It had taken very little convincing for the black-pelted tom allow Steadfast to head a hunt searching for the mutts that had escaped mere days before. He was sure that the cats assigned to him were there mainly to keep watch over him, but he didn't care as long as they were helpful during the struggle to come.
Traversing the marshes that their benefactors lived in was a challenging task, but Steadfast felt he was getting used to it. Thick muds still slowed the small group as he lead the warriors through the snowy land towards their targets, or rather they slowed him. The natives were far less bothered by the land than he was. Steady tried not to let that get to him. He may be slow now, but the moment he could loose himself upon the predators they sought he would show his worth.
The forms of two dogs emerged from the tall grasses mere tail-lengths ahead of them, bringing with them a stench unlike any other he'd smelt before. The wounds that the snarling beasts held were still healing. Good, this would be an easier fight than he thought. Steadfast matched the beast's snarls with his own as he threw himself at the closest mutt, claws ripping along its side and opening old wounds.
Steadfast used Front Paw Strike on Dog #1, Dealing 10 HP and Costing 7 SP Night Finesse is in effect!
Everything I say is a lie, but they’re the only things keeping me alive
Quillsplash didn't know how to feel about the new guests in ShadowClan, but he didn't really care about how he felt about it until he was forced to be in the same patrol as one of them. Steadfast, the soon-to-be-father if he remembered correctly. Or was that the other tom? Whatever. He didn't care what they did to ShadowClan, as long as they left Tawnyshadow, Snaildance and Hedgepaw alone.
As the rogue threw himself into battle, Quillsplash was quick to follow behind and lunge at the other dog. His last few fights with dogs had all ended in disaster, but this time, he'd made sure he didn't repeat those same mistakes. This time, he'd take one of their ears home, and next time, he'd get it's pelt. The tortoiseshell clasped the dog's tail in his jaws and yanked backwards, sending the huge beast sprawling onto the ground.
Quillsplash used Tail Yank on Dog #2, dealing 8(+1)dmg at the cost of 15SP
Quillsplash 40 HP / 85 SP(-15)

Wolfpaw had been overjoyed to discover that he was going on a patrol with his mother. Less so, when he discovered Quillsplash was going along. At very least, he was away from Hedgepaw. He couldn't hurt her if he wasn't with her. But at the same time, he was too close to Mama. And the rogue. The rogue and Quillsplash were both weird, and it made his pelt crawl. Why did Mama get chosen to go with them? She was better than them.
He stayed as close to his mother as he could, practically keeping a pelt-hair on her at all times. It was only when Quillsplash moved, that he broke the trend. Mama would no doubt try to help her former apprentice, but maybe that was what Quillsplash wanted. Mama would attack the dog, and then--
His teeth sank into flesh, dog and disgusting. His eyes scoured over Quillsplash. He would not let him out of his sight. Not when Mama was at stake. The rogue could keep Mama safe. The rogue could kill good.
Wolfpaw has used Snap on Dog #2, dealing 6+1 DMG and using 7 SP.
Pineblossom was more than happy to assist in tracking down the dogs that had fled their camp—only made moreso when when her former apprentice Quillsplash and her son Wolfpaw were brought along on the hunt. She did not think that their guests were bad cats…but she would be a lot more comfortable with her family going on this hunt with one of their guests if she was also present.
Sure enough, they came across the dogs further into the territory. Steadfast leapt at one of them, tearing his claws down the front of it. Pineblossom charged in right after him, feinting to one side of Steadfast only to go the other way and slam into the side of the dog and toppling it over. She was grateful to Stagshade for nothing else if not teaching her this singular tactic.
Pineblossom used Dishonorable Charge on Dog 1, dealing 11 (10+1) damage and costing 20 SP. Dog 1 is stunned for 2 turns.
Steadfast: 65/65 HP 133/140 SP Pineblossom: 70/70 HP 140/160 SP (-20)

The frosted molly slammed into the beast, bringing it down before it even had a chance to understand what was going on. It was clear she knew how to handle herself in a fight. Turning back to the beast that now lay writhing on the ground, Steadfast sunk swift claws into the dog once more, striking with a far harsher intensity than he had before. - It happened too fast. One moment a single cat was ripping into it, the next it was on the floor gasping deeply for breath as a heavier cat rammed it. There was no time to regain its composure however as more blows rained down. Wild paws lashed out to fend off the attacker, though they missed their mark.
Steadfast used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows, dealing 16 HP and costing 14 SP Dog #1 is Stunned for 2 turns
Steadfast: 65/65 HP 119/140 SP (-14)
Pineblossom: 70/70 HP 140/160 SP
Dog #1: [Stunned 1/2] 52/100 HP (-16) 200/200 SP __ Teeth snapped at Quillsplash as the warrior made his move, but his speed wasn't something the dog had accounted for. Force pulled it to the ground, and the teeth that latched on kept it down. For now.
Everything I say is a lie, but they’re the only things keeping me alive
Wolfpaw joined him in the fight, and while Quillsplash would have preferred Pineblossom to be by his side, he was willing to cooperate with Hedgepaw's brother. The dog thrashed below the apprentice, teeth snapping at the air just a whisker-length away from him. Careful... His eyes narrowed and he threw himself forward, claws digging into the beast's muzzle and ripping downwards until there was two red lines over the dog's face. Quillsplash used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8(+1)dmg and -7SP
Quillsplash 40/40 HP 78/100 SP (-7) Dog #2: 47/100 HP (-9) 200/200 SP Wolfpaw: 20/20 HP 52/60 SP

Pineblossom immediately followed up with Steadfast, drawing her claws into the dog’s flank while it was stunned. These mutts should have thought better than to stick around the territory where very angry cats took refuge.
Pineblossom used Front Paw Strike, dealing 11 (10+1) damage and costing 7 SP.
