Welcome to the second Duties & Patrols for 2024! The rules are simple: post in a posting order, do your duties well, report any problems encountered during the patrol to a leader or deputy, and enjoy! Sootstorm led the group out of their make-shift camp, paws sinking into snow with each step. Nectarflower and Eaglefly were behind him, while Pantherpounce brought up the rear. At last, he paused in his movements to sent the air. Faint prey-scents reached him through the frozen air, and once he had confirmed that there was some life around the area, he signalled for the group to split up. Sootstorm beckoned Pantherpounce forward with his tail. He had not spoken with the young warrior much, and wanted to see for himself his ability and skills. "Are you familiar with hunting in pairs?" He asked simply.

Eaglefly had always been known as a bit of a jokester and prankster in the clan. Little things that would annoy his clanmates but in a non-harming way.
He followed his deputy out on the hunting trip as Sootstorm lead the way.
He glanced at the patrol of all warriors as Sootstorm asked that question... "Nope... we are all helpless kits and have no idea what you could possibly mean by that" he mused sarcastically with a smile and small wink.
He looked at Patherpounce and Nectarflower.
"I guess you can pick who you want to go with" he shrugged and began splitting off from Sootstorm to go look for prey for their clan.

I don't live because I can't die, but I'm chained to something.
Pantherpounce was rather annoyed as he dragged his paws through the snow. Hunting in this weather was nothing close to ideal, but they still needed to eat even though they were on the mountains. He wasn't familiar with the types of prey that occupied the area, but he also wasn't familiar with any of the predators either. He kept his ears pricked in order to pick up the sound of any sudden movements as he brought up the rear. With any luck, they wouldn't have to deal with any sleeping giants that they had disturbed by traveling to the mountains.
He decided to follow after Eaglefly with a slight tail flick to bid a temporary farewell to the other half of the patrol. He kept his pawsteps as light as possible. There was no need to scare off any food because of the crunching sound of the slush under their paws. He was pleased to see a thrush within reach, but he wasn't looking forward to stalking it the disadvantage that he had. Still, he lowered himself down close to the snow and slinked along until he could confidently live up to his name and pounce on the winged creature. Before he could stick the landing, the heavy sound of more wings beating overhead caught his attention. The thrush noticed the shadow that loomed overhead and took off in the opposite direction, causing an irritated Pantherpounce to miss his first catch of the day. What had dared to disrupt his hunt? He whirled around as the aggressor, a rather large white owl, quickly raked its claws against him from above before landing in the snow with a loud crunch. Of course something had to come and make matters worse. He parted his jaws to let out a hiss before shooting forward, claws outstretched to tear out as many feathers as possible.
owl used "talon strike" on pantherpounce, dealing 7 damage and costing 10 stamina. pantherpounce used "jumping strike" on owl, dealing 7 damage and costing 7 stamina.
