Mistwalker
“Are you listening?”
Evidently, leading patrols was something new to Mistwalker's current list of duties. More frequently, she had been charged with taking the helm. It gave her a good opportunity to allow her apprentices to socialize while still honing their skills, but it felt... odd. Talking to other clanmates still was not particularly comfortable, much less so when she was in charge. She could only imagine how her mother felt, and wished to know just how Perchstar was able to do it day in and day out. Beyond that thick fog that covered her true emotions, she could feel the pinging in her chest of anxieties. Was she doing good enough? Was she really trustworthy enough to be leading patrols? There were certainly more senior warriors than her that should have been in charge. Even Egretswoop was more worthy than she was at times.
All of that had to be crushed down, though, as a far-off sound caught her attention. Her tail went straight into the air to signal the rest of the patrol to halt as she listened. In the distance... growling. Snarling. Paws that crunched what was beneath them, regardless of the prey around.
It was only a heartbeat later that the beast appeared, and Mistwalker had to make the call. It fell on her shoulders. "DOG! Watch out!" Her call was made just hardly in time. The yowl seemed to bring the beast onto her, as its jaws came snapping right at her. She kept herself right in the line of fire-ready to protect the rest of her Clan. It didn't stop her cry of pain that came as its teeth clamped down, sending a searing pain right through her. But she had to think. Power lay in her paws. Death gripped her by the other. She had to use that power.
Her claws came unsheathed, and she scratched wildly at the dog. All while hoping, no- knowing that her clanmates would be soon piling onto the canine, too. Even if her bad leg was now screeching from the bite.
A dog has appeared! Dog used Iron Bite on Mistwalker! It dealt 22 damage and cost 30 stamina. Mistwalker used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows! She dealt 13 (8+5) damage and used 14 (7+7) stamina. Mistwalker 28 / 50 HP [-22] 106 / 120 SP [-14]

Swanpaw had been glad to go on patrol, eager for the chance to get out of camp and hone her skills. Mistwalker didn't seem particularly talkative, but that was fine. Swanpaw was-
Mistwalker's tail signal stopped the apprentice in her tracks, and then she heard the barking. The dog was upon them quickly, and without a second thought Swanpaw lunged forward with a flurry of unsheathed claws. How dare the dog attack her clanmate? She would show it just what a mistake it had made!
Swanpaw uses Desperate Blows for -7 sp, dealing -4 damage. Swanpaw uses Front Paw Strike for -7 sp, dealing -6 damage.

Scarletpaw had excitedly followed his mentor out of camp, ready for patrol; and even as the quiet older she-cat shouted a warning there was no sense of fear. Just excitement, his heart racing--
His first ever real fight. This was what he was training for, wasn't it? What he had been training for.
He leapt into the fray without a second thought, trying to remember everything he had learned so far from both his mentor and his father's lessons.
Scarletpaw used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows, dealing 10(6+4) damage and costing 14 SP!

All Hail RiverClan's Resident Pageant Queen
bubblepaw
Walk like a majestic lion, eyes glinting with so much desire.
Bubblepaw had never encountered a predator before, but she had always known that she was bound to come face to face with one someday. Out of anything that the patrol could've encountered today, she just hadn't expected a dog. The scent of it alone was enough to frighten her, but seeing it clamp its steely jaws down right on her mentor. Even if Bubblepaw wanted to turn and flee, she couldn't. The safety of her Clanmates was far too important to her. She sprang forward, her claws meeting the dog's fur.
bubblepaw used "desperate blows" + "front paw strike", dealing 10 damage and costing 14 stamina.

Hawk shriek
Nothing safe is worth the drive.
"There'll be happiness after you, but there was happiness because of you. Both of these things can be true."
Hawkshriek followed Mistwalker out to patrol, his ears on high alert and eyes sharp for movement. When a hostile growl caught the attention of their patrol group, he felt his fur stand on end. The creature was huge, charging straight at the she-cat with his jaws clamped shut on her. "Mistwalker!" He yowled, panic and concern overtaking him from the sight.
He'd face predators like geese, and strangely enough, two-legs before—but nothing was as bad as this. Raging, fierce barks, and hisses came from opposite sides, each trying to claw and bite at another in a vicious fight. Not wasting another moment to hesitate, he dove into the pile of gathering apprentices, a dog, and a bitten warrior; hoping to slay the beast before it could've inflicted damage on any of his other clanmates.
Hawkshriek used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows, dealing 13 (8+5) damage and using 14 (7+7) SP!
Dog 44/100 HP (-13) 170/200 SP

Poppyshine
Poppyshine had come alongside Mistwalker on her first lead patrol. She believed her former apprentice was more than capable, but she still wanted to make sure that she would not have any stumbling blocks, especially with several apprentices on this patrol. Therefore, she volunteered herself as Mistwalker’s warrior companion, along with Hawkshriek, for the patrol.
And as it turns out, it was a good call.
Mistwalker called out about the dog and Poppyshine’s heart seized with fear. Mistwalker already looked badly hurt and the apprentices did not hesitate to jump in to assist. Poppyshine was quick behind them, delivering several clawed rakes in hopes that they can take down the dog before it got a chance to do anything else.
“Mistwalker, are you alright?” Poppyshine called when she had jumped back.
Poppyshine used Tail Yank, dealing 10 damage and costing 15 SP!
Willowpaw had taken up more of the rear of the patrol, as they went out. She had never been on a patrol this large before and she wondered if so many cats together was going to attract undue attention. Just as she had that thought, it was like she summoned it into existence, and the dog appeared. Willopaw’s fur bristled and she watched her fellow apprentices jump in with similar attacks. It looked effective as they descended upon the beast, and so Willowpaw followed up with the same move.
Willowpaw used Front Paw Strike and Desperate Blows, dealing 10 damage and costing 14 stamina.

"Ow." That was all the molly could get out as the dog bit into her, before it was swarmed by the utter mass that was her clanmates. Thankfully, they were there to assist, but it only had the canine clamping down harder on her frame. Thankfully, the tail yank had released the force of its bite just enough for the molly to fight to claw at it just a bit more.
Dog is stunned! Mistwalker used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 stamina! Dog 10/100 HP (-8) 170/200 SP

With a whole patrol of cats attacking it, the dog seemed to be on its' last legs already, hardly fighting back. It made Swanpaw's fear dissipate as she snapped at the filthy mutt again. They would show it never to mess with Riverclan again!

Scarletpaw charged forward one last time, striking the dog with all the force his admittedly unskilled and inexperienced form could manage. Not that he would ever admit to either of those things, but it was worth acknowledging that there was definitely room to improve; if only to himself.
Still, at the end of it there was an enemy defeated; and that was also worth acknowledging. Especially when it had so brutally assaulted his mentor.
Scarletpaw used Killing Strike, dealing ∞ damage and costing 10 SP!
