As many of you know, there have been some major changes on the site as of late. Some of these changes have resulted in taking down the Battle System thread (more information can be found here) as requested by Ripped. There are now requests being made to return to the older Battle System before Ripped worked on it and remove all of Ripped's influence from the current System before reinstating it. Staff and volunteer helpers are currently working...

I had planned on waiting a while longer before addressing everything so there was time to let the dust settle, but there are a few major changes that need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Earlier today Ripped reached out to me in DMs regarding her contributions towards the site as a whole and how she would like us to proceed with it.

The Staff Team wanted to address concerns about lack of concrete things being pushed out on the site for the time being. This includes mentions of a slower response time in the #help-desk channel on Discord - which we have still been working to address quickly - but also includes a lack of immediate patches or changes to the site.

As of right now, we are in the middle of a massive restructure to the site, including the addition of many new systems that were not currently in place and should have already been implemented.

Staff would like to announce that effective immediately, we will no longer be using anonymous forms for surveys on WCC.

Anonymous Surveys were started as a means for honest feedback to be provided to Staff, and while a good portion of our userbase has used it as intended, there has been a trend of misuse. Surveys have been used to harass Staff and HRs, or Anon Comments to speak poorly of others without consequences. All of these violate our code of conduct, which is why we are hopeful the changes below will help to improve our community standards and uphold the rules...

There’s been a lot of concern over how to handle the recent dip in the population of certain Clans, and after discussing how to approach the issue as a team we’ve come to a decision: as a one-time event, we will be temporarily introducing a single-use fourth standard character slot, referred to as a Bonus Slot.

This slot is entirely separate from the existing T5 slot, Perma-NPC slot, and Elder/Queen slot, and will function as an extra slot in addition to your main three cats.

Recently, the Battle System was removed at the request of Ripped; who claimed responsibility for creating its current version. As you know, there has been an ongoing investigation regarding code theft on our site. On WCC, we highly value artistic integrity and giving credit to the original creator of artwork/templates/etc. Our own investigation into the matter has found that the permission was never granted to use these templates, and there was insufficient evidence to support the idea that Kiikko truly didn't know they had been stolen. As a result, Kiikko has been banned, and after three months they must submit an appeal to staff to consider if they can return to the site as well as the Discord server.

In the interest of transparency, we wanted to make you all aware of a case of multi-accounting that has been discovered by staff. As per our main site rules, only one account is allowed per user. In the past few days, our team was reached out to by another roleplay forum, letting us know that templates that have been widely used on our forum for months have been used improperly without credit to the original creators. As a site, we take any form of art theft very seriously. This includes any form of taking another person's work and passing it off as your own without permission to do so and/or without permission to do so, which is plagiarism.
