January Gathering 2014

Rookheart frowned in confusion as she looked between Mapleclaw and Falconfang.

Swiftpaw's eyes widened and he stared at the Great Rock with an opened mouth. He nudged Mistypaw. "I think that Falconfang is lying. He HAS to be. But ... his words DO make sense. What if Mapleclaw wanted to be leader so badly that she tried to kill Reedstar? But she wouldn't do that. Would she?"

Shadeflame raised an eyebrow at this, and he turned towards the rock. Hmm ... he thought. Falconfang does have a point ...

Mistpaw tilted her head curiously, "Is he really telling the truth?" she muttered under her breath, her eyes growing wide at Swiftpaw and Mistypaw. That was a wild accusation. "Why would the deputy murder the leader? That's crazy talk!" She looked so lost, "And where could he have gone then if not home? Maybe WindClan did something for all we know!"

Mistypaw stared at Swiftpaw incredulously. "Are you CRAZY? Mapleclaw would never do that! She's way to loyal to the Clan! Besides that's a very dangerous accusation, and if Reedstar doesn't come back, Mapleclaw will be our leader! We have to trust her and be loyal to her! What are you thinking? Are you a complete fish-brain?"

Silverpaw listened quietly to the RiverClan apprentices' conversation. "If I was to decide," she spoke up, "I would agree with Swiftpaw. However, from what I've heard, Mapleclaw is very loyal. Perhaps she had other reasons for... wanting to be leader. However," she added quickly, "It's none of my business. So you can believe what you want. That was simply a suggestion."

Flowerpaw nodded in silent agreement. What Silverpaw said made sense. "I think you're right," she told the older apprentice softly.

Mistypaw hissed in fury. "You're all minnow-brains! Mapleclaw would never kill Reedstar! Never!"

The silver she-cat in the corner tilted her head at the new information. Reedstar is alive? she thought and her eyes lit ablaze with happiness; but that fire soon was dampened by the rest of the argument. She stood up, flicking her tail lightly. "If I might interrupt," the she-cat meowed loudly, eyeing the many eyes that suddenly turned to her. "Falconfang would not lie about something so large. He is a trustworthy cat and he is deputy of WindClan for a reason," Silvershade declared, flicking her ear. "If Reedstar is alive, he more than likely has a reason for staying away from the Clan. Perhaps something did happen between him and Mapleclaw, but we can't jump to conclusions like this." She sat back down and wrapped her fluffy tail around her paws. "Perhaps we should give Mapleclaw a chance to respond."


OOC: Twilight, Swiftpaw was talking directly to Mistpaw, so he likely wasn't speaking very loud. And Mistpaw was muttering.

Dawnpaws eyes widened when someone suggested the deputy killing reedstar. that cant be! what cat would kill their own leader!? sitting straight up, she watched the arguing cats from a distance. she did not want to be part of it, how ever exciting it was.

Actually, if you look closely you'll see that Swiftpaw was talking to Mistypaw, not Mistpaw. Besides, Mistypaw is Swiftpaw's sister, so that makes more sense.

OOC: All this mist crap is too dang confusing. ;-; Either way, you didn't have to be so smart about it.

The white tom stayed silent. He could clearly remember the day that Mapleclaw had told the clan that Reedstar had died. She had seemed very emotional, almost too emotional, though no one had noticed because of the shocking news. Prodding his Clanmate, Mistypaw, he motioned for her to sit down. He didn't want to be part of a scene because of anybody.

Deerpaw pricked his ears when his deputy stood up and told his story. Did Falconfang really find Reedstar in their territory? His face distorted into a frown. What was going on here?

Rainspot sat straight up at the news. So, two leaders couldn't make it tonight; one of sickness and another supposed death? Fairly interesting. Flicking her fluffy tail-tip, the she-cat listened intently over the murmuring of the apprentices.

Rookpaw looked around, extremely worried.

Rookpaw got up and backed up a bit.

OOC: Sorry. Bad habit of mine to make a big deal out of small things.

IC: Flowerpaw looked nervously around. "Can we discuss something different?" She didn't want everyone to get hostile.
