Staff would like to announce that effective immediately, we will no longer be using anonymous forms for surveys on WCC.

Anonymous Surveys were started as a means for honest feedback to be provided to Staff, and while a good portion of our userbase has used it as intended, there has been a trend of misuse. Surveys have been used to harass Staff and HRs, or Anon Comments to speak poorly of others without consequences. All of these violate our code of conduct, which is why we are hopeful the changes below will help to improve our community standards and uphold the rules...

A few changes have been made on the Battle Systems + Rules Page:

- Disabled cats not being able to use Clan moves has been removed, allowing for the roleplayer to now roleplay out how their disabled cat will use a Clan move.

- Max-rank elders (previously T5 Warriors and T4 Medicine Cats) get to retire with their max-rank stats.

As we have had our recent changes on our staff team, it has left a vacant spot that we have needed to fill. Reaper's departure from the team meant that a lot of experience and knowledge unfortunately departed alongside them, and while we feel strong, we still felt that loss. As staff, we're always keeping an eye on things the community may be interested in changing. Taking into account some of the feedback that we've seen consistently over time, and how it may be controversial, we'd like to take a community vote. So, as some of you have seen in the previous announcement, disputed territories had been reset. However, it has brought a significant flaw in the system to our attention. It has been on staff's radar to rework the disputed territory system for some time, and now we have been reminded of why. As of this moment, until our rework has been completed, all debuffs and buffs of holding disputed territories do not apply. Territories can still be held by those who claimed them, but they will provide no IC benefit.

After months of adventure and turmoil, the Clans have returned home and their mysterious illnesses are on the mend. However, not all is well, there are plenty of rogues roaming the previously abandoned territories, and Leaf-Bare hungry predators on the prowl. While there is still work to be done, and Shadowclan appears to be dealing with their own complications, with the return to the territories the Sitewide is complete!

Every quarter, WCC staff puts out a survey for the community to evaluate and provide feedback to the High Ranks of each Clan. As part of this survey, we ensure responses are anonymous to allow for people who may otherwise feel they do not have a voice to speak up. Unfortunately, it has come to our attention and observation that this privilege has been severely abused. Not only is this an issue as it is against our code of conduct, but has also escalated to the degree of being genuinely harmful towards our users who hold High Ranks and in some cases can be seen as aggressive harassment.

We’ve made an update to the litter limits we’d like to let you all know about. Instead of limiting characters to 2 litters of 5 kits each, the rule has been changed. Now, the rule is that a character may have no more than 10 biological kits, and no more than 3 adopted kits in total. The extra litter form still applies if you’d like more!

As a note, the extra litter form should only be used once you are going to exceed 10...

Leaf-Bare is officially here! Any hunting topics made before the posting of this annoucement will continue to use Leaf-Fall rolls, while hunting topics made after this topic will use Leaf-Bare Rolls! Also due to difficult terrain hunting SP cost has increased from 3 to 5, so remember to keep that in mind when making new hunting posts!

After leaving the forest behind and journeying in the hope to find a suitable place to stay, the clans have finally found the Southern Lake, the place that StarClan had guided them to through their medicine cats. Here, there is a stable prey population, and the land is free of the illness that had struck the forest back at home. Leaf-bare has not yet closed its icy jaws around the Clans but the mountain path they have taken is now too dangerous to traverse back over until New-leaf.

We have noticed Kitty's drive and presence within the community, and that she has done a wonderful job as a Mini-Mod. We are pleased to have her on our team and...

Earlier today it was discovered that a user was using multiple accounts, circumventing the rule of only using one account. Following the discovery the additional accounts have been banned permanently, and the main account has been temporarily banned for two weeks. Once the two weeks are up they will be allowed to return to role-play without issue. If the issue persists then more serious action will be taken.

While we do not wish to out the user involved in the incident, we are sharing this information for transparency purposes, and to keep the community up to date on current happenings....

The user LittleKitten has received a temporary ban as a result of not listening to warnings from staff about rule violations over the span of multiple years (specifically regarding art theft, and more recently the use of AI on site). After receiving a final warning a few months ago, she was told that any further infractions would result in a temporary ban. As she has chosen to continue ignoring the rules even after being warned, she has received a temporary ban of three months.

Once three months have passed she will be able to appeal her ban, and she will be allowed...

Hello WCC! After much discussion the staff team has decided to bring on some extra help in the form of mini-mods. We haven't had any since Grey stepped up to the mod position, and decided it was time to fill the empty space.

Years ago a very helpful survey was created for the site's members to fill out to help determine the activity levels of the Higher Ranks. The results allowed Staff to ensure that active and qualified users were filling the higher ranks which ultimately shape the WCC roleplay experience. We were very interested in the results, and we decided to implement this for the foreseeable future. We are continuing this periodic survey.

Staff will be posting this anonymous Higher Ranks survey once at the beginning of every quarter (January/April/July/October).

Hello WCC, it has come to our attention that the use of AI imaging and writing has increased within the past few months. Staff wants to make it clear that from this point on, the use of AI art, AI face claiming, and AI writing is strictly prohibited. A new rule has been added to our Roleplaying and Character guidelines, found here. If anyone has any questions regarding the use of AI, please message a member of staff!

Recently, a previously banned member, Ebony, has reached out to the staff team regarding a ban appeal, which she was allowed upon her initial ban 11 months ago.

After a discussion with Ebony in a group chat regarding her ban appeal, the staff team has agreed to unban her and allow her to bring her character, Stormsong, back under two conditions. The first, that if any other drama or trouble arises regarding Ebony, that she would be banned permanently...

Something you may or may not know about WCC is that it has been around for a while (like, 15 years or so); and in that time a lot of the systems that we're pretty used to at this point have gone through some updates, both major and minor, as well as just general maintenance. Some of them have even received complete overhauls once or twice. I was curious about what people think of the current systems, based on both personal experiences and some of the conversations I've had about them both in the past and more recently, so here we are!
