September Gathering 2022

Nightstalker padded in with Shadowclans portion of Thunderclan behind him, having refused to wait a little longer for Thunderclan and walk with them. That would make him feel like they were a little more united than he would wish. Nightstalkers lead the way into the clearing before he looked up towards the great rock, hovering with uncertainty. Froststar was ill, but he could have lost a life and recovered, or he could still be seriously ill and Nightstalker found himself at an impasse. Should he take his place on the great rock? He shook his head, he would wait for one of his clanmates from Skyclans side of things to bring him news before he sat anywhere.

Mottlerose had given Nightstalker the nod to go ahead and lead his portion of the Clan into the gathering. After all, it wouldn't do any harm. Fourtrees, and the gathering, were neutral territory, so there was no reason in fearing any type of combat. They had all learned their lesson in causing trouble, and not to mention, she was positive that they were eager to reunite with their other half. The molly, on the other hand, had a mind full of trouble. Minnowstar had been ill, being unable to attend the gathering, and so she would have to lead Thunderclan in turn. There would simply be no time for nerves, and so she shook out her pelt as Thunderclan followed behind into the clearing.

It seemed odd. Only two gatherings where she got to sit among the deputies, but now she would be on the Great Rock. Part of her wished this wouldn't be the case... but only time would tell. Giving a nod to the black tom as she passed by, she lept to take a spot, sitting where Minnowstar usually did.

Large paws pressed indentions into the grass as Briarstar walked, leading both SkyClan and the entirety of what ShadowClanners were with her. Their group was among the first to arrive, greeted only by ThinderClan and their portion of ShadowClanners. She could only assume that Nightstalker, their deputy, was unaware of what had happened to Froststar. Biting the inside of her cheek, she contonued onward, dipping her head respectfully to the much younger deputy. This was going to suck… Inhaling deeply, she mustered up the courage and spoke.

”Greetings, Nightstalker. The other half of your Clan is with me tonight. Unfortunately…” She cleared her throat, not breaking eye contact with the tom. ”Unfortunately, Froststar was unable to recover from injuries he sustained during the flood. StarClan was unable to heal him. I’m sorry, and I offer you my deepest condolences.” Froststar’s death had been a tragedy, one she hadn’t foreseen- nor had the rest of the Clans and their medicine cats. Briarstar waited for a moment in silence, before turning and dipping her head once more. Then, she made her way to the top of the rock. Nightstalker would likely join her there, but for now, she didn’t expect the likely grieving (and nervous, she had to guess) tom to do anything at all. She offered a polite nod to Mottlerose atop the rock, assuming that Minnowstar was simply ill or unable to attend.

The calico had followed silently in the shadows of her clan and the members of ShadowClan that occupied her camp, keeping a little bit of distance after the fiasco in the camp and her recent badger battle where she had accidentally fought on the same side as Nightstalker, her brother's murderer. Thistlemask felt a little uneasy walking into a gathering where her closest friend had to sit atop the stone and she lacked any on-the-ground support, but she was aware of the necessity, and it did elicit a feeling of pride to see her tortoiseshell deputy with the other leaders.

She sat with a comfortable distance between her and other cats, feeling strangely open to conversation despite her discomfort at having no friends and her identity out and moderately-known in her own camp. The warrior was sort of bitter, but figured if she was disliked and distrusted, she couldn't sink any lower socially.

Briarstars firm voice caught his attention, and it just made him more uncertain. Skyclans leader had no business directly addressing him... unless. He knew it was coming, but he denied and shoved it down until it was now undeniable. Starclan was obvious with their prophecy which in itself was surprising, so that must have meant things would be dire. Nightstalker nodded solemnly before he gave a sigh, he was Shadowclans leader now huh? The cats under him wouldn't know, so they will learn when he makes his speech on the great rock.

He gulped nervously before he turned and ascended it, claws scrabbling at the holds as he placed himself next to Mottlerose. This is a view he would have to get used to, this was the same view his mother would have seen. By Starclan, he now was upholding her mantle, wasn't he? He was truly succeeding her, finally.

Molepaw followed her mother to Fourtrees. This was her first Gathering, and she was quite nervous about it. She glanced at Mottlerose, and looked back to the clearing. She brushed through the undergrowth, eyes widening at the moonlit area. She saw other cats enter, and felt a bit more confident around the other clans.

Roseburn padded into the gathering, feeling rather hopeful. There were ShadowClan cats living in SkyClan, would they be reunited today? The thought of seeing her family again thrilled her. Maybe everything would be okay after all.

ThunderClan had already arrived, and Crimsonflame immediately searched for his sister. With ShadowClan cats having been in her camp as well, what if her place had been threatened? Every cat knew he was Dawnhawk's kit, ShadowClan couldn't do much to harm him. So what if they went after her?

Thistlemask was sitting away from other cats, and his brow furrowed as he padded to join her. "Is everything okay? Did anything happen?"

Perchstar led her Clan into Fourtrees, noting with surprise that a whole three other Clans were now there as well. Of them, however, only one leader stood on the Great Rock. Briarstar, next to Mottlerose and Nightstalker. Were ShadowClan back in their own territories yet? Was Minnowstar doing okay? Well, those questions could all be answered in good time. After a customary nod to her deputy, she leapt up onto the rock, giving the other high ranks a slow blink of greeting. Hopefully, tonight would proceed smoothly.

RiverClan may enter the Gathering.

Minksplash followed not too far behind her mother and Auntie Perch. Yet another gathering was at her paws, and this one felt much more comfortable. A quick glance saw that they weren't the first ones to arrive, but rather towards the tail-end. It was... impressive, given that they had left so early. Though, glancing at the Great Rock, she was surprised to see a familiar black-pelted tom. Curious eyes seemed to hone in on Nightstalker, her tail swishing among the earth as she took a spot. She had recognized the tortoiseshell from being among the deputies, but nothing more.

Moonlily found her way into the clearing. It was the same old conversation every time, it seemed. Though, the restful evening of peace and simply chatting among the clans was welcome. She followed behind Crimsonflame, curious as to where the tom was going, and settled down beside the molly he seemed to wanted to chat to. She had no reason other than just... why not? Tucking her paws beneath her chest, she looked towards Crimsonflame, then the Thunderclan molly. Curiosity rippled beneath her thick pelt, but she wasn't about to say anything.

Moonlily is loafing near Crimsonflame and Thistlemask.

Nightpaw followed Mottlerose obediently, ready for another night of careful observation. She looked toward the accompanying ShadowClan cats, wondering if they were near-recovered yet- would ThunderClan's territory be their own again soon, or would they have to keep sharing? Not every ShadowClan cat was completely insufferable, but it did get pretty crowded with so many cats.

Thalia entered the familiar clearing of Fourtrees behind Nightstalker, hoping that tonight at least would be peaceful. Gatherings were often chaotic and messy, but she just wanted a fun night where nothing too bad happened. It didn't seem like too much to hope or to ask for, though she'd been proven wrong before.

Exhausted and depressed, Leopardsun dragged herself after SkyClan's leader. She would need to remember to thank Briarstar for her kindness toward ShadowClan- not that it was likely to mean anything coming from just a young warrior, but it was important to show gratitude. That she had allowed them to stay even after the loss of their leader was something that she felt deserved acknowledgement. Now wasn't the time for that- interrupting a Gathering was a terrible idea, and she'd had enough of it- so she instead looked around the clearing for any sign of Vixenpaw.

Dovesight padded in with the rest of RiverClan, having a bit more energy, but at the same time still exhausted. Of course the predators wouldn't have stopped just because of Perchstar's new rules, even if they did help. Although today was a momentous gathering, as it would be the first Sandypaw would attend.

Taking a seat amongst the crowd, she looked toward her apprentice now, a half hearted smile on her face. With luck, this gathering wouldn't be a disaster, but she wasn't particularly looking forward to it, either. There always seemed to be bad news.

Shrikestar led WindClan into the Gathering. It was another clear night, a sign that StarClan wasn't angry with them. That was always a relief. He made his way to the Great Rock, climbing atop it and greeting the leaders there in turn. Actually, there were only two other leaders. The other two were the clan deputies. What were they doing there? Perhaps their leaders were sick, though he shuddered to think of the alternative. There had been enough change recently to last a lifetime in his opinion.

Brackenwing padded into fourtrees after Shrikestar, taking her now-typical post near the very edge of the hollow as she scanned the crowd. It seemed as though Windclan were the last to arrive, and as her dark green eyes traveled over the great rock, she noted the two deputies that sat atop it. She knew Shadowclan's deputy from their... encounter... at the border some moons prior, yet it felt like a lifetime ago. Her gaze turned back to her own clanmates, seeking out the form of her apprentice Leafpaw and her daughter Lynxpaw. She would let them mingle as they wished, but would keep an eye on them from a distance. She wasn't quite sold on the idea of a peaceful gathering and was waiting for the other paw to drop, honestly. The crowds made her nervous, as did the full moon itself.

Harechaser padded into fourtrees after her older brother, half afraid if she took her eyes off of him she might lose him again. She was excited at the prospect of seeing the rest of her clanmates however, and as Nightstalker headed toward the great rock she turned, mismatched gaze searching for Crowspirit and Swiftheart. She hoped they were here, she'd missed her family.

Wolfblossom grumbled at the obnoxious humidity, shaking out her pelt as though that might help the uncomfortable weight that seemed to settle around her. She was content to remain among her clanmates as they settled into fourtrees, not particularly in the mood to interact with the other clans. With any luck Shadowclan could go back to their territory soon, and Skyclan could have their territory to themselves, as it was meant to be.
