It hadn't been long since he had completed his last apprentice ceremony. It was a good sign that Thunderclan was growing, despite the headaches and hiccups earlier in the year. "Let all of those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" He called out that sunhigh. The clan gathered below, but he would wait for Shrewkit to make an appearance before he began. He'd taken some time throughout the day to decide an appropriate mentor for this one, but now that he'd made up his mind he was just as eager to complete the ceremony as the kit was, more than likely.

Copperpaw bounded over to the gathering crowd, curious about why Darkspirit would be calling for another clan meeting so soon. Didn't he complete one just yesterday? Head tipped to the side, she waited for the deputy to say whatever he needed to say.

Murkyripple also found her spot among the crowd, looking towards Darkspirit with a fair bit of exhaustion in her gaze. She had an unusual sleeping pattern for a Thunderclan cat - that was for sure - but sometimes, she wished that her leadership didn't have such loud voices that managed to even rouse her from her sleep. Nevertheless, at least she got to participate in the crowd this time, wrapping her feathered tail around her paws.

A great example of how Firefly was pretending nothing was wrong was taking a seat next to her sister, Murkyripple, whose eye scar had been given by the russet warrior during a rage fueled battle. Though her own scar was thanks to a creature unrelated to ThunderClan.

Tail swishing around her paws, she looked towards Darkspirit. Perhaps someone would be getting an apprentice today?

Cedarkit, in an oddly good mood, trotted out of the nursery with a certain pep in his step. Today was the day, he was sure of it! Today was the day that Shrewkit would become an apprentice! Cedarkit had been waiting patiently since Copperpaw became an apprentice and now, he hoped it was his friends turn. Stars, he felt like there were ants in his fur.

From across the clearing, he saw Copperpaw sitting comfortably, with a confused look on her face. Oh she was in for a treat, he just knew it! Before the space beside her could be taken, Cedarkit padded over to Copperpaw, his good mood evident on his face. "Hey! Another meeting so soon, I bet its another ceremony." He meowed.

The red kit turned, looking around for any sign of Shrewkit. She must still be in the nursery, or in the middle of a mission of some sort. Wow with any luck, soon, he and Shrewkit could explore the territory together.

The tom glanced at Copperpaw, his brows drawn thoughtfully. Would she be interested in doing that too?

Annoying, so she would be quiet. Ugly, so she would be well groomed at all times. She could do that. Her entire day thus far had been dedicated to grooming her messy fur with Blazefang, this meeting would only serve to be a short break from that. Shrewkit padded toward the crowd, finding a spot to sit just outside the main mass of cats. Her eyes did not wander the crowd in search of Copperpaw, instead they were planted on her own chest and the fur that was still sticking up slightly. The kit began licking furiously at the errant patch of fur trying to smooth it down before anyone else noticed it.

For this one, he hoped he chose a good pairing. He called out in a strong voice: "Shrewkit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From today until the day you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Shrewpaw. Firefly will be your mentor."

He knew Firefly had certain negative feelings about him, but Darkspirit wanted to show her he had no hard feelings towards her at all. He trusted her with this apprentice. And with that, the meeting was concluded.

This wasn't expected, really. She hadn't been very kind to ThunderClan's deputy when she found out he was SkyClan blood... Now she would agree she was a hypocrite should she ever judge a cat by their bloodline again. One day, she hoped to have a talk with Darkspirit and apologize.

Firefly nodded to Darkspirit in silent 'thanks' for allowing her this opportunity. Turning her scarred face to Shrewpaw she mewed, "I'll try to go easy on you."
