Tigerdance looked around at his clan, knowing it was the time of the evening where most cats were sharing tongues. A perfect time for a warrior ceremony, since most of the clan would be there to see it. In truth the leader had been waiting for this day for a while. One of his apprentices was finally earning his warrior name, and Tigerdance couldn't be more thrilled. So he made his way to his usual meeting spot and called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather here for a clan meeting!"

Pantherpaw lifted an ear before striding over to join his Clanmates. Although he hadn't been feeling the best recently, it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. He felt grateful that he was only a little bit under the weather whenever he looked around and noticed that some cats were practically hacking up their own lungs. He wrapped his fluffy tail around his paws and he glanced up at his mentor. This couldn't be bad news, right?

Cloudypaw's eyes sparkled when she heard the familiar phrase from Tigerdance. A clan meeting! She shakily stood up out of her nest in the makeshift medicine cat's den, wobbling towards the entrance. She sat down outside of it, slightly to the left, to allow anyone else to exit. She still felt weak, but she wasn't going to miss a clan meeting if she could help it.

Sootstorm did know what was going on, having had discussed it with Tigerdance, but still he couldn't help the thrill of excitement as the Clan was called together. He still remembered when he had rescued Pantherpaw as a kit from an eagle... how far the tom had come from then. The deputy took his spot, and turned his attention to the rest of his clanmates, all gathered together wondering what was to happen.

Tallshadow squeezed out of the medicine den, the tightly tangled foliage protecting the entrance from the cold scraping against his ears as he ducked his head. The lanky warrior settled in next to Cloudypaw, gently flicking her ear with his long tail in greeting. His short, ragged pelt did little against the biting chill, but he wasn’t in the habit of missing meetings. He focused his hazy attention on Sootstorm, waiting for his father’s announcement.

"Today we are gathered to name another warrior. Our clan grows by the day, and it is a welcome sight to see." The leader told the gathered group before turning to look at his apprentice who sat not to far away. Pride shining in the tom's eyes despite the sickness that dulled them. "Pantherpaw please come forward."
The striped tom waited patiently for his apprentice to come forward, remembering the times they had hunted and patrolled together. Even back to the moment when he was a kit, helping others rescue the kit from an eagle. "Pantherpaw, do you promise to uphold the code, defend and honor Windclan even at the cost of your life?" Tigerdance asked.

To be a warrior... well, that was the moment that every apprentice dreamed of. It was everything that they worked for from the day they started training. When Pantherpaw was a kit, he had been held back from his apprentice ceremony for an abnormal amount of moons and had watched cats his age graduate before him. He wasn't sure if it would happen again, but he was receiving his answer right now. Today he was to receive his full name, and he felt a strong rush of pride fill him from head to toe.
"I do." The large tom said firmly. The last words that he would ever say as an apprentice was a promise to do all he could for WindClan. What was more perfect than that?

Tigerdance nodded, glad to hear his apprentices response. It was firm, with conviction, which is what he expected from all of his warriors. It didn't take long for Tigerdance to give his reply. "Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Pantherpaw from this moment on you will be known as Pantherpounce. Starclan honors your intelligence, and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Windclan." The tom stated, giving the tom a name to be proud of.
Tigerdance moved off his perch and rest his head on top of the new warrior's head. "Congratulations, I'm proud of you." The leader said quietly giving the warrior his own congratulations before the clan covered his words in cheers. With that the leader stepped back to give the clan a chance to come in and honor their new warrior.

Sootstorm always found the look of pleasant surprise on an apprentice's face when their name was called to be extremely heartwarming. He recalled his own warrior ceremony each time, recalling the joy and satisfaction that had coarsed through him when Shrikestar had called him forward and bestowed upon him a new name, one that he would carry for the rest of his life. Sootstorm leapt up from his spot when the ceremony drew to a close, and was among the first cats to cheer out the warrior's new name.

“Pantherp-pounce!” Goldengale cried, only stumbling over her words a little bit as she leapt forwards, knocking her shoulder into the new warrior’s with a huge grin. “Hey hey, lookit you! Wanna go on patrol sometime?”
