March Gathering 2022

Bloodstar lead Skyclan to Fourtrees, resuming his duty as the forest's snow-plow. Thankfully, the snow was finally something he was getting used to. Not. He moved through it with powerful strides, being the icebreaker ship that he had always been. It was a long trek to Fourtrees, made colder by the leaf-bare that apparently had no end in sight. Why would it? It was the worst season of the year so of course it was going to linger.

Once they made it to the hallow, Bloodstar kicked hard off of the ground once and sailed in one graceful arc onto the Great Rock. Nevermind that his joints popped loudly and he grunted. Never. Mind. That. The striped leader sat down and waited for the rest of the clans to arrive.

Beechfang trudged through the snow, not nearly as grumpy about it as Bloodstar was but not at all thrilled with going to fourtrees as usual. The wind ruffled her long fur and made the branches above groan, and the scarred she-cat's ears flattened with unease as they entered fourtrees. Skyclan were the first to arrive... How typical. Didn't the other clans want to get this over with as quickly as they did? Why did they all have to take their sweet time in showing up to gatherings?

At least the relatively empty hollow meant that she could find a spot to sit without having to worry about other cats.

Injuries unseen beneath the wild framing of dark-fur, rife with the misgiving of poor healing and lasting tension blossoming in the wake of the frigid weather, the especially cold eve making the already wan procession usually adopted by Jaystar all the more internally frustrating; though the damage incurred by the loss of his first life had been alleviated, it had yet to heal truly under the pressing weight of the season. Puffing out a steaming breath of whirling whiteness under the newfound strain of leaping atop the looming rock, he paid little mind to the slight stiffness in his singular peer's posture, unable to scrounge up little superiority when his own body seemed to rebel at the seasonal harshness. There was so little energy to devote when it came to SkyClan, especially with what they had learned in the past moon or so.

Bearspirit followed dutifully behind Jaystar right up until he took his place on the Great Rock. He sat on the edge of Riverclan's side of the gathering, waiting for Windclan. At this point, he was shamelessly doing so. If anyone in Riverclan had something to say, then by all means they could say it.

The swirling wind around them seemed just as tumultuous as Perchfall's thoughts as she strode into Fourtrees with her Clan. Like an avalanche, the sheer amount of information that had been learned over this moon seemed to rumble along behind them, casting another shadow over the already dim evening. The deputy was not looking forward to this Gathering in the slightest. Tensions were already mounting, and with the newest discovery, it was probably time for another passive aggressive argument atop the Great Rock. What fools everyone sometimes seemed... and yet, Perchfall knew herself to be no smaller of a fool. Why else would she continue to masquerade in this position, sitting stoically as her emotional whirlwind of a leader did whatever he pleased? Why did she have so little influence over RiverClan-- so little influence over her own life? Instinctually, as she wandered in, she glanced around for Ashflight. The one cat that she knew cared for her. No, wait. Not the only one.

Glancing down, she saw her newest apprentice Poppypaw. "Enjoy your first Gathering," the she-cat mewed gently, her voice stoic but kind. "Make some friends. Everyone will love you. I need to go sit with the other deputies." Though I would so much rather sit with you. Away from all the judging stares and superior puffed-up chests.... Yet, with a nod, Perchfall settled at the base of the Great Rock, feeling some unknown dread tingle up her spine at the strange energy surrounding the clearing.

As Jaystar led them into the Gathering, Hollyleaf followed close by. She kept an eye out for the other clans, although only SkyClan seemed to be currently present. Were they the second to arrive?  She'd cast a glance over to Beaverpaw, as if reassuring her she'd be there if needed, then moved away to pick a spot of her own. Briefly scanning through the growing crowd of cats, she looked for Hollypaw (not yet known to her as Hollyshine), though was unsuccessful at it. Had she come this Gathering?

Poppypaw had stuck close to Perchfall on the journey to Fourtrees. Excitement thrummed through her veins, so dizzying that her pawpads felt numb. She could smell so many unfamiliar scents--the other clans, she guessed. She had yet to get close to any of the other territories, and she certainly hadn't met any cats from other clans. But now that she was here, she could do just that.

She looked up at Perchfall and smiled brightly. Her tail was standing on end, vibrating with eagerness. "Okay!" she said, already moving to bound away and speak with other cats. She turned back for a moment and added, "I'll tell you all about it on the way back! Have fun!"

After giving a final grin to her mentor, she raced into the thick of the other cats, eager to find anyone else who wants to say hi to her.

His coat was not nearly thick enough to weather the weather, he would say with a grin, if only someone were about to hear his incredible sense of humour. Huffing to himself, the new warrior carefully padded in the pawsteps of those in front of him, eyes trained on the apprentices that flocked about; only slightly amused by the way his mindset went from one of them, to him being older and needing to watch over them. The cold sent another chill down his spine, and he was grateful as they filed over the crest, eyes narrowing as he realised they were the second to arrive. This is going to take all night, Aspenblaze thought with an ill-tempered snort, choosing to settle alone but still close enough to leech warmth from other cats, cursing his thin fur. As he waited for more cats to follow suit, he gazed skyward, listening to the clack of branches in the wind. A worming feeling of dread began to grow at the way the moon seemed to wane behind cloud cover and the tom hoped no clan would break the truce in light of the cold they all faced.

Pinepaw padded over into the Fourtrees, Seeing it in it's Glory once again, He sat down under some Leaves, Before getting up again to look around for a cat to chat with.

Stoatstar's fur bristled along his shoulders and he had to force it to lay flat. He was not a creature that easily lost his temper. Although the leader could be prickly at times, or even a tad snappish, the little tom was not a warrior that often felt true anger. That had changed when Thrushnose had been attacked. Previously, he'd snorted at Skyclan for letting such a monster roam untamed but it had hardly been Thunderclan's problem. Now it had become personal in the most condemning way.

As he lead the clan to the gathering, he fought to keep his composure. The leader found his pace quickening, though, and mind worried with furious thoughts. When they got to the edge of the clearly, he almost didn't stop and paused just in time. Eyes scanned the crowd and with a deep breath, he gave the signal to join the rest of the clans. Stoatstar headed straight for the great rock and leaped up next to the other leaders. He sidled up next to Bloodstar and sat back on his haunches, "You and I will have to chat after announcements are done. My clan has finally become acquainted with your missing ward." Although the words were light, his tone was flat and his tail tip twitched behind him.

Appledapple sauntered into the Gathering, fully in the middle of the tightly-knit group of bodies that was ThunderClan. Normally, she wasn't excited for these monthly rage-fests. However, despite the drama that was already thick in the air around them, something felt... different about tonight. A strange chill to the frigid air. Something that wasn't usually there. And though she saw a few other cats struggling with the weight of it, she liked it. It seemed almost friendly to her. Everything was already so weird, why not welcome the creeping feeling up her spine like an old friend? That aside, she saw-- with some concern and mostly understanding-- Stoatstar's rage as he jumped onto the Great Rock. Their Clan couldn't really catch a break, could it? Though Appledapple had no great love for Thrushnose, she was still a Clanmate who had never done her any wrong. The amount of threats out there in the forest... it had almost been enough to make her stay home to protect camp. Almost.

Atalante could not help the anxiety she felt as Thunderclan filed into the hollow... What had they called it, fourtrees? It was an accurate name. The scent of many other cats filled the hollow, and gazing around, Atalante noted the cats on the large rock near the center of the clearing-

Oh, the dark brown, heavily scarred tom. Recognition flickered in her eyes, and Atalante quickly lowered her gaze, sticking close to her newfound clanmates. She and her siblings... Foxdung, he was a leader then, if he was somehow standing after that attack she and her siblings had participated in. Shadowclan didn't seem to be here yet... And Atalante's ears pinned back against her skull at the thought. Their warriors would surely recognize her and her siblings tonight. She was going to make an effort to keep her head down and stay hidden behind larger clanmates as best she could.

Feathersky arrived at the gathering with the rest of Riverclan. This was Feathersky's first gathering as a warrior. She looked around for other warriors to talk to as everyone was arriving, waiting for the leaders to start this moon's gathering.

Swanmist arrived quietly, with the rest of her new clan. It was hard to believe that she had already been to two gatherings as a Thunderclan cat, yet Thunderclan cats still hated her guts. And Riverclan might still be looking for me... Aand... Riverclan is already here, just my luck... She narrowed her eyes. Y'know what, Riverclan? She thought, deciding to sit up a bit straighter.
