Beautiful Crazy [Open]

The Asylum had departed, and peace had settled over the forest. The chill that had enveloped the Clans had lifted, the sun's warmth bringing the promise of Newleaf. And with the change of the seasons, a new generation is born, along with the joy of two first-time mothers. Now, nestled inside the nursery for the first time since she was a kit, the leader of WindClan rested with two tiny bundles of fur pressed close to her. One was a tom, a gray tabby who seemed to boast her own abundance of fur. The other kit, a she-cat, with a beautiful tortoiseshell coat.

Blue eyes met green as Lilacstar beckoned Amberfluff in. "Come meet your new kits. We have a family, now, Amberfluff!" She was fighting back tears as she was so happy. She finally got everything she wanted! She was a mother, and she got to raise these kits alongside the love of her life. There was no better feeling than what she felt in this moment.

"What should we name them? I was thinking Silverkit for this one. He has such lovely fur, so silky and soft. What do you think?"

"I wanna see them!" A soft wail escaped the far side of the nursery where Muddykit was attempting to clamber over his mom. His brown eyes were glimmering with excitement even as Hayglow managed to knock him off of her every time he nearly made progress in his escape. As another paw swept him to the ground, he kicked and wiggled as Hayglow managed to pin him. "Noooo! I wanna go say hi! They are family, aren't they?"

Hayglow let out a tired sigh, leaning down to give her son a few licks. It... Was true - the new kits, whatever Lilacstar and Amberfluff decided to name them, were family...To Muddykit and Sunnykit as least. She had been a...Little surprise to hear who the true father of Lilacstar's litter was but she knew she couldn't be angry or anything - she had made a simple enough deal with Fawnstep. Of course he would make similar deals if other cats needed help with making kits. It just...It was going to take a little time to come to terms with. "I know, but Lilacstar and Amberfluff need space. If, if, they allow it - you may visit the kits later but you need to promise to be gentle."

"Gentle?" A gasp escaped Muddykit as he glared up at his momma, tail thumping against the ground. "I-I'm the most gentle cat you eve-" his lie died in his throat as Hayglow fixed him with a tired glare. His ears slicked back, wrapping his paws around Hayglow's as he stopped fighting the pin. "...Fine, yeah, I get it. Gentle. Whatever that means," he grumbled. He didn't get it. He was always told to play nicer, be more gentle, but he knew that he wouldn't mind being played with as... 'Rough' as he tended to go. He just didn't get why other kits would cry about it 'hurting.' It didn't hurt! They were just babies...

The orange and black ball of fluff mewled wordlessly beside her mother. Sight and sound were lost on the tiny creature. All she had was the feeling of soft and warm. The twinge of damp from something that touched her back. It wasn’t unpleasant, it soothed her while she fumbled about.

It wasn’t until she lay at her mother’s belly that she knew what she had been looking for. The comfort of the larger cat beside her, the warmth of the den, full of life though she had no way to really know it. Ears still sealed flat to her head, tiny tail wiggled with every little movement of her body. For now, Quailkit could only see life as perfect.

The newly named Silverkit wriggled and mewed with a vigorous aura, tiny body warmly pressed against his sister's. The little tom-kit was already exhibiting such tireless energy that may or may not stay with him as he grows. His face pushed into his mother's belly as he greedily drank the milk she provided.

Silverkit knew of nothing else but the warmth and coziness he felt at that moment. The world outside his little bubble of contentment didn't matter to him. He was being fed and being kept comfortable. It's all he could ask for and more. However, that didn't stop the gray tabby kitten from expressing a bit more of his wild side as he wiggled and burrowed even further into the surrounding fur, as if trying to merge with it. As soon as he was truly comfortable, he finally settled down.

Amberfluff dashed into he Nursery the moment Lilacstar allowed her in. She dropped off a rabbit she had brought for her mate just in front of the other she-cat, nicely within reach, before sliding over to check out the duo of Kits. She felt her heart pounding. Will the Kits accept her as their other mother? Of course, as they're Kits, they wouldn't know most cats have a father and a mother. But when the day comes when they inevitably asks them, what will she do?

She took another long look at the pair of Kits and promptly kicked all her worries out of her head. She's earned it. It was time for her to take a little time from her thoughts and enjoy the moment. Smiling, she gave each Kit a gentle sniff, taking in and noting down their scents. She then hesitated, unsure of what else to do. All at the same time, she kept one eye out for Muddykit-she knew that he was...not the gentlest of cats.

"Silverkit sounds fine for this one. And the other one..." Amberfluff thought hard and pinpointed the first word that came to mind. "Quailkit, maybe?"
