Falconpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock, bracing herself against the cold air. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey feather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Falconpaw walked out of the apptentice's den. Was this her ceremony? Her blue eyes peeked up at Ashstar's expression. Just in case, she groomed her pelt quickly.

Ashstar smiled at the apprentice as she walked up. "Falconpaw, please step forwards." Once the tom did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Falconpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Falconpaw's heart was rapidly beating. Her eyes stared at the leader as her ceremony was continuing. This was her day! "I do." she said with total confidence. She would help her clan and defend it with all her being. Windclan was going to be proud of her!

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Falconpaw, from this moment you will be known as Falconbreeze. StarClan honors your warmth and cleverness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head, finishing the ceremony with a respectful smile.

"Falconbreeze!" Brindlewhisker purred, eyes alight with pride as she gazed at the newly-named young she-cat. A plethora of emotions simmered beneath her fur, filling her veins with a contented warmth. Although she often found ceremonies to be bittersweet, the wistful nostalgia rarely detracted from the explosion of adoration. Eagerly trotting up to her daughter, the Deputy happily pressed her muzzle against Falconbreeze's. "Congratulations Falconbreeze! I'm so very proud of you." Brindlewhisker hummed, continuing to nuzzle her daughter's face as she spoke.
