Warm Feathers [Open]

Starlingflare rested close to the middle of camp, enjoying the sun that was shining through the trees. His single eye closed in contentment. Greenleaf was a wonderful season. The experience of previous leafbare made him enjoy the warm weather even more. His patrols had been going well, hunting was as difficult as always but still a little easier with all of his practice. His kits were growing up. Life was good.

Starlingflare smiled at the energy the new warrior exhibited. He remembered what it was like to be that young, even though it wasn't that long ago he was a newly named warrior. "I believe my kids are out on patrols, shame I couldn't go with them." He was glad his kits were growing up well. Hopefully they would come by and join him sometime today. "I don't plan on going anywhere at the moment, maybe will wind up doing some hunting later, but just enjoying the sun." The tom shifted in his spot slightly. "How are things going for you Stormsong?"

Beetleshade stalked into camp, her jaws weighed down with the results of a successful hunt. Lately, she'd realized she preferred hunting alone rather than on a patrol with her clanmates, especially early in the morning, when the forest was peaceful and quiet. It had become a bit of routine for her, slipping out of camp before dawn and spending the morning exploring the territory. This particular morning, she'd managed to catch a few plump mice, and she was quite proud of herself. Her eyes lit up as she saw her father lounging in the middle of the camp, and she quickly dropped her prey into the fresh-kill pile before trotting over with a friendly wave of her tail. Though most cats annoyed her, Starlingflare was one of the few she actually enjoyed spending time with. As for Stormsong, he was a bit too... energetic, for her tastes, but she tolerated him nonetheless.

"Hey, you two!" She purred as she approached. "Lovely day isn't it?" Beetleshade plopped down next to Starlingflare, enjoying the sun on her pelt as she leisurely licked a paw and drew it over her ear.

"So, how is everything?

When his kit appeared Starlingflare couldn't help but let out a purr, turning to give her a swift lick on her head as she had plopped down next to him. He was glad that she decided to join him in enjoying the sun. "How was hunting?" He asked her before smiling at Stormsong's response. "I'm glad to hear you are doing well. The better you guys are, the happier I am."
