The moon rose crisp and cold in a clear black night, but the air was thick and heavy with heat. The Great Oaks of Fourtrees swished, their green crowns fat and full, as the five Clans began to approach.

Fawnspirit followed her mate into the empty clearing, looking around.

Duskfall lead Thunderclan into the clearing tensely, however relaxed by a hair's breath when he saw that there were no Riverclan cats yet. He leapt onto the Great Rock, alongside Breezestar and watched for the other clans to come.

Coalpaw padded in quietly after Duskfall going and padding to take her place where the other medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices would be. The dark she cat sat down and quietly curled her tail around her paws.

Rabbitpaw dashed into the clearing, following behind Fawnspirit. He looked around at the unfamiliar faces, whispering to her in confusion.

"Is this it? Aren't there supposed to be more cats?"

Silkpaw padded quietly behind Duskfall, then walked over to the rest of ThunderClan. Silkpaw sat down, and pinned her ears back. She was so nervous, she shivered. "This is scary..." She whispered to herself.

Sunpelt padded into the clearing. He shivered with excitement. This was his first Gathering as a warrior! He couldn't wait for Duskfall to mention it.

He stopped at the bottom of the steep slope and looked around the clearing, hoping that some cat that was around his age would be there to talk to.

But then Sunpelt sensed a trembling figure behind him. He turned around and saw Silkpaw shaking with fright, looking around like someone would attack her at any moment.

Sunpelt decided to help her get to know warriors and apprentices from other Clans. He bounded over to her, pressed himself against her flank, trying to comfort her. "It's okay, Silkpaw," he murmured quietly. "Would you like me to take you to meet some apprentices from SkyClan?"

"Um, sure, Sunpelt." Silkpaw meowed calmly. She smiled, and purred, "Thanks." She flicked her tail to the SkyClan apprentices. Silkpaw looked over to make sure Sunpelt was there. I feel happier and protected... Silkpaw thought.

Sunpelt nodded. "Okay. Look over there. That's Fawnspirit from SkyClan, and behind her is Rabbitpaw. Let's go meet him. He's pretty nice." He started padding toward the SkyClan apprentice, peering over his shoulder to make sure that Silkpaw was still following him.

Sunpelt dipped his head to the SkyClan apprentice, and mewed, "Good evening, Rabbitpaw. Nice night for the Gathering. Sky is clear..." He looked up at the clear sky, relishing the soft breeze that ruffled his fur. Then Sunpelt nudged Silkpaw, encouraging her to not be shy.

He stepped away from the two apprentices to give them space for talking, deciding that if Silkpaw's conversation with Rabbitpaw went well for the first few heartbeats he would slip away to go talk to Fawnspirit.

"There are, but there are only two clans here, so there'll be more soon." Fawnspirit answered, and turned towards the greetings that sounded near her.
"Good evening to you too, Sunpelt, Silkpaw." she replied, stopping in order to talk.

Lavenderwish followed into the clearing and quietly looked around for a place to sit. There were few cats here, since there were only two clans, but she decided to sit by the Great Rock.

Sunpelt dipped his head to Fawnspirit. "This is Silkpaw's first Gathering, so I introduced her to Rabbitpaw," he explained. "How's it going in SkyClan?" he asked politely.

Silkpaw smiled, and nodded, "It is. I've really never met any of the Clans before." She meowed. "Nice to meet you both," Silkpaw said, "That's right! How is SkyClan doing?"
