Honeykit's Apprentice Ceremony

He was getting used to this, ceremonies that was. He didn't know if he could ever get used to the rush of being up on the rock and everyone looking at him. It was a wonderful feeling being looked up too, especially with how much work he tries to put in, but he could reflect on that another time. He had another apprentice to name.

"Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath Tall Rock for a clan meeting!" Tigerdance said loud and clear.

Honeykit wiggled her way out of her mom's gasp. The tough grooming she had given in order for Honeykit to look nice had lasted all morning. Honeykit wondered if she even had a speck of dust on her. But, it didn't matter now. The clan was gathering, and her time to become apprentice was here. Proudly leaping forward, the kit scurried to the front of the group with hopeful, excited blue eyes gazing up at Tigerdance.

"Today we are gathered here to name another apprentice." He looked down, trying to find said kit to see that she had already approached the front. Green eyes locked onto Honeykit as he continued to speak. "Honeykit you have rached the age of six moons. From this moment on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Honeypaw. I will be your mentor. I look forward to teaching you everything I know." He figured someone as eager as her would make a wonderful apprentice, and who better to mentor her than the deputy. The tom jumped down to greet his new apprentice. "We will get started tomorrow."

Honeykit--no, Honeypaw's eyes widened. The deputy himself was mentoring her? Glee filled the newest apprentice from her nose where they touched in greeting to the end of her tail which rose high with excitement. "Tomorrow morning! I'll be up at dawn!" Or, at least, she was determined to. StarClan knows if she was actually going to sleep tonight.
