the Dark Forest's arrival had yet to reach their starry ancestors; instead, they aimlessly haunted their sites of death, visible and yet unreachable. In the midst of solving yet another interruption to their regular lives, a more important problem arises:

Each Clan's medicine cat has finally, after ages of no contact, received word from StarClan. The news is devastating to the already hurting Clans: in order to banish their ghastly oppressors to the Dark Forest once more, warriors from each Clan will be required to step forth and sacrifice their lives. Only then will StarClan be able to reach the living cats below, stepping down from Silverpelt to aid their kin in their plight.

Hello and welcome to one of our last sign-ups for the current sitewide! Here we'll be looking for cats that would be willing to sacrifice their lives to bring StarClan to the territories. We will be choosing about 2-3 cats per Clan; because of that limit, these sign-ups will not be on a first come, first serve basis. Staff will be reviewing each application as carefully yet quickly as possible and contacting the users selected to play this role in the plot.

Another important note is that, if your cat is selected, things will move pretty fast through the end of the sitewide. This isn't meant to deter anyone from applying, but please keep that in mind when you consider offering any of your characters.

Name: Dustcloud
Rank: Elder
Clan: ThunderClan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Dustcloud has always had a very strong connection with StarClan, and remained devout and committed to them even throughout hardships and rough times. She believes that StarClan led her home (whether this is true or not remains unknown) after she was lost and nearly starving following the death of an entire litter of kits. Since then, she has renewed her promise to always follow StarClan, and stay true to their guidance and the Code. She has a kind soul and gentle heart, and would make a perfect fit for the role.

Name: Myrtledove
Rank: Medicine Cat
Clan: Skyclan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Myrtledove has found himself with an interesting arc since he was young. In his journey to becoming a warrior, he found himself hating the lifestyle. During his moonstone journey, in his discussion with Coldheart, she told him to find another path if he wouldn't be useful as a warrior. After going on an herb hunt with Muddythorn once he'd received his warrior name of Myrtleturtle, the medicine cat took him under his wing as an apprentice. During his medicine cat apprentice ceremony, this was at the start of the site-wide, and he was greeted with nothingness. This led the tom to believe that he wasn't accepted as an apprentice by Starclan, pushing him to train even harder. This faith was destroyed yet again as he received his full name, Myrtledove - Morningstar came by, and bestowed him his name under the Dark Forest. Myrtledove would sacrifice himself to prove to Starclan that he was worthy of the fate he wanted, that he truly was faithful. Even though all of this happened to him by chance, the tom truly believes that he hasn't been enough in the eyes of his ancestors, and wants to do anything that he could to prove that he is.

Name: Morningsun
Rank: Warrior
Clan: ThunderClan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Morningsun is the sort of cat to have kind words to say, and a mouse to share. He has shown himself to be thoughtful towards others despite growing up in a world without StarClan. Despite that, he has enough trust in the medicine cats of the forest to put faith in a group of starry cats he had never even seen. Mostly, because he wants the pain of his clanmates to end. While he would love to see a world without this darkness, he knows that someone will have to act in order to make it happen.

But, most of all, his name has haunted him. Born just before Morningstar's ascension, when he hears the hatred and fear associated with the name, Morningsun wanted nothing more than to stand against the name. When he received his warrior name, Morningsun could see in the eyes of his clanmates the flinch of his name. What better way to stand against 'Morning', than to be the one to help bring back StarClan? To stop what Morningstar has brought into their forest, Morningsun will give his life.

Clan: SkyClan

Why would your cat best fit this role? Driftcloud has been searching for a purpose in SkyClan since his warrior ceremony. He hates that he's known as being the "fat", "lazy" warrior, and wants to do better, be better. They are trying their hardest to prove themself, and would, with some thought, sacrifice themself for the good of SkyClan. His motives may be a little selfish, but in the end he wants what's best for SkyClan and the whole forest.

Clan: shadowclan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Deerleap was born a rouge, but was accepted into shadowclan as a kit. though she hardly remembers her life before, she is haunted by the thought of being different. she's always wanted to help her clan and other cats in the best way possible, even thinking of becoming leader one day. she would never bear to have one of her clanmates die for her. so, what better way than to sacrifice herself, for the greater good?

Why would your cat best fit this role? her mother was born in a large litter, but she was the only one to make it to warriorhood. speckle herself was born with four other siblings, but they were all still-born. it did not help that mistysky, speckle's mother, died shortly after giving birth. left to fend for herself as an orphan, she wants to prove that she is as good as any warrior, and wants to make her dead family proud.

Name: Cinderflame
Rank: Tier 2 Warrior
Clan: Thunderclan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Cinderflame has been vocal about her disdain towards the Dark Forest invasion. She is a strong believer of the Code and Starclan, having a strong resentment towards the undead who had turned her brother Softfall into a murdered and killed Reedshine, her other sibling. After her warrior ceremony, she had enough and had the guts to confront her leader/father about why he had given up so easily on fighting back as a true warrior should. After some harsh truths were revealed in this confrontation, Cinderflame decided that, if he wasn't going to do anything and allow the Dark Forest to keep infesting her clan and home, she was. Determined, she convinced her sibling Rainpaw to leave the clan in search of help and to get stronger so they can come back and fight for her clan.
After all this, it would be a nice conclusion for her arc to end being a sacrifice so Starclan can return and the Dark Forest can disappear. Despite her brash attitude, she cares deeply for her clan and family, making her willing to give up her life for Thunderclan. It would give purpose to her journey and the hardships she and Rainpaw had to endure after leaving Thunderclan to find a way to save it.
This could also spark Softfall's redemption arc (if speedy is planning one) and character development for all of her family (including Stoatstar and Appledaple, her foster parents)

Name: Sootwhisker
Rank: Tier 3 Warrior
Clan: Shadowclan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Sootwhisker's parents left the clan when he was just a kit, abandoning both him and their duties as a warrior. Due to this, he's always done his best to prove to his clan that he's loyal despite his parent's mistakes, and would do anything to protect the clan and the cats that nurtured him when he felt most alone. He also wants to be a better parent than his were, and if that means sacrificing himself so that his daughter can be safe, that's what he'll do.

Why would your cat best fit this role? Sagepaw was born as part of a large litter, and often struggled with feeling overlooked because of it. As selfish as it may sound, she wants to be remembered by her clan for doing something significant, and lately she feels as though she's been lost in the shuffle of having so many littermates and clanmates. With the recent passing of her mother, she has a motive to stop the dark forest cats before they take more lives of cats she loves.

Clan: SkyClan
Why would your cat best fit this role? Orchidmask has been extremely devoted to her clan and the Warrior Code for her whole life, finding a sense of security in doing the best she can for her clan. At the same time, being born to a rouge inside SkyClan made her feel like she had to prove herself worthy of staying there, and over time those feelings blocked her ability to make friends, have fun, and just live her life. She's found a friend in Newtspring, but the loss of many of her family members had left her in a dark place. This would be the ultimate act of dedication she could give to SkyClan, and she would be willing to do it.

Why would your cat best fit this role? He is angsty and looking for his place in the world- a way to make a legacy for himself. He would do anything to accomplish that.

Why would your cat best fit this role? Flurrypaw is idealistic and overzealous, quick to wholly dedicate herself to whatever cause catches her attention - in this case, opposing the Dark Forest cats. She doesn't know much about StarClan or even just the stars, just what little she's heard from whispers and stories, but she would gladly give anything so that others might get to see them - including her own life.
