STOATPAW Stoatpaw strode in proudly, chin raised and tail lifted. He'd been allowed to participate in the Mock Battle - not just observe, not just hear about it, but participate! The only issue was... Fennelbreeze, his mother, was on the opposing team. How was he supposed to battle his mother? And Galestorm, the brute - as much as Stoatpaw respected him - would tear him to shreds!
There was no way they'd win. He cast a glance towards Dandelionpaw and frowned to himself. Yep, they would lose for certain. Dandelionpaw was a kind cat, but Stoatpaw had no idea if he's ever make it out of the apprentices' den. The nursery was one thing, but becoming a warrior was another. He'd make a mental note to stick close to the feeble creature during their battle.
As he sat down neatly in the field of flowers, trampling some beneath his posterior, he called across to his mother. "Go easy on us, all right?"

Spiderpaw Apprentice | WindClan | He/Him
Spiderpaw could barely sit still in his excitement, kneading the ground in an attempt to realize some of his pent-up energy. His mentor was on the opposing team, and as tempted to spar with her, it might be better to go up against another apprentice. Not that Spiderpaw cared about winning as long as everyone had fun, but he might last longer if he fought with someone with the same skills as him. Maybe Dandelionpaw? They seemed nice enough. He gave the apprentice a wide, happy grin, a greeting and perhaps a warning that he was targeted for his antics.
He glanced to the warriors on his side, muscles tensed and just waiting for the go-ahead to pounce. He was so ready! Beyond ready! The most ready!

pantherpounce
"the shining spoon to me is someone else's story."
t3 warrior | windclan | he/him
Pantherpounce was quiet as he waited for the signal to start the spar. The apprentices seemed far more excited than he was, but that was only understandable. Everything was exciting in the eyes of an apprentice, after all.

OATFLUFFare you going to age with grace? he/him - t2 windclan warrior
Oatfluff glanced around the small clearing curiously, quietly taking in the cats participating. He'd been invited to take Galestorm's place in the battle, and he'd never turn down a chance to sharpen his battle skills given how absent Quickfrost had been during his training. What if something happened and he needed to defend his Clanmates? The mottled brown tom's ears perked as he took in his teammates. Fennelbreeze, who he'd never spoken with before; Larchpaw, who had been made an apprentice as Oatfluff was finishing his training - and who was admittedly pretty fun; and Spiderpaw, who he didn't know, either. On the opposing side was an apprentice he didn't recognize, the proud Stoatpaw, the ever-sweet Cloudypetal, and the silent and strong Pantherpounce. Oatfluff dipped his head in greeting, smiling softly. Part of him felt an odd need to impress Pantherpounce. Maybe he just wanted to prove himself after the last mock battle he'd lost in after two moves.
"Pfft. You're all going down!" Oatfluff called out, though his tone was more friendly than competitive. He was just happy t0 be here, truthfully! And if they lost - well, it was all in good fun. Though that didn't mean he wouldn't try.
Cloudypetal's eyes sparkled, casting a grin at her apprentice. It'll be hard not to go easy on them, but she already knew her target: Fennelbreeze. It'd give the apprentices time to sort themselves out without a senior warrior taking them out of the battle.
She wasn't bigger than joining Oatfluff's taunts. Trying to hold back a laugh, she called back. "You wish, furball! You can barely place one paw in front of the other." Hoping that he wouldn't take her seriously, she shot him a big smile.
It felt wrong, somehow, to spar in a place as pretty as this. Larchpaw couldn't help frowning slightly as he saw some of the younger apprentices completely trampling the flowers beneath their paws. There were so many hollows and dips in the moors that would be better places; why did they have to fight here? Oh, well. He'd simply have to win in as graceful a fashion as possible. He shook out his multicolored pelt and glanced across the field at Stoatpaw, sizing him up. Hmm, compared to himself? They didn't stand a chance. With what Nectarflower had taught him, it should be pretty easy to win. After all, he was a natural. He shot a grin at Oatfluff's friendly taunts. Good thing they were on the same team! He wouldn't want to fight the guy, not really. Gleaming eyes made their way over to Stoatpaw then. Take it easy, huh? Well... maybe he wouldn't fight too hard. "Don't worry! It'll all be over soon." One golden eye winked.
