All StarClanners’ eyes were bright, but Badgerstar’s had been dimming, if only a little. Now they shone as if no cat’s claws had touched him. He was…stronger? Why was he stronger? For the first time, Raventail turned away from his opponent to look over the rest of the battlefield. Though the cats who were still standing fought twice as furiously as before, the crowd had thinned. Oakstar lay still, bleeding from deep, deep wounds in his neck. His eyes found Ivystar and Flintstar, WindClan’s allies in the rebellion—both dead, never to return. The forest’s true leaders had fallen. Only the stars remained.

Faced with proof like that, Raventail couldn’t deny the truth in Badgerstar's words, but they were in too deep to turn back. A hopeless fight was still a fight. Surrender meant wasting every life the Righteous Few had taken so far—and giving up so many others. Olivestone could lead WindClan home if she wished (though judging by how she’d been tearing strips out of Lavenderbreeze and the yowl that rang out over the clearing, he doubted she would); Raventail had to stay. ”We’ll kill you again,” he snarled, darting forward. ”As many times as it takes.” He lashed out at Badgerstar’s flank, less an attack, more an attempt to draw his attention from the apprentice who’d joined the fight. She looked terrified—not that he could blame her.

"We'll do what we can," Mothglow promised, not knowing this new cat who had come looking for aid nearly as well as the last. Dappleshine was family, whether or not they often spoke, and this warrior - WindClan's new deputy, if she recalled right, she wasn't entirely sure - was a stranger. But that meant nothing now, and it meant little before the fight - she had sworn to heal regardless of clan ties, and she had never minded forging new friendships.

Dappleshine's chest heaved as Aspenheart came to her side, and she pressed her nose to his shoulder gently, her body quivering in pain and the effort from the battle. "Thank you, Aspenheart...." Her voice shook as the tears threatened her eyes again, the sounds of battle around fading slightly as she focused on the figure in front of her. "It's okay... Thank you, for watching over her while she was under your care, Mossbloom." As she watched, she could have sworn that the wound to Vixenstar's face had gotten smaller, and did her chest just rise? In the blink of an eye, the starry leader was on her paws and Dappleshine stared at her for a few heartbeats. Was she really back? Letting loose a shriek, her claws unsheathed again as she glared at the she-cat. She would kill her again, and any times after that she needed to. Vixenstar would not be leaving this clearing without paying for her daughter's murder. Nodding to Mothglow, she launched herself back into the battle with Vixenstar with a furious hiss.

Her gray eyes shifted to Zinnia as she spoke, and her tail tip twitched in appreciation. "I'm trying to reverse what has been done, and it takes time and effort and I keep getting interrupted." A small nod of thanks was the only gesture that Zinnia received as Galestar settled again, reassured that the cats around her wouldn't attack again, her eyes glazing over once again as she refocused on her task. A surge of strength coursed through her, and her eyes refocused on the figure of Vixenstar. She hissed under her breath, her claws unsheathing to dig into the ground. Too much time had been wasted, there wasn't much more left. She had to hurry.

Minkstream gritted his teeth, bunching his muscles and writhing with all his strength as Rainstrike leaned down, her breath hot on his fur, her eyes dancing with dark mirth. No! Struggling did nothing - he was too weak from the sickness ravaging his body. He snarled impotently as her claws dug into his fur, her savage whisper echoing in his head. The gleam of her teeth danced in front of his eyes, the stifling heat of her weight above him heightening that of his own pelt as they came closer, closer.

I won't die like this.

And then suddenly, her head snapped away from him, looking at something beyond. He gasped in a breath he hadn't realized he'd missed, his mind registering the yowl that had caught her attention a moment later, followed by an ear-splitting screech. Willowpaw, Vixenpaw. He felt almost like letting out a sigh of relief, but her claws tearing lines of fire into his face took the breath from him in a hissing grunt.

She leaped back, and he twisted around into a crouch, blinking drops of blood from his eye, an incredulous snarl raising his lips at her words. "If I was left to you, I would be, you fox-hearted snake!" The look in her eyes dared him, taunted him, her posture inviting him to lash out. She wanted blood, revenge.

So did he.

He sprang forwards, his claws lashing out, ignoring the burning of his face. "It might be the beginning," He hissed.

Zinnia sat patiently, watching Galestar as well as the surrounding area, though she spared a glance to her companions. "Downpaw, Briarthorn - shouldn't you join the real fight? I'll keep my word and defend Galestar, but the fight is far from over. She isn't a threat - they are," she murmured, keeping her voice low and gesturing to the rest of the clearing. She was trying to communicate quietly, to avoid any further distractions.

In fact, she felt a lingering temptation to return to the fight now, but she'd already promised to defend the starlit leader. Well, there was that - but there was also the fact that she couldn't be sure Downpaw and Briarthorn wouldn't attack as soon as her back was turned. She would like to think better of them, certainly, but they both concerned her at times; and it wasn't like their anger wasn't justified in many ways.

She nodded and took a deep breath to ready herself, giving a quick thanks to Aspenheart, Mothglow and Mossbloom before she glanced around and found another opponent to throw herself at. She charged at the speed that only WindClan cats possessed, and tackled another of the starry traitors.

Briarthorn looked from Zinnia to Galestar and then to the battle raging around him. He hesitated a moment before turning away from Zinnia. "Fine!" he said, running into the battle. He saw that his apprentice, after dispatching the horrible Lavinderbreeze, was in another battle. He decided to help her out this time. Once he reached them, Briarthorn reared up on his hind legs and slashed Liondawn on the side as hard as he could.
