Spiderdance lifted his nose to the air, scents of prey and flowers gracing his palette. He always loved the flower fields, and now that they were in the heart of Newleaf with Greenleaf on its way, the flowers were in full bloom and at their most gorgeous! He loved to run up and down the plains or roll around in the flowers until he was coated in pollen and petals like a happy bee. However, sometimes he had to be serious. The clan needed to be fed after all with all the new kits and apprentices. He could roll in the flowers later.
He glanced behind him to the rest of the patrol. "The scent of rabbit is strong here, so I think this is a good spot." He chirped, a wide smile on his face. Flowers were not the only thing flourishing in Newleaf. Prey was too! And so were other predators. They'd have to keep their eyes sharp for them, but he hadn't seen anything dangerous in the fields for a while. He was sure they'd be fine.
Breaking off from the group, Spiderdance slinked through the long grasses and flower buds, following the trail of a young rabbit ahead. Crouched low to the ground, careful steps brought him slowly closer to his target. The rabbit was fixated on a patch of clover, unaware of the lanky black tom behind it until Spiderdance pounced.
His teeth were around its throat before it could squeak, a quick shake of his head ensuring it couldn't warn the rest of the warren. With a bright grin, he pranced back to the rendezvous to bury his prey.
Spiderdance tried to catch a rabbit! He was successful!
Open to cats looking to try the new battle system! Feel free to hunt in your first post if you'd like, but after about a week I'll summon a predator. The type/number will depend on how many cats join.

Quickpaw was super excited to be in the hunting patrol; she was even walking with a skip in her step. She doesn't get to hunt in a group very often, and it's always fun when she does get to do it.
Spiderdance was the one to lead the patrol, which had her all sorts of curious. She didn't know a whole lot about the tom, but he seemed rather friendly, a fun lover like herself. Perhaps she could get to know him during the patrol...after they catch some prey, of course!
The striped apprentice's mouth watered at the mere mention of rabbits. Yum! They were so yummy, one of her favorite prey!
Quick nodded as they decided to split up at that spot. "Mkay! Lets do our best!" she chirped before heading in a random direction some ways away from the others. She didn't want to mess up any of her clanmates' hunts. That'd be bad!
After a while of walking, the young apprentice scented a rabbit not too far from her. Her ears perked up and her whiskers twitched in delight. Bingo!
She crept up behind it, doing her best to keep her pawsteps light. Those big ole rabbit ears were even more sensitive than her own! She couldn't mess up, or it would be much harder to catch it.
Becoming a little too impatient to keep up her sneaking, the gangly molly decided to just wing it and used her long limbs to propel herself farther.
Feeling the soft rabbit's fur under her claws, the young she-cat hurried to deliver a killing bit. Success! She wanted to prance around in glee. This was a pretty hefty bunny, and she was sooo proud of it! She hoped the others would be proud of her catch as well!
Picking up her rabbit, Quickpaw hurried back to the meeting spot with her tail high. She wondered if everyone had caught something already.

Run Rabbit, Run
Creampaw streaked after a rabbit, leaving the rest of her patrolmates behind. Spiderdance had yapped far too much, even if he had only really spoken a few sentences. His voice was just so annoying that it had already got to her. The cream-and-white she-cat let out a yowl as she neared her prey, relishing in the fear-scent the pathetic creature left in it's wake. Until a loud honk caught her attention instead. She stopped her chase, completely forgetting her chase as her gaze landed on the soft feathery coat of a goose. Oh she wanted to line her nest with that. It was almost as soft as her fur! With a delighted shriek, she flung herself at the goose, claws ripping at the bird with a bloodthirsty grin.
Creampaw used Claw, dealing 5dmg at the cost of 5EP Surprise Attack is in action, dealing an additional 3dmg

The horrid honk of a goose caught Spiderdance's attention, quickly followed by a shriek. His hunt was completely abandoned as he raced through the tall grass and caught sight of Creampaw atop the waterfowl and viciously tipping into its feathers. Did she instigate it? She looked far too thrilled about her predicament to be an apprentice caught off guard by an angry bird.
He didn't take too long to assess the situation though. Regardless, an apprentice had drawn the ire of a goose, possibly the worst creature in the moor besides foxes and loose dogs released by twolegs. Where was Quickpaw though? Hopefully out of danger.
The lanky tom lept forward, barreling the large bird over and trying to pin its wings against the ground. "Are you ok?" He glanced Creampaw over. "Did it bite you? Have you seen Quickpaw? Did you see any other geese?" Questions streamed from him as the goose below hissed and floundered.
Spiderdance used Leap and Hold, costing 15 EP and dealing 5 Damage! The Goose is pinned for 2 turns!
