| It came during the night as the outsiders slept peacefully in their make-shift nests. Silently the water crept, inching it's way closer and closer till the crashing New Leaf storm fuelled it to form a torrent. You wake up to water pooled around your paws, and an inkling feeling, if you don't flee now, you won't get another chance. Run. |

| Moons of planning, all for nothing. Despite Mintwhisker's assurances and Sharptooth's certainty, it was not Windclan camp where Lilypaw was staying the night. Alone and cold, The black-and-white she-cat had stumbled to the barn; the one place that Sharptooth promised was safe. And, for a while, it was just that. There were mice to eat, the barn itself was cozy and dry, and the straw provided a warm bed. The small she-cat was physically and emotionally exhausted from the day's events. She ate quickly and then gathered what nest-making materials she could. She eyed the ladder, which surely lead to a much more comfortable sleeping area, but she eventually decided that it was better to have one eye on the entrance. The barn was uninhabited when she arrived, but that didn't mean that someone would return later. Tears tracked down her face as she fell asleep. She wasn't sad, she was just... empty. She had no more emotions to feel, or maybe she was feeling everything, all at once.
When she woke up the first time, she immediately knew something was wrong. She could hear something over the distant roar of rain- something that made the fur along her ruff grow stiff. It was a series of snuffles, punctuated by the most peculiar chatter. The black-and-white she-cat breathed deeply. Raccoon. With an explosive shriek, the she-cat threw herself to her feet. The raccoon hissed, it's beady eyes trained on her. For a while, the pair engaged in a fierce battle, each desperate to force the intruder out of it's home. By some stroke of luck, the cat won, sending the larger animal chattering into the night. All she gained from it was a scratch that encompassed her entire face. Her eyes were mercifully spared, but blood was swiftly staining her white fur a dull red. She pulled raccoon fur from her claws, staring dolefully into the night. She figured that by now she would've had a new name. A new... everything. Still, the thought occurred to her that in some ways, this was a new start. She didn't belong to any clan, which mean she answered to no leader. She was free to name herself as she chose. I'm between Skyclan and Windclan... She might as well stick with the theme her life had taken. "Cloud." Sounds like clod. "I'll take it." With that, the she-cat settled back into her nest, her eyes falling shut shortly after.
The second time the she-cat awoke, day had broken. She stretched, noting that the blood on her face had dried, according to her reflection. Her reflection? She leaped to her feet once more, sending ripples through the pool of water that had appeared in the barn magically. With a grunt, she splashed towards the entrance, peering outside only to find that... "Everything?!" The entire territory, as far as she could see, was covered with water. It was clear that she couldn't stay here, but where could she go? She scanned the landscape, her eyes wide. She had to get to high ground... Her clear-blue eyes settled on Mothermouth. The mountains beyond loomed threateningly, but Cloud wasn't worried. She'd get to that when she got there. For now though, the road was long, and she was hungry. Luckily, the mice weren't all apt swimmers, and she was able to uncover an entire nest before long. A short while later she emerged from the barn with a full belly and two mice swinging from her jaws by the tail. Life wasn't good, but at least she had a goal. Casting a sullen glance towards the distant mountain, she trotted through the water and mud. Hopefully she'd get there before nightfall. ______________________________________ Sunleap – T1 TC Warrior – #009966 | Bearpaw – TC Apprentice – #0066ff Feral/ #006666 Forest Bear's 1/2 Feral Buffs- Spoiler:

| As the clan scramble together, finding each other in the rising waters, in the distance, they hear a reverberating crack. The noise is so loud, they could feel it in their bones, rattling them to the core.
And before anyone can react, a wave of water swept through the territories... The dam is broken and your cat must reach Highstones to survive. As the waters are too rough, to survive, each rogue/loner must cling to the walls of the abandoned barn to avoid being impaled to death/crushed/wounded/drowning. To see if your cat makes it, roll the Hunting Die. 1-5 - You make it. 6-10 - You fail, and get swept away... Who knows where you will go? Disabled cats must roll 1-3 to make it. Where to find the die? |

| Cloud's ears twitched and she turned, the mice in her jaws swinging. A distant roar reached her ears, and for a moment, the she-cat looked around. Then, she was hit by an oncoming wall of water. Oh, great Starclan... Letting out a yelp, she threw herself flat on her stomach. The wave rolled over her and she struggled to the surface, making her way as best she could towards the barn. Despite the sudden onslaught of water, she still held onto the mice, who were looking a little worse for wear as Cloud clung to the rough wooden boards that made up the walls of the barn. "Great." The she-cat grunted, her sodden tail-tip twitching as the tide began to ebb. How on earth would she get to Highstones now? ______________________________________ Sunleap – T1 TC Warrior – #009966 | Bearpaw – TC Apprentice – #0066ff Feral/ #006666 Forest Bear's 1/2 Feral Buffs- Spoiler:

| Night of Stormy Gales had been traveling steadily for days despite the storm since his expulsion from SkyClan, taking it slow as he moved through the territories towards Highstones, and the great land beyond. What would he do now, he wondered? What could he do? He didn't want to stay with the clans...he had abandoned his clan name when his home had abandoned him, and he doubted any of the other groups would want him once Tinystar began to spread the ill rumors. Exiled tomcat...approach with caution...traitorous and dangerous... Well, he didn't really mind. Petty insults only affected petty minds, the truth-seekers would know the difference if they cared to find out. At least those closest to him would remember the real him...Firflower, Fernpetal, his daughter Forestpaw, and those of SkyClan who had fought on his behalf. He would miss them all...but he must move forward.
He had just reached the edge of WindClan's territory - paws sloshing through the ankle-deep water - when a great roaring came to his ears, and the pitch-black tom turned around. What...is that?! It looked like a stormcloud itself had broken free of it's skyward prison and invaded the river, flowing down from lands unknown beyond the clan's home. His leaf-green eyes narrowed; no, it was not a cloud. It was water! A great wall of water sweeping across the land...and heading straight towards him!
Night remained calm, though his heartbeat kicked into high gear; I need to find higher ground, higher than this! The stone hills that guarded the Moonstone would do well...but could he make it in time? Apparently not. The water was already gaining on him, despite his speed. Thinking fast, he caught sight of a tall oak tree on the border of a Twoleg field and streaked towards it. Hopefully, the branches would be stable enough to hold his weight while also withstanding the force of the water... He could remember from his days as a to-be one time the waterfall pool flooded with snow-melt, trapping the Tribe in their camp for three sunrises until the water receded enough for them to hunt again. This though was much, much different. Would that happen to the clans? Would his friends, family, be okay? They had no cave to hide in, no stone to hold back the waves... He could only pray.
Launching himself upward, Night scaled the tree until he reached a comfortable middle branch, and laid down with his belly flat to the bark. Now, all he could do was wait. It came in a flash, almost quicker than he could blink. The deluge swept around the tree's truck and stole the lower, more brittle branches, and the old tom could feel his body shake along with the oak. Closing his eyes, the tom took deep, calming breaths of rainy air, trying to keep himself from focusing on the situation at hand. Worrying too much about things you can't control is a waste of precious energy...even if that thing is a dangerous, possibly deadly flood. Suddenly, a loud crack summoned Night to open his eyes and look down, his efforts at relaxing instantly broken. The old oak's trunk had split, the small line growing ever wider as the force of the water bore down upon his refuge until, to his horror, he felt the tree bend, falling, falling, towards doom. Acting on instinct, the tom scrambled to leap off of the branch in time, feeling his foot twist painfully due to his weight being uneven during the jump. With a low hiss, the Tribe tom dove into the water and surfaced quickly; he had learned to swim during his time in the mountains while playing in the waterfall pool with his siblings. Kicking out with a wince, he grabbed onto the nearest floating object - one of the oak branches - and latched on, coughing. The cold water leeched away his body heat and shocked him to his core, but he remained focused and determined. I'll follow the waters...soon, they'll bring me to the place where I need to be.
I hope. ______________________________________

| Rift awoke to the sound of water lapping, the sound stirring unpleasant memories of what was left of her mother lying beside the river, ground stained with blood. Eyes bleary, she blinked them open, hoping really hard that she hadn't somehow walked back to the river in her sleep. From her position on the rafters of the barn, she could see straw floating on top of a shallow pool of water seeping through the entire barn, and - Wait, a shallow pool of water? Seeping through the entire barn? She leapt to her paws, fur bushing out as she stared at the mucky water swishing insidiously at the walls. The moment of paralysed shock passed, and she jerked her head up, staring around for her sister. "Mao! Mao, there's water in the barn! I think it's getting higher!" Before she could do more than frantically glance around for her sister, a shuddering, groaning crack rent the air, and she flattened her ears instinctively against the sound. An indescribable itch to get to higher ground consumed her and she leaped across the rafters for one of the holes in the roof as a rumbling started to vibrate the water on the ground, and even the wood beneath her paws. She could hear it coming closer, devouring everything in its path as with a desperate leap she pushed off towards that little hole of light. Rain stung her face as she cut through the air, her body rising high in agonizing slowness. A shadow of something crashed into the barn behind her, and she stretched her legs as far as she could towards that little hole of light. Her claws glinted in the dimness. And connected. With a momentous heave, she pulled the rest of herself up through the hole, rushing water brushing her tail as it dangled for a moment. She panted, trembling, gazing through the hole with her ears flattened and eyes wide, her claws digging so hard into the wood it nearly broke beneath them. "Mao! Mao?!" ______________________________________

| The ground had been wet for days. It was the flood that made it much worse. Hex was trudging in the water. Though she was already used to walking in mud and water, from always bothering Shadowclan, this was worse by far. The water was rising up her legs. Earlier in the day, around sunhigh, probably, she had started to walk the outside of the territories to see the cats at the abandoned barn, hoping they could give her shelter. Hex almost never asked for help, and she'd heard that these cats were cruel and untrustworthy, but she really needed somewhere safe to stay. She was getting closer to the barn when the black she-cat jumped with fright. Off in the distance, a sickening crack rung through the air, going or all of the territories and beyond. Suddenly, she looked behind her. What she saw made her shudder. Sprinting as fast as she could toward the barn, Hex ran from the wall of water that was right on her tail.
She saw that there were cats clinging to the side of the barn, out of reach of the waters. Thinking fast, she clung to the side, trying to climb high enough. Unfortunately, she had chosen a weak board. As soon as the waters hit the side of the barn the whole structure shuddered, then the board Hex was climbing onto was sucked under the water. She was flipped over and back many times as she went down the flood, but she knew that if she let go of that board she would probably die. Accidentally swallowing a mouthful of the water, she gagged, then vomited it back up once she resurfaced. She was at an easier part of the water, but she knew it would be quite a bumpy ride. ______________________________________ Ping me on discord if i need to post!~My Kitters~Hawkpaw~Tom~RC~20/80~Apprentice~0033ffHex~She-Cat~Rogue~45/140~330066Maplepaw~She-Cat~WC~20/80~Apprentice~cc3300Cloverpaw~She-cat~SkC~20/80~Apprentice~00cc00Silverpaw~Tom~SC~20/80~Apprentice~9999ffRandom Gif Of The Week

| Shag was sleeping in his nest, when it hit. A tidal wave of water swept through the barn, destroying everything in its path. The contents of the barn, hay, mice, and cats, were all being swept away. He awoke to this unfriendly greeting, clinging to the outside of a barn door. The water rushed past him, pulling on his limbs, wanting badly to drown him in it's depths. Not today, you won't! Shag thought angrily as he clawed his way to the surface of the water. He took a deep breath, coughing up small amounts of water. He continued his climb until he was on top of the barn. Once there, he could see more cats in the distance... Clan Cats. They were being swept away, vainly trying to escape. Only some did. "Ha!" he said out loud. "Serves you right! For once you're going to suffer, just like us!" Shag's happiness was short lived as he remembered that his family was still in the barn. Leaning over the side, he soon spotted two of his children. "Mao! Rift!" he yowled. "Up here!" It was then he heard a sicking sound. The roof of the barn was groaning, stressed from the flood. He tried to scramble away from the edge, but it was too late. The roof broke open beneath him, and he was once again plunged into it's dark, icy depths. The water was not merciful to him twice. Shag vainly tried to swim to the surface, but was hit in the head by a beam of the barn, torn loose by the flood. He stared up at the surface of the water. He wanted to get up, wanted to get to air, to find his children and... and Xuexi. But his body would not obey. His lunges screamed for air, breathing in water instead. Shags vision clouded, fading into blackness. He was gone. ______________________________________ Crimsonpaw of ThunderClan
