Golden amber light flooded the white fields that Windclan called home. The sun slowly casting the last of its light on the rolling moor as it was close to finishing it's venture across the sky. A group of cats speckled a section of the moor, as they hunted among the snow and grass looking for anything they could get their paws on in this leaf-bare. A leader and his apprentices.
Tigerstar trudged through the blanket of snow, stepping carefully and as quietly as he could to not disturb the rabbit his green eyes were locked in on. The snow was deep, but not deep enough to keep Windclan from doing what they did best which was run. It was a little awkward but they would make do. They needed the food anyhow. As the leader crept closer, eventually it came to that delicate moment. The moment between stalking and the chase. A heartbeat of a moment as predator or prey decides what comes next, and it seemed the prey made the move this time.
The white rabbit kicked up snow, taking off to escape the striped tom, but Tigerstar followed shortly after. Paws sinking in the cold snow from the force of his strides. He would catch this. He needed to. Eventually the tall leader managed to snag the rabbit, sending the pair down into the snow. In that moment all it took was a bite and the rabbit was dead, and Windclan had another piece of prey to eat.

It had been a few sunrises and it still didn't feel real. Eveningmoon. She kept repeating the name to herself - sometimes in her head, sometimes out loud to see how it felt on her tongue when she was on her own. The joy she felt when a Clanmate called out to her with her new name - the pride she had felt when Tigerstar had invited her out to join him and a few others on a patrol.
Of course, beneath it all was a lingering doubt - that she didn't deserve her name. She wasn't sure if she could fight if she was called to do so but she was determined to try to prove herself what other ways she could - and today that way was the hunting patrol that Tigerstar was leading. She watched as he chased after a rabbit, catching it with the trademark speed that made WindClan who they were. She wasn't sure if she could compare to him, but at long as she could bring something home - something to eat with her mother perhaps...
A flicker of brown among the white caught her eye, spotting a rabbit of her own a hill over. She dropped into a crouch as she separated from the hunting patrol to stalk towards it. With so much distance to cover, it wasn't all that unsurprising that it managed to spot her but by the time it had, it was far too late. The warrior broke into a sprint the same heartbeat the rabbit did - and managed to close the gap quicker as she tackled the rabbit. It was a brief scuffle but she managed to avoid its claws and powerful kicks before she killed it.
She stumbled back, exhausted from the fight as a flicker of regret struck through her. She didn't like it, killing prey - mostly those that nearly rivaled her in side but she had come to accept that it... That it was how things had to work there - there was no other options. Prey had to die if they were going to eat, but at least she could thank StarClan for the sacrifice the prey was making on their behalf but it felt so different when she put out the idea of simply fighting other cats. There was never a need there - there would never be a reason for blood to have to be shed when talking could do. It...
It was odd, she acknowledged. To be willing to kill prey, in some sense, but not raise a paw against another cat - she wasn't even sure if she could fight a...A predator if one showed up. Maybe...Maybe she was just a coward and was content with fights she could win...She wasn't sure. She shook her head, chasing away the thoughts as she started to drag the rabbit back towards the patrol...Even if it would take a bit with her frailer size.
Eveningmoon attempted to catch a rabbit and succeeded, costing 5 stamina.

You can’t fix the past, but you can change the future.
Unfortunately, Sootstorm was not blessed with normal prey like the rest of his patrol. While his clanmates went after rabbits, he crashed head-first into a large feathered creatured that immediately let him know of it's displeasure with a particularly large sqwuak. The deputy backed away quickly, blinking at the goose that seemed to have appeared from thin air. Mouse-dung! He knew not everyone on the patrol enjoyed fighting, so he'd better finish it quickly. He attempted to be as silent as possible(not that he succeeded, but its the thought that counts) when hurling himself at the bird, claws flashing at the speed of lightning(something he knew all too well) over the bird's face.
Sootstorm used Jumping Strike, dealing 10(+3)dmg and -7SP
Sootstorm 70 HP / 153 SP(-7)
Goose 42 HP(-13) / 170 SP

All Hail WindClan's Resident Libra
pantherpounce
I don't live because I can't die, but I'm chained to something.
Pantherpounce had been a few fox-lengths away from Sootstorm with his eyes locked on a hare that he intended to take back to camp later that day to feed the queens and kits, but his hunting instincts turned to battle instincts as he heard the shuffling of pawsteps and heavy beating of wings that must have come from something far too big to be a bird of prey. The hare seemed to also sense the sudden noise considering the speed at which it bounded off into the distance. The tom lifted his head and followed the strange scent before both the goose and Sootstorm came in his sight. He decided to help the deputy finish it off and took the creature by surprise by sneaking up behind it and violently yanking on its tail feathers.
pantherpounce used "tail yank" on goose, dealing 8 damage and costing 15 stamina. goose is stunned for one (1) turn!

Rapidpaw ran to catch up with the patrol. She had overlept and now was late. She gave an apologetic glance to Tigerstar her mentor and vowed to not do that again.
She watched as her mentor took down a rabbit followed soon after by Eveningmoon also scoring a rabbit. She blinked amazed at how effective they both were. She always prefered hunting as opposed to sparring and hoped that she could show her improvement.
Dad was here and getting to show him that she could catch stuff too was important to her.
She was about to go off looking for her own rabbit when dad was running up to and attacking a strange looking bird. Right behind him followed Pantherpounce. She was forever grateful for Pantherpounce being able to get in with the fight.
She swallowed a gulp down and glanced at the bird predator, she was like eveningmoon, she had hoped not to fight if avoidable but she would not let dad get hurt here Pantherpounce either!
She ran at the bird and clawed at it
Rapidpaw uses front paw strike costing 7 sp and dealing the goose 5 damage
pantherpounce hp - 40/40 sp - 85/100
goose (stunned) hp - 28/55 (-6) sp - 170/170
sootstorm hp - 70/70 sp - 153/160
Rapidpaw hp - 20 / 20 sp - 53 / 60 (-7)

It didn't take long before chaos had found the patrol, at first the leader thought it would stop with Rapidpaw being slightly late but as he looked over to the others he realized how wrong he was.. A goose had managed to get right in the deputy's way, causing a commotion. Sootstorm, Pantherpounce, and Rapidpaw were right on top of it already, but he couldn't be risking any damage to any of his clan. Especially not in leaf-bare. Quickly the tall striped tom made his way over to the winged beast before lashing out at it with quick paws.
Tigerstar used Front Paw Strike and Swift Strike dealing 17(+2) damage, -17 SP. Star Striker is active. Moor Runner is active.
