| Tigerdance had his own issues lately but he wasn't going to let it stop him from doing his regular duties. The tall striped tom jumped up on the Tall Rock, his jump a little shaky due to his own weakness, but he stood tall, glad that the clan hadn't gathered yet to notice that. | Eveningkit peered from the entrance of the nursery, tail curled tightly against her side as Tigerdance's call echoed across the camp. She knew what it was for but there was a nervousness in her - would she be a good apprentice? She had heard murmurs among the warriors from the few times she ventured from the nursery - something was happening but it was going over her head. She was a kit, not to worry...
She shook her head with a gentle huff, taking in a deep breath as she stepped from the nursery's entrance, making her way to the gathering crowd. I-If something was happening, then she wanted to help! She...She couldn't make things worse, could she? | Out of the corner of his eye, the deputy spotted said kit that was meant to be named apprentice. She looked nervous, or apprehensive about something. Was it becoming an apprentice? Or did it have to do with the crowd? No matter, hopefully it would be something the kit could grow out of, or have it trained out of her.
"Today we are gathered to name an apprentice. Eveningkit please come forward." The tall tom said. Green eyes watching the crowd but keeping most of his attention on the kit. Once she had approached, he continued. "Eveningkit, you have reached the age of six moons. From this moment on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Eveningpaw. I will be your mentor. I hope to pass on everything I know to you." He let his words hang in the air for a moment before jumping down to great his new apprentice. | Eveningkit's swallowed nervously as she was called forward - her pawsteps careful but quick enough as to not hold up the ceremony that long. As the deputy went on, her eyes were fixed on her paws...Until he declared himself her mentor. W-What?!? Her head shot up to stare at him, tail puffing but she quickly curled it around her. She...She didn't feel like she deserved such an honor and it only made her pelt crawl even more but she buried that feeling as Tigerdance approached, touching her nose to his with a nervous nod.

| Happiness comes the way the wind blows
"Eveningpaw! Eveningpaw!" Sootstorm joined in with his clanmates' cheering for the newly-named apprentice. Nectarflower's litter was slowly growing up. He was already the mentor for one of them, Finchpaw, and his own mentor was to mentor Sootstorm's apprentice's kits. Weird. Windclan really was small.

Nectarflower lifted her head at Tigerdance's call, her eyes glowing with excitement. She was, perhaps, more excited than Eveningkit, who looked as though she might much rather go back to the nursery and hide. A gentle, somewhat exasperated, smile lifted the corners of the she-cat's mouth and she padded to the center of the camp to settle down and watch the ceremony. She knew what today was and still couldn't help but feel a little bittersweet just as she had when Finchpaw became an apprentice.
It was a little scary knowing that her kits would be leaving the camp for the first time to learn how to hunt and fight and survive in a world that was often pit against them. Even now that things between the clans were good, the prey was running low and every cat getting hungrier. She'd begun to forgo some meals in favor of letting the other eat, but she was still strong...for the most part. If things didn't start to get better soon though, that could easily change.
Regardless, this was a happy time - a time for celebration! As Tigerdance finished, the meeting drawing to a close, Nectarflower couldn't help but purr. Her precious kit - the apprentice to Windclan's deputy! What an honor! Sootstorm's voice rose over the din of their clanmates cheering and the tortoiseshell she-cat shot him an appreciative smile as she lifted her head to call out her daughter's new name. "Eveningpaw, Eveningpaw, Eveningpaw!" Two of her kits were apprentices now!
She hung back for a moment to allow the mentor and apprentice a bit of peace before bounding forward, running her tongue lovingly over the young apprentice's head. "I'm so proud of you!" She choked out past purrs. "Don't forget to make time for me once in a while, okay? I'll always be here for you if you need it." She smiled down at the younger she-cat, her eyes shining. Perhaps one of her kits would have the same interest in flowers as she did? She would love to share such things with them now that they were beginning to graduate to the apprentice's den.
