Shimmering Dewlight [CLOSED]

Shimmerdust was in the mood for hunting. The fact that she couldn't do so on her own dampened her mood a little, but surprisingly not enough to deter her completely. She was very surprised by herself as well. Usually she wasn't so motivated. Then again, it made sense that she was tempted to go hunting without the surveillance of an Asylum cat over her shoulder-even if she had to grab a clanmate for the hunt.

"Anyone wants to go hunting?" She called to her clanmates.

"I'll join, if you'll have me!" Dewlight purred, walking up to Shimmerdust with a bright smile. "It's a beautiful day, we should have some good luck!" She added, shaking her pelt free of some clinging reeds from where she had been sunning moments before.

Shimmerdust eyed Dewlight. She had nothing in particular against the other she-cat, and she guessed she was better defence than having nobody. "Sure, I guess." She hoped Dewlight won't keep up with that attitude all the way during the hunt. She probably wouldn't have the patience to stand constant chatter.

Leading the way, Shimmerdust trotted out of camp. She found herself catching the scent of prey, which she soon discovered to be a bird. It was truly going to be Newleaf, she noted, since the birds were coming out. Other animals should follow soon after too.

She left Dewlight to stalk after the bird. A quick moment was taken to aim, then she pounced. Unfortunately, she just barely missed as the bird fluttered away.

Dewlight followed behind Shimmerdust, enjoying the sunshine on her pelt. Shimmerdust hadn't seemed to respond, and the she-cat wondered if her clanmate had slept on a thorn. Making a mental note to check the nests once she got back to camp, she realized suddenly that the other warrior was gone. A moment later, there was the sound of flapping wings as a bird took off out of the reeds, and following it's path down she saw Shimmerdust standing empty-pawed. Dewlight kept quiet, although she did offer a small nod to the warrior. Hopefully Shimmerdust would have better luck next time! The scent of a water vole caught her nose, and she followed it carefully, tracking it to the water's edge. There the small creature sat unaware of the cat hovering just behind it. Dewlight pounced, and caught the vole swiftly. Standing back up, she carried the vole back towards their path and carefully hid it under some reeds.
