I saw a few questions related to this pop up in the Discord, so I wanted to comment and clarify for those who may not be on there or who missed it:

WCC is fine with using references for art-it's simply part of the process! However, if you are still learning and/or are heavily referencing (i.e. tracing over top of an already-existing image to then be able to color in yourself), we ask that you use real-life references only. To use art to do this and then not give credit is considered art theft, and to use AI to do this breaks our AI rule.

On WCC, we definitely value the time and work our artists put into their works very highly! It's certainly unfortunate that this has happened, as we all know LittleKitten as a prominent community member, and appreciate their roleplay contributions to the site.
