Moldkit was glad to finally have a chance to stretch her legs. It was such a lovely day! Recently she'd been feeling poorly from the heat. Well, poorly was putting it mildly, but she refused to admit she had been sick. Saying she was sick sounded so sad and she wasn't about to drag down her mood, nor anyone else's for that matter, by dwelling on such a gloomy topic. The weather had cooled just a bit with the incoming cloud cover, and she couldn't help but admire the way the sunlight broke through the big blue-grey puffs in the sky to mottle the ground with spots of gold. She watched the flickering light dance over the blades of grass surrounding her paws for a long moment, tail swaying slightly in the breeze.

The sight reminded her of something her littermate had said before about her name. Goldenkit. She laughed quietly to herself. Why would she want a fancy name like that? Moldkit suited her perfectly, though she wasn't much of a kit now she supposed. A small part of her wondered if Leopardwind understood why she liked it yet.

Smiling to herself, she continued her little stroll, tail waving high in the air now.

Today was a good day.

Only one of his siblings remained in the nursery now. Moldkit had stayed a kit, plagued by sickness for a period long enough to see him breeze to warriorhood. The black tom was glad, anyhow, to finally see his sister out and about Camp, looking better than she had in ages. The afternoon was cooler, cooler than it had been for more than a moon now. It must have been what allowed Moldkit to gain enough rest to be strolling around Camp now.

Leopardwind dropped his catch at the fresh-kill pile, satisfied with the two plump rabbits he had caught while out. If he were any other warrior, he'd brag about it to his denmates, but catching prey for his Clan was his duty, and there was nothing fancy about doing one's best. He sniffed the fresh-kill pile, lingering for a moment before picking up a shrew gently. He turned around, padding up to the tortoiseshell... well, kit, and placing the mouse down softly before her.

He tried to offer her a kind smile. He wasn't used to it; he found no reason to smile when he didn't need to, but Moldkit always seemed to like smiling, and, well, if it made his sister happy, why wouldn't he do it? The smile didn't last long, however. Leopardwind regarded his sister for a moment before asking rather bluntly, "Do you need me to chew the mouse up for you? If you're not able to consume solid foods yet, I meant." Stars, when was the last time he had felt so awkward? Leopardwind's ear flicked uncomfortably.

"...How have you been, sister? I'm glad to see you're feeling better..." He murmured. His tail flicked restlessly as he watched her. Stars, how he hated her name, but she seemed to like it so much... he didn't understand, was embarrassed by it, but there was nothing he could do about it. She was convinced Moldkit fitted her best... but why wouldn't she want to be Goldenkit, or the best version of her she could be? Was that not what every cat wanted?
