January Gathering 2016

Icy winds tore through the desolate clearing, heavily blanketed in snow. The bare branches of the Great oaks rattled dangerously, tossing clumps of snow down onto unsuspecting victims. The full moon was out, but faint wisps of clouds threatened to cover it.

There was a dangerous atmosphere in the air.

Braving the cold weather as decreed every moon, Falconstar led his clan into the Gathering. Fluffing up his coat to try and protect himself from the icy winds, his steps were slower than they were before. It took more effort to climb up the Great Rock and stare down upon his clan filtering out into the clearing, a small shiver passing through his body. The wizened leader huffed to himself: this place always had a nice view.

Blizzardwind padded in after is leader and took a seat down below.

Kestrelpaw was close behind his mentor and leader, like usual. Once Feathertail had gotten the hint through that she didn't like being followed, he took to Falconstar like a shadow.

Pinepaw padded behind the three, soon sitting down in the clearing. It was cold and eerie, but it was okay. He patiently awaited to talk to someone.

Feathertail followed behind her father, unsure if she wanted to be here or not. After last gathering she was probably going to get a lot of evil gazes. She glanced around to the rest of her clan mates, before taking a spot a little ways from the Great Rock. She would rather blend in to the rest of the crowd than stick out.

Breezepaw followed happily behind her mother. This was her first gathering and she was looking forward to it. Though she wasn't sure how to feel about the other clans. She knew this was a time of peace but something told her not to trust the other clans, or not really talk to them unless she had too. When Feathertail sat down, so did Breezepaw. She decided it would be best if she stuck close to a warrior.

Just as every other gathering, Icestorm, his brother, and son padded into the gathering after their leader. There was much tension at the last gathering because of WindClan's actions and Icestorm hoped the other Clans knew better than to start a fight.

Saltpaw, unlike her sister, was keen to attend a gathering. She wanted to meet everyone and see if RiverClan were really part fish or if SkyClan looked like squirrels because they were climbing trees all the time. Eagerly, she followed behind Feathertail, however once the warrior sat down, she whispered to Breezepaw. "Aren't you gonna look around with me?" She tilted her head to the side, blue eyes wide and curious.

Next to show was Shadowclan. Thrushstar padded into the clearing with his clan not far behind. He looked just as composed as ever, more curious about who was going to start the drama first this moon. However, he couldn't get his mind off the cold temperatures. His short fur didn't help any. With a deep breath, he quickly leaped up onto the Greatrock, looking at Falconstar and dipping his head respectfully. He had no malice against of the leaders at the moment which was definitely a good thing. "Greetings," he said simply before turning around to watch his clan filter into the clearing.

Wildpaw padded in after his leader, Thrushstar. His dark fur blending into the shadows made it hard for his figure to be seen other than his gleaming yellow eyes.

Dawnflower followed close by her leader. This was her first gathering as a true medicine Cat. She was excited, and she couldn't wait to talk to Dreampaw, and maybe Wisteriapaw, if they were both still apprentices. They might have been full medicine cats like her. Ah she couldn't wait to see the rest of the medicine cats. She took the usual spot where the medicine cats usually sat looking around for Gorsefeather, and Emberleaf. Shouldn't they be here by now?

Breezepaw looked at her sister. She didn't really know what to do. She had an adventurous nature, but she wasn't to stay away from the rest of the clans.. Finally she gave in, and stood up from her spot. "Fine. Lead the way." She told her sister.

Soulpaw padded in after his best friend and sat down next to him. He flicked his playfully wit his tail and then waited for the gathering to start.

Blizzardwind smiled at Feathertail and waved his tail in greeting. Although the two cats were in the same clan he thought id be nice to say hi to another warrior.

Mosspaw followed behind Dawnflower, the she-cat remaining nearby her clanmates rather than mingling too much. She'd heard how tense the last gathering was, and she had no interest in getting caught out away from her clanmates, should anything happen. She knew that clans weren't allowed to fight at gatherings, but the other clans were so aggressive, what if they decided to forgo that rule.

Gorsefeather entered the clearing finally, the calico tom lagged behind Blizzardwind, a little tired from the journey. He wasn't old compared to Falconstar, but he was getting on in his years, no longer brimming with energy as he used to be. However, he was healthy enough to do his job, which was all that really mattered. Across the clearing, he spotted Dawnflower, his apprentice, he nodded to her in greeting and joined her under the Great Rock. "How've you been, Dawnflower? I've heard that you have an apprentice of your own now."

"Do you see anyone interesting? Oh, look at that tom." Saltpaw gestured to Wildpaw with her tail, peering over the top of cats to spot the apprentice. He looked cool, dark fur and yellow eyes, that was a combination she hadn't seen before in WindClan. "Reckon we could talk to him? We're not enemies with ShadowClan... Right?"

Spiderfur followed hastily behind her father and uncle, trying her best to stay unseen. Gatherings, like many other things, was a bit stressful to watch for the tiny she-cat. Well, anything negative in general made her upset. So she took to sitting inside a small bush just her size, both to keep warm and to prevent other clan cats from seeing her. From within the bush she watched as Shadowclan rolled in before retreating more towards the center.

Silverpaw padded behind Dawnflower, eyes gleaming with excitement. The ground felt cold beneath her paws, and she was a bit nervous, but nonetheless she was happy. At Gorsefeather's words, she quickly reacted. "That's me!" She mewed. She didn't know the tom, but was excited to show off her rank.

Pinepaw walked over to Wildpaw. "Hey," He mewed, blinking. He easily noticed the tom was much alike him, but also completely different. They both had dark fur, but... Not like the other. "Name?" He asked him, soon spying Saltpaw and Breezepaw a little farther away.
