Talis's Tails' Tales

Shimmerdust is quite tall and lithe, as if her body was built for leaping through trees instead of swimming. However, she has no trouble with swimming either. She doesn't have much strength, most of that replaced by agility. Her eyes are both a clear, shimmering blue.  

Shimmerdust has a mainly white pelt, with black markings on her ears, face, paws, and tail. This earned her her name, as the white and black makes her look as if she was shimmering. Her fur is quite short.

Shimmerdust walks with her head low, making it clear she didn't want to talk. Her steps are small, and while she glances up every second, the movement is so fast and small that it can be easily missed.

Shimmerdust has a number of scars on her pelt from her battle against Adderpaw. They aren't really noticeable, but they are quite a large amount. They don't actually affect her physically.

A quiet, shy she-cat, Shimmerdust prefers not to socialise with others. She rarely ever talks, and when she does it's in a soft voice that is barely audible.

Shimmerdust is very insecure. She dislikes others telling her that she was awful, but she knew they had a point. What was the point of her existence? She was just one cat amongst a crowd of hundreds of others. Nothing special about her. She was a nobody and she knew it.

Shimmerdust likes to help others. She will try her best to help, but she would never voluntarily talk to do so.


KITHOOD
Shimmerkit's mother, Roseleaf, died giving birth to her. She spent her kithood waiting for Apprenticeship, so she could actually do something. She hoped she could achieve something that gave her significance, or at least, that she wouldn't die a nobody. However, she quickly became less and less social, not talking as much as the other kits. She simply couldn't understand social cues well enough. Like this, it was too easy for her to fade into the background.

APPRENTICESHIP
Her Apprentice Ceremony was a relief when it finally came, and surprisingly, she was assigned Ivystar as a Mentor. After becoming Ivystar's Apprentice, Shimmerpaw hoped things would get better for her. It did not.

During a hunt with Snowflight, Shimmerpaw found to her dismay that she had the same success rate in hunting as Snowflight did. That didn't do wonders for her confidence.

She had only been trying to relax out one night when Adderpaw came and proceeded to beat her up. That gave Shimmerpaw a number of scars that are minor, but left a mark.

Shimmerpaw's worst flaw in her insecurity was realised when Flashpaw, a fellow Apprentice, picked on her. Shimmerpaw was a pureblood RiverClan cat as well, so why did Flashpaw act superior? In fact, Addershade's only stepping in after Mousepaw got involved, and not when Flashpaw was visibly hurting Shimmerpaw, was the last straw. Shimmerpaw fled the scene, almost in tears. She was nobody. Addershade didn't even care for her. Flashpaw was his Apprentice! He could have stepped in for Shimmerpaw, but he didn't because she simply didn't matter to him! Nobody would want her over Flashpaw...

The arrival of SkyClan at the RiverClan camp was a welcome thing. While they were more people to socialise with, it was a distraction from Shimmerpaw's current troubles. In fact, she was able to make a number of friends there.

During her Moonstone Journey, Shimmerpaw met Troutstep. While it was slightly awkward since neither really wanted to talk, Shimmerpaw decided to ask Troutstep for advice regarding her feelings of inferiority, and he was actually able to give surprisingly good advice. Shimmerpaw was admittedly impressed. It put her in a better mood, and a better mental state, for quite a while. Maybe she did matter to some people after all.

TIER 1 WARRIOR
While in her better mental state, Shimmerpaw went through her Warrior Ceremony, being promoted to Shimmerdust. She finds the name a little ironic since dust is known to be insignificant. However, she is quite happy so it doesn't matter. Besides, Willowpaw attended!

When news about kits going missing came around, Shimmerdust was nervous as she saw how anxious Ivystar was. She volunteered to join a search patrol, but it didn't work at all. Later on at the Gathering, Ivystar accused Wolfcall of stealing RiverClan's kits, much to Shimmerdust's chagrin. Shimmerdust didn't agree with that thought in the slightest and made it clear to Willowpaw and Tigerpaw.

TIER 2 WARRIOR
The Asylum attacked the clans. Shimmerdust opted to keep herself passive, not trying to stir up any trouble. She kept her dislike of the Asylum deep in her heart. She did not appreciate having to drag other cats along for patrols either since she liked to do patrols on her own.

Once, when Streamtail pulled Shimmerdust along for a patrol, Shimmerdust was quite chilly to Duran, the Asylum cat who came along. Nothing personal, she treated all cats like that. Then Duran revealed he was Ashpaw, and Streamtail apparently knew him. Shimmerdust kept her guard up though. Suddenly, an eagle attacked the group, nearly carrying Shimmerdust away. Duran stepped in to help with the fight and treat Shimmerdust's wounds. Shimmerdust figured she should cut him some slack after that.

Shimmerdust was given an Apprentice, Creampaw. She brought her out for a hunting patrol, teaching Creampaw how to catch rodents since it was Leaf-Bare, before a goose attacked them.

Quite thin and lithe, Willowdance is able to easily make her way through trees and vegetation. Her body is built for jumping and climbing. She has a pair of large, gentle green eyes. Most of the time, she is seen with a lively and happy smile on her face.

Willowdance has a tan tabby colouring, meaning that her pelt is of a brownish colour, with black stripes all over it. Some have joked that she blends into the trees so well no one can notice her. Of course, that doesn't actually happen.

Willowdance walks with a bounce in her steps. Joyful and lively, she leaps and bounds all around. She likes to move with large movements, so it's fairly difficult to be ignorant of her approach. She is only quiet when hunting, in fact.

Gentle and helpful, Willowdance strifes to help others to the best of her ability. She is sweet and very sensitive to the feelings of others. She has sometimes suppressed her own feelings in order to help others with theirs.

However, Willowdance can also be very emotional at times. When she is scared, she will instantly burst into tears. The only thing that has stopped Willowdance from crying is her love and care for others.

Willowdance is also quite easily swayed by the opinions of others. She really can't bear to disagree with anyone.



KITHOOD
Not long after Willowkit was born, her parents went missing. She didn't have much memories of them, and for the longest time, she assumed all Kits were like her. The discovery that her parents were dead didn't dent her cheerful demeanor, and she carried on being her cheerful self, playing with all the other kits happily.

APPRENTICESHIP
When her Apprentice Ceremony came, she was a little reluctant to leave her happy kithood but also excited to start learning from her Mentor, Swansong.

Willowpaw was a little...traumatised after an owl attack during her first hunting patrol with Swansong. After managing to defeat the owl with Swansong's help, she burst into tears right after. Thanks to Swansong's motherly instincts, they began to forge an even closer bond.

Just as Willowpaw had settled down in her new life, however, a fire approached camp. She fled with the other cats, the shock stopping her from crying and somehow making her calm for once. She ran to the Twolegplace with the rest of SkyClan. After that, she began crying herself to sleep at night. She also began getting nightmares. However, she still put on a brave front to try and comfort others, specifically Sunflower. She was also able to forge a bond with Yarrowkit, who asked her for help with confidence in talking to Sagelight.

Later on, RiverClan found the SkyClan warriors, and they went to stay with RiverClan. Willowpaw was thankful for their hospitality and wasted no time in trying to make friends with them.

Willowpaw was promoted to Willowdance while the Drama of the Missing Kits were going on. She found the name absolutely beautiful and reminiscent of a willow swaying in the wind. She couldn't wait to tell Shimmerdust about it.

Amberfluff is of a fairly average size, leaning towards being stocky and muscular. This allows her to run fast and hit quite hard. She has a pair of icy green eyes that can be seen darting around.  

Amberfluff's pelt is primarily white, with orange splotches all over, especially the large patch of orange down the back of her neck. The contrasting colours make her stand out easily.

Whenever Amberfluff walks, her eyes can be seen darting from left to right, as she makes sure to take in everything around her. Thus, it isn't uncommon to see her randomly stumble over her feet because she got dizzy from looking everywhere.

To everyone outwardly, Amberfluff is an observant and emotionless cat. She doesn't seem to have any emotions and sees the world around her as a specimen to study and learn about.

However, that attitude is a mask that Amberfluff puts on in order to make others take her more seriously. She is deathly scared of others not taking her seriously due to her playfulness, so she locks the playfulness away behind an emotionless mask.

Underneath the mask, Amberfluff is a playful cat, with a love for exploration. Of course, not to the point of hurting herself or others.

To get through the mask, you typically need to become a very close friend to her.



KITHOOD
When Amberkit first left the Nursery, she nearly got a sensory overload as she spun around, trying her best to take everything in. She eventually managed to fix her eyes on one thing and settled down. This was an important lesson for her that would come in handy later.

Amberkit learned one other important thing from kithood: If you want to be taken seriously, never display playfulness. This is what led to her bottling up her emotions later on.

One day, out of nowhere, Amberkit found Aspenheart on the ground. His body was cold, and he smelled like Fresh-Kill. This was the first time Amberkit had seen death, and she carried the memory with her.

APPRENTICESHIP
Apprenticeship brought about nothing new. Amberpaw was quite indifferent to her "upgrade".

Once, due to a misunderstanding, Amberpaw accidentally crossed the border between WindClan and RiverClan while trying to see if she could cross the Gorge. That sparked a fight between her and Flashpaw. She was able to stun Flashpaw and flee, but the visit left a sour impression of Flashpaw on Amberpaw.

Amberpaw also tried out a hunt in the Tunnels. It didn't turn out too well, with Amberpaw finding a snake. She tried fighting it, but ultimately decided that retreating was the way to go.

When the WindClan kittens went missing, Amberpaw was nervous and a little fidgety about the matter. Thus, she offered to go along with Clearstone when he decided to set up a patrol.

TIER 1 WARRIOR
Despite the Missing Kits crisis, Olivestar was still able to find the time to give Amberpaw a Warrior Ceremony, bringing her from Amberpaw into Amberfluff. Amberfluff has mixed feelings about the name, proud for it being her warrior name but also feeling that no one would take her seriously with that name.

Soon after, the Asylum arrived, taking over WindClan. Amberfluff didn't join in the immediate fighting back as her sense of self-preservation was strong. Around this point in time, she began growing close to Lilacpaw, a fellow Apprentice about the same age as she was.

Life with the Asylum was no easier, but Amberfluff managed. Her emotions for Lilacsong-or now Lilacstar, rather, she grew fast-was complicated and extremely confusing. She much preferred to just ignore it. Olivestar had gone missing and Lilacstar had stepped up. When Dayspring was appointed Deputy, though, Amberfluff felt an extreme amount of jealousy that she couldn't comprehend. Why wasn't she happy for Dayspring? What did she have against her?

Ichtaca is much, much smaller than a cat should usually be at her age. She is visibly thin and short, and is quite physically weak because of it. She had a pair of eyes that are green in the middle and yellow around it.

Ichtaca has black patches around the two sides of her back, and black patches down her back. The rest of her fur is white. Her tail is also completely black. She had medium-length fur. She wears the pelt of a white rabbit over her body. The pelt she once wore had been dumped by the she-cat.

Ichtaca walks with a slight stumble in her steps. She is much, much more prone to falling over than average cats.

Ichtaca is born a runt, so she was always much weaker than normal cats. Smaller, more prone to falling, always a lot worse at surviving on her own.

Truthfully speaking? If Ichtaca could, she wouldn't be in the Asylum at all. She would be far, far away, staying out of all of this. However, due to her inability to survive on her own, she can't just leave the Asylum.

Ichtaca takes pity on the Clan cats-after all, their clans had just been invaded out of nowhere-and would very much like to help. However, she knows that she can't survive on her own and definitely doesn't want the Asylum to kick her out, thus she can't openly help the clans. The most she could do is secretly give them information, and even so, she has to be very careful to not be discovered. After Murkystrike's trial, Ichtaca had basically disowned Asylum as they had disowned her. She no longer cares about what they think of her. She is openly on the clan cats' side now.

Ichtaca cares for her own survival first and foremost, but she will do anything not threatening to her own survival to help the clans.



BEFORE ASYLUM
Born to Rogue parents in the wild, Ichtaca's parents went missing a long time ago. She was forced to join a group of Rogues and relied on them as much as possible to stay alive. One day, the Asylum came upon them and attacked them, forcing all the Rogues to either join them or run. Ichtaca decided to join them, knowing she couldn't survive otherwise.

IN ASYLUM
Ichtaca found herself having absolute difficulty in the Asylum. Despite knowing that she has to pretend to be like them, she was unable to attack other cats like the Asylum cats, both due to her physical issues and her morality. Thus, she became a Pelt Ward due to her inability to be any better.

WITH THE CLANS
Arriving at the clans, Ichtaca became fast friends with Murkystrike, who seemed to empathise with her. Murkystrike taught Ichtaca how to hunt and fight in a way that didn't require brute force. However, due to this, Murkystrike was imprisoned by the Asylum.

In a fit of rage, Ichtaca threw away her rabbit pelt, her only connection to Asylum. She wanted to become a clan cat like any other. She no longer trusted the Asylum as they could no longer trust her. She didn't want to be one of them anymore.

After the defeat of Asylum, Ichtaca chooses to leave the clans and live on her own. She had learned how to live on her own from Murkystrike, and she didn't want to go back to relying on others as much as she wanted to join the Oasis. She greets goodbye to her friends first before leaving.

Hopegiver is a small cat with a tuxedo pattern like her mother's. Her pelt is mainly black, but with white on her belly, front and back paws, and face. She has some fuzzy fur on her body. Her eyes are green, but they seem tinted with amber in certain light conditions.

Even after Hopegiver grew, she was still shorter and thinner than other cats her age. Not as small as her mother, but just smaller.

Hopegiver bounces about with an absurd amount of energy 100% of the time. She is always bright and cheerful, bringing a smile with her everywhere she goes. She rarely, if ever, cries.

The light of the dark, Hopegiver is a bundle of joy and happiness who seeks to bring the same joy and energy to others. She is very talkative as well, especially with others who need help carrying conversations. She always makes sure to make others at ease, and if possible, cheerful.

However, she also ends up being a bit of a pushover due to placing others before herself. She never seems to get upset and always says something positive about a situation, though she is sensible enough and good enough at reading the mood to not make horrible mistakes.



KITHOOD
Hopekit was born to Ichtaca and another Rogue. She grew up to Ichtaca's fond storytelling of her time in the clans. Ever since she was young, she had been curious about the clans and wanted to go to them. At about 5 Moons, Ichtaca finally allowed her to go to the clans and set her down in ShadowClan territory, where Hopekit was found by Murkystrike, Mistyfalcon, Rosethorn, and Webpaw.

Dreamfire is built wide and tall, but not particularly muscular. Most of her stature is owed to her bone structure, rather than the presence of muscle or fats. However, Dreamfire is strong enough to carry a few small kits-or, if she tries, one Apprentice-on her back.

Dreamfire's pelt is a bright, fiery reddish-orange shade. Darker, brownish stripes line her fur at points. Her eyes are a dark brown. The insides of her ears are a fleshy colour.

Dreamfire looks around in an alert manner all the time. She stands in a tensed manner, ready to shoot out at any moment. Her reaction speed can only be described as legendary.

Despite being young, Dreamfire is quite a grumpy cat. Perhaps not the best with humour, she's the kind to facepalm and roll her eyes as she watched kits joke around and play. She is a Permaqueen not for the fun parts, but rather for the purpose of looking out for other kits.

That being said, she does a nice job of keeping kits safe, such as making sure short-furred kits don't go out too much during colder Moons. She falls asleep far later than all Kits and wakes up far earlier. Dreamfire's primary concern is ensuring the safety of Kits and Queens, though she subconsciously considers Queens secondary.

The moment something happens that can be considered a danger, Dreamfire is 100% leaping in to either get the kit away or fight back the danger. She's good at thinking of a solution on the spot for the problem as well.


BEFORE RP
Parents-Stickbug (father) and Flaxglade (mother)-got impulsive and decided to have kits, but quickly realised how bad an idea that was when they saw the size of the litter. There were 6 kits total-Dreamkit, Asterkit, Markedkit, Pumakit, Cormorantkit, and Loachkit. Flaxglade and Stickbug found it difficult to take care of all of them. Cormorantkit and Loachkit ended up dying before 1 Moon because they weren't given enough care by Flaxglade. Dreamkit wasn't old enough to know what was happening, but she got the idea that something big was happening thanks to her parents. This spurred her to be overprotective over any kit she sees later on in life.

The other four survived to Apprenticeship. During Apprenticeship, Markedpaw died after eating a squirrel that turned out to be crow-food. This caused Dreampaw to be paranoid over squirrels, though she tried not to show it.
Dreampaw wasn't a good Apprentice. She was willing to learn but lacked the capabilities of a Warrior.

When Dreampaw finally managed to crawl her way into her Warrior ceremony, later than all her siblings, she decided there and then the life of a Warrior was not for her. After becoming a Warrior, Dreamfire spent most of her time around the Nursery until she found the confidence to ask to become a Permaqueen. Her request was accepted by the leader, and Dreamfire became one of the only Permaqueens in ThunderClan.
