As part of a secondary patrol, your party has been dispatched to clear any predators from the Carrionplace so that the border patrol can safely navigate the plot of land later in the night. As you arrive, you are faced with a sight most odd, yet interesting. A dog stands yelping at the front of the entrance to Carrionplace, surrounded by rats too hungry to care about who they are attacking.
Rats and a Dog have appeared! Carrionplace was not high on Briarpaw's list of places she liked. In fact, it was somewhere near the very bottom. Case in point, the trash heaps had a particular stench during the warm weather... And were filled with rats.
And a dog, because the stench and the rats weren't enough of a reason this place sucked. "Stars..." Briarpaw stared for a moment in awe at the rats fighting the dog. Both creatures were a problem on their own, but together? "What are the chances of them taking each other out?"

If we did what was easy
With her kits getting older, it was easier to leave the den, and even partake on patrols again. She had left the kits with Sunflare, who had so graciously offered to watch them. And honestly, with the loss of his own family, maybe some time with kits again would do him well.
In any case, she didn't mind allowing him that slight comfort. (Nevermind the fact that she also asked Swiftheart keep an eye on them.)
While carrionplace was not her favorite spot in the territory, Lilyvalley found that she did not mind it as much as other cats did. Perhaps it was because her scent was not as strong, perhaps it was just knowing she had experienced worse.
What she did mind was what they ended up finding at carrionplace. It was not often they were able to find predator's fighting each other. With her tail, Lilyvalley signaled for the cats to crouch low, taking a note of who they actually had present. Aside from her, and she hardly counted herself, Quillsplash was the only warrior present. Looking back to the rats and dog in the middle of their battle, she decided Briarpaw's idea was the best course of action.
"Nobody move. Stay low, and stay quiet, we don't want to attract their attention. We'll let them finish their fight, and clean out whatever is left. Coming in fresh while they are tired and wounded will leave us with the advantage, as well as less enemies to fight."

I feel like I’m waiting for something that’ll never happen
A horde of rats attacking a dog sure wasn't what he was expecting to see today. Quillsplash starred at the clashing battle with a dry smile. Maybe StarClan had finally decided to rid the territory of predators by having them kill each other. Or maybe this was a sign that they'd soon start starving again, and the predators were struggling to find food for themselves. Whichever the case, he wasn't about to stop them from killing each other. Whoever the victor was would be weak enough for them to finish off in a few quick hits.
Most of his patrolmates seemed to echo the same idea. Lilyvalley, of course, had to say it out loud as if no one else had brains left in them. Even an apprentice could--and had-- come up with the idea, who was she giving the instructions to? Whatever. Quillsplash narrowed his gaze on the horde of predators, wondering which would be the victor. He'd rather the dog win; fighting so many rats would be troublesome.

Smokeypaw exchanged glances with Briarpaw as one of the warriors on patrol with them spoke. He hadn't met her before. Her name was Lily... something. So far, he didn't know if he was impressed. His ears flattened with irritation. He'd never question a superior, but he wasn't above an eye-roll or two. Perhaps he and Briarpaw should've been the ones leading the patrol; his sister certainly seemed to have more sense than some warriors. He often found himself wondering why Leopardstar wouldn't give them their warrior names. Holding them back would not be doing them any favors.
His nose wrinkled as he watched the sorry fight. The stench of Carrionplace was one he wasn't used to. ShadowClan cats didn't make a habit of eating trash - not like these nasty, flea-ridden creatures. Things weren't looking great for the dog, but Smokeypaw didn't feel any pity for it for a second. "Imagine being an apex predator and being taken down by a bunch of rats." He murmured to Briarpaw, lip curling in disgust. This was one of those dogs the entire forest was so afraid of? So far, he wasn't very impressed.

If you want to allow your character to remain still and wait for the battle to conclude between the predators, just post "skipping" if you're lazy to write out a whole post for that <3
