Hopekit's Apprentice Ceremony

The kit that Murkystrike and the rest of the patrol had found had been older, and it wasn't long before she was of the age to be apprenticed. She had spent the last several nights preparing herself - Hopekit was not the first kit she had adopted to be named an apprentice, but it didn't make it any easier knowing that she had to make the right choice for a mentor. As much as she loved Hopekit and Ravenpaw, she wanted to choose a mentor that would guide them and teach them well, so they could grow not only physically in their skill but also emotionally. The fact that Hopekit was Ichtaca's daughter only lent itself to the idea that she should be the one to train her, a thought that lingered in the back of her mind as she climbed up Jaggedrock. "ShadowClan! Gather in the shadow of the Jaggedrock."

Hopekit scrambled forwards as the call came, bright eyes glinting. Just from how Murkystrike looked, she could tell that today was perhaps a ceremony day-and it was easy to guess that it would be hers. She went up to the fromt of the crowd, gazing up at Murkystrike with an encouraging smile and a "you can do it!" look on her face as she patiently awaited the next words.

Hopekit appeared, and Murkystrike smiled softly as she watched her approach the front of the gathering crowd. When the kit smiled up at her, she returned it before raising her head once again to address the clan, breaking the eye contact for a brief moment. "ShadowClan, I've gathered you all here today to join me in welcoming another kit to the rank of an apprentice. Hopekit, please step forward." With the she-kit towards the front of the crowd, Murkystrike didn't wait very long before continuing, just long enough for her to step forward and take her place in front of the clan.

"Hopekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and are ready to become an apprentice. Until the day you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Hopepaw. Batglow will be your mentor. He is determined and strong, and I trust that he will share those traits with you through your training." As much as she had wanted to train Hopepaw herself, or ask Mistyfalcon to, she trusted Batglow with her life as well as her adopted kit's. She would be in good paws under his care, and with how well he had taught Rosethorn, she was confident that he would do well for Hopepaw as well.

At the call of his name, Batglow perked up before standing and moving towards the front to meet his new apprentice. Hopekit huh? It was going to be interesting that was for sure. The lanky warrior grinned at Hopepaw, as he stepped up to her. "Look forward to training you."
