Thunder crashes [TC Flood Topic]

"Thank you, Mosspaw." Lynxtail nudged the apprentice gratefully, shot his sister a quick, deep glance, and then began to wade through the current on his own. His ears pricked as he saw Ferretpaw and Pricklebush and moved towards them, eyes narrowed as flecks of water obscured his vision. "Ferretpaw! Pricklebush! Over here!" Pricklebush was carrying two kits- he needed all the help he could get protecting such precious cargo.
The tall warrior fell in step beside the Medicine Cat, placing himself between the tom and the worst of the torrential current. "You heard Leopardstar- let's get to the gorge."

Clapping thunders, the yowling of her clanmates, the sound of rushing water, Ravenstripe woke up with a jump, only to splash water when she landed.

"What in the world...?"

Then she heard her clanmates outside, the camp was flooding, this made her fur spike up.

"The kits...!"

The tabby then rushed out of the warriors den, towards the nursery, avoiding to bump into any other cats, she saw Emberheart there already and she didn´t heistated, she grabbed a kit herself and followed Ember closely to help her.

Copperheart's deep sleep was interrupted by unintelligible noises, ones which his ears had not fully awakened to make out. He simply groaned, assuming it was just some random, unimportant ruckus, curling up tighter in an attempt to drain out the noise. 

Copperheart was a heavy sleeper. Everyone knew this. The tom could be woken up easily, but in his slumber, he was as still as the ground beneath his feet. Wait... but the ground wasn't still? He could only comprehend simple thoughts as he had just woken up, but the ginger tom could easily feel a soft trickle running past a considerable amount of his fur. When he felt a paw nudge him hard, Copperheart realized how awfully cold his pelt was, and he was... wet?

His golden eyes opened to be met with a considerable amount of water flowing past his paws, and that's when Copperheart was roused awake. He jolted to his feet, realizing he was nearly the only cat left in the den. He looked in around in worry and confusion, instantly noticing he had no idea where his littermates had gone. He heard the sounds of pitiful yowls and meows, and throughout all the noise, he made out his siblings'-- and his father's. He trudged out of the den, water that reached up to his ankles making him slower. He spotted Lynxtail, Batpaw, and Leopardstar, instantly calling out to them all. 

"Lynxtail! Batpaw! Dad! I'm here! I'm coming! Don't worry!" The tom shouted in dismay and reassurance, on the inside feeling massive relief that he had found them all.

Echofrost woke up to pure chaos. It took a couple seconds for things to sink in. It's a flood! He thought, beginning to panik. He dashed towards the camp excit, then looked back, feeling guilty. Come on! Your a warrior now. GET AHOLD OF YOURSELF! Even if he had no family to protect, others did. And he would help them. Echofrost dashed towards the dens, poking his head in each one. "Is anybody in there?!" He would call, gazing into the darkness before moving on to the next. Once he had checked them all, making sure everyone was getting out, Echofrost bolted for the camp exit, joining the mob of cats heading to the gorge.

Pricklebush fell in step with Mosspaw and Ferretpaw, nodding gratefully for their assistance, but too concentrated on keeping two squirming kits in his mouth to talk. He followed Leopardstar, wholeheartedly glad that someone else was taking charge, and slogged through the paw-deep water, noting its rise and praying to StarClan that they could make it out before something worse happened. Though he knew he had to keep going and save the kits he had, he found himself craning his neck to try and find Ridgepaw and Blizzardshine in the crowds. Beartooth, he couldn't care less about.

Dewpaw sat frozen in fear. Chaos escalated around him. ”Oof!” He was suddenly shoved from behind. Paws slipping on the muddy den floor he fell fast first into the water. He inhaled for air but all he got was water. His eyes stung and his paws flailed as he choked on water. He was shoved from behind and flew out of the apprentice den, into a rock. Half dazed he Unsheated his claws and scrabbled onto the rock. He managed to open his eyes despite the stinging and looked down to see blood dropping from his chin. On top of the rock he turned around and almost reched. His paw. It was under a sharp heavy stone. His eyes filled with fear as he started to pull his paw out, blood started to deep faster and faster from his back paw and he glanced around the camp, more and more water flooded it.

"We're coming!" Ferretpaw yelled to Lynxtail. She flanked Pricklebush and helped guide his steps as they climbed up the steep walls. Had it been any other time, she would have laughed at how the kits obscured his vision with their fluff. If only she could laugh.

The ground was sticky, muddy, finding its way between her paws. She was soaked on her belly and shivering. She glanced behind her. The camp was drenched! Ferretpaw dreaded the thought of rebuilding every den when the water finally dried up. Where would they sleep for the night? Her delicate nerves began to get the better of her. Were there any more kits down there? Was everybody safe? She looked around at her clan, her family. Why was this happening? Their camp was the only place they could really feel safe... and it was practically a lake!

"We're okay now," she whispered, mostly to herself, but so Pricklebush, Mosspaw, and the kits they were transporting could hear and take comfort. "We're going to find somewhere to go, and in a few days we can come home."

Lilypaw jumped awake, only to find the den almost empty and water swirling around, carrying the nests away. Is Mosspaw alright? she thought, Are the kits safe? As fast as she could, Lilypaw made her way to the den entrance, even though the water was now half way up her body. When she saw the kits and elders being helped to the top of the ravine, she instantly relaxed. She also spotted Mosspaw helping the newly named medicine cat, Pricklebush, to the top. The best she could with the current trying to sweep her away, Lilypaw waded to safety.

When Swoopnose first woke up, he thought he was still dreaming. It was just like one of his nightmares. Nobody was looking at him, nobody was acknowledging his existence, and the warrior's den was full of water, up to his nose when lying down. Cats were yowling in fear outside, and he jumped to his paws, watching in horror as the den filled quicker than he could imagine. For a few moments he tried willing himself to wake up, but quickly realized this wasn't a dream. If he didn't do something to save save himself, he would die. Splashing through the water, he exited the warrior's den as quickly as he could, the water weighing down his paws. Fear coursing through him, he jumped out of the ravine that made up ThunderClan camp in one bound, for once grateful for his SkyClan father. Hearing Leopardstar's words, he didn't hesitate before sprinting after Mashstorm as fast as he could towards the gorge. Water still flowed around his paws as he ran, and it wasn't until he had left camp that he realized that he hadn't tried to help anyone else. Yet for some reason, he couldn't turn back. Internally, he cursed himself for being such a coward. It would ruin him someday.

Bushfang woke before the shouting began. The slightest bit of water accumulating at her paws set off the instinct that something wasn't right, and she woke up immediately. The den seemed to be flooding, and the rest of the camp had a puddle the size of a small pond in the middle. Rain was still coming down in large quantities, promising that the flood was only going to grow more intense. For a few moments, she simply waited, not wanting to draw extra attention to herself quite yet. It was only when other cats began to realize as well did she react. Jumping to her paws, she shot of of the den and scrambled to the higher parts of camp. However, she didn't leave quite yet. Time to make herself seem like a concerned warrior worried about her loved ones. "Beartooth! Flintfang! Where are you?"

With a firm nod to Leopardstar, the tom raced towards the trail that lead up the gorge. The path was slippery. Marshstorm felt his pads slip around on the muddy and icy surface as he dug his claws in for an attempt to gain some traction as he pushed his screaming muscles to their limits as he hauled up not just himself, but Dustcloud. His still injured mate was out cold. The herbs that Pricklebush used probably keeping her asleep for now. Normally, this was a blessing, but right now he really needed her help. He turned to see other cats following along behind him as he tried to stay close to the outer walls. Away from the crumbling interior, which he figured out quickly wouldn't hold much weight after so much water.

"STAY AWAY FROM THE EDGE!" He yowled against the rain and water below. Though it wasn't too deep yet, a pit of worry deepened in his stomach as a dull roaring in the distance caught his ears. "THUNDERCLAN! HURRY!" Despite the strength of his yowl, it felt drowned out. He could only hope his clanmates and Leopardstar had heard him as he pushed towards the last few tail lengths to the top of the gorge. Once there, he set Dustcloud down gently on the mud covered ground nearly a foxlength from the edge. The ground, so damp it was practically a marsh. The feeling sent chills of recognition down his spine. His large paws spreading out to help him balance as he padded and checked for each cat making it's way up. Telling them to go where Dustcloud was, safely away from the path and the water that was dripping into their camp.

The dam is broken and ThunderClan must reach Highstones to survive. As the waters are too rough, to survive, each ThunderClanner must climb a tree to avoid being impaled to death/crushed/wounded/drowning. To see if your cat makes it, roll the Hunting Die.

1-5 - You make it.
6-10 - You fail, and get swept away... Who knows where you will go?

Disabled cats must roll 1-3 to make it.

All kits must be carried by a warrior or they get swept away by default.

Where to find the die?

For once in his life, Poppypaw felt actual fear. A BOOM coming from somewhere he couldn't see shook him, as if he were standing in the path of a monster on the Thunderpath. With wide green eyes and tail tucked between his legs, he leaped to climb the nearest tree, but landed slightly too low. "F-!" The rush caught him and he was pulled away from the rest of ThunderClan by a monstrous current. No words came to his mind, only a piercing yowl escaped his throat before he was thrown below the surface, choking. He couldn't tell up from down, nor could he find grip on any tree he passed. Where was it taking him?

Pricklebush was slogging through the water with a sense of urgency- he was almost there, he could feel it!- but then, with a sickening crack, a flood of water rushed through the camp, sweeping Clanmates off their feet. He scrambled through the new tide, stumbling even in his haste to reach a tree to climb. With the two kits hanging from his jaws, the medicine cat recalled his warrior training and leapt up a tall oak, claws scratching through its thick bark. In the shock and fear of the moment, his mind blanked, and before he knew what was happening he was standing safe across a long branch, heaving and panting from the sudden exertion, his thick spiky pelt dripping wet. His green eyes scanned the river below for his Clanmates, panicking. Were the others safe?!
