May Gathering 2023

The first to enter the clearing was Perchstar, who tried not to allow her shoulders to shake as the familiar sight washed over her. It had only been one moon ago that she'd been worried about never seeing this place again. But here she was, looking only slightly the worse for wear, expression as calm as ever. Of course, this was the first Gathering that she was leaving her kits in the nursery... well, two of them, anyway. Willowpaw and Wrenpaw would likely be attending. But the Gathering would be normal. She was determined to not let anything amiss happen, at least not on her end. She would be back, announce that RiverClan was strong, and that was that. Though Poppyshine had not necessarily done wrong when she informed the other Clans of Perchstar's missing status, it would improve the leader's peace of mind significantly once she put any potential rumors of weakness to rest.

Mottlestar led Thunderclan to be next into the clearing. As she saw a familiar silver-and-white pelt, she couldn't help but release a breath of relief. She had been worried about the molly, and to see her back already was a great relief. However, more anxieties pricked at her paws. Thoughts of the last moon swirled her mind in a furious torrent, but those would be shoved down for now. Giving Darkspirit a nod behind her, the tortoiseshell lept atop the rock, taking her position. "Perchstar, I'm glad to see you've returned to the forest. W- I missed you." She greeted warmly, dipping her head to the other leader.

Goldenfern followed behind Mottledstar as the Thunderclan patrol entered the clearing. It seems that only Riverclan had arrived so far. The golden tabby seperated from her clanmates and found a shady spot near some ferns to sit. Hopefully this Gathering would be ineventful, though chances are it wouldn't.

Sunfire felt a thrill run through him as he entered the clearing. It would be his first Gathering as a warrior. The tom gave Goldenfern a smile as he went off to the crowd of Riverclan warriors. Maybe he could meet a new friend...

Honeypaw padded out into the clearing, glancing around. It was her first gathering! She was so excited and bounded around the clearing happily. She wandered around, hoping she could make friends with another cat, hopefully from another clan.

Oakpaw walked with the rest of the apprentices into the clearing. The young was recently made an apprentice so he probably was the youngest of the bunch. He didn't care that much since his chubby build made him look bigger. The red-furred Riverclan cat sat among his clan's youngest, not really interested in seeking much of a conversation with other clans. Oakpaw was just here because he had to.

Nightstar padded in with Shadowclan close behind him. His injuries finally healed enough that they didn't bother him much on the regular, though the night terrors hardly ceased. Still, he held himself as he always did and made his way swiftly to the great rock, launching himself up with grace before sitting himself next to Perchstar. "Riverclan's strength returns with the presence of their fearless leader." Nightstar stated to the older she-cat before he turned his attention back to the growing collection of clan cats below them.

Dawnpaw happily bounded into the clearing with Tawnyshadow next to her. Wow! Her very first gathering! The silver tortoiseshell gave an unsuccessful attempt to contain the excitement coursing through her as her bushy tail was swishing and amber eyes shining bright with excitement ruined her supposed 'serious' poise. She hoped she could make new friends from other clans during this gathering! She wanted to interact with other cats that were not from Shadowclan.

Tawnyshadow slid into the clearing with the rest of her clanmates behind her. It would be her first Gathering as a warrior. In her last Gathering, she had not met any cat not from Shadowclan. To be honest, she didn't want to this time either, but it would show a bad image of Shadowclan to the other clans, especially to the younger warriors.

She turned to Beetelpaw and Dawnpaw. "Ask around other clans and find out what you can, but do not tell anything to anyone, not even if they ask about it, understood?" She demanded. After the two apprentices had acknowledged her warning, Tawnyshadow stalked off and found a quiet spot to sit and watch the show.

Murkyripple had followed not too far behind Thunderclan's deputy, having taken a bit of an interest in the tom and his mannerisms. Despite all of that, she had given him as much space as he was due, creating the true line of Thunderclan warriors that would enter the clearing. She took a spot within the crowd, looking with feigned curiosity at the rest of the clans that were gathering. If they wished to interact, that would be just fine, but she had no reason to do so otherwise.

Murkyripple is open for discussion, even if she seems a little cranky.

Marigoldmask followed within the midst of Skyclan's ever-growing pack of warriors, happy paws letting the fluffy molly practically skip her way into the clearing. She took a spot towards the middle, allowing anyone who seemed even mildly interested in interacting to be able to take the chance to say hi to the fluffy molly. She was in good spirits this evening, and little would damper those.

Marigoldmask is open to talk! And will adopt you as her friend the moment you do.

egretpaw “is it really so wrong to dream?” Egretpaw found herself sticking painfully close to the shadow of her mentor. Something about the clearing, about all of the sounds already billowing made her sick to her stomach. She didn't want to talk to anybody, and if she'd had her choice, she would have preferred to practically cling under the legs of her adopted mother. Her ears pinned back in near-terror as it was all she could do to at least filter out some of what was going on around her, even if she otherwise felt shame at having to cling to the tom who seemed much more comfortable than she was. Hopefully, he wouldn't reprimand her for it. Or for her silence. Her tongue felt practically covered in tufts of her own fluff, and her chest rose and fell with a rapid panic that was becoming harder and harder to stifle with each step. Had it not been for the fear of removing herself from Rowansong's side, she would've been stuck firmy at the entrance to the clearing. Kitespring nervously padded into the gathering with the rest of RiverClan. Honestly, she didn't think that any of the other clans would want to take advantage of RiverClan anymore - now that there wasn't anything to take advantage of - so there really wasn't that much to worry about. Still... she was just here to attend and listen to the clan news firsthand, not to mingle with the other cats.

Rookfire grinned as he padded into the Gathering again. He loved the excitement of Gatherings, especially the ability to talk with other cats from other clans. It was always what drove him to the Gathering, the opportunity to talk with other cats.

Noticing a young tom near ThunderClan's side of the Gathering, the black tuxedo padded towards him. "Hey, how's it going?" he said, smiling at him. "I'm Rookfire, one of ShadowClan's warriors. What's your name?" He felt that telling the tom his name would be helpful to at least break the ice, which was why the black tuxedo chose to speak to him.

Gatherings were supposed to be about meeting other cats, right?

Poppypaw wandered into the Gathering once more, staying close to his father's side. Even though Rookfire had an exceptional amount of trust in the young tom - a trust that he couldn't help but feel was misplaced - the young tom still felt off. As Rookfire eventually split from him, Poppypaw paused. He wanted to meet someone, but he also felt... terrified.

His mom would want him to meet others because of how helpful they might be. His dad would say that choosing to spend time was alright, but that it might be cool to meet cats that he could care about. If there was one thing they seemed to both agree on, it was that seeing others was good. So Poppypaw pushed forward, searching for a cat to talk with.

Noticing a ThunderClan apprentice bounding to and fro, the young tom anxiously padded up to her. "...Hey." His true voice came out unexpectedly, causing him to worry that something was wrong. Hearing his father introduce himself in the background noise, Poppypaw followed suit. "Um... My name's Poppypaw, and I'm one of ShadowClan's w- er, apprentices." That was an embarrassing slip-up. "What's your name?"

Ambersun really didn't have that much trust in the other clans, to be honest.

Now, many of her clanmates would probably disagree on that matter, due to her seemingly very quick acceptance of Silverwing into SkyClan. But that was more of trusting Birdstar's judgement than trusting the word of Silverwing directly, and the new SkyClan warrior seemed more than ready to help SkyClan, anyways.

She was more wary of the cats who were currently living in the other clans. They had motives that didn't always align with theirs, and she was less than excited to meet with them. Gazing around the other four clans, she noticed a face that she hoped to never see again.

Murkypaw.

Due to the sheer amount of time that passed, she was probably a warrior by now (unless her training went horridly awry, which Ambersun hoped was in fact true). She seemed to be in an annoyed mood, so Ambersun decided to stay in SkyClan's corner instead of moving around. She wasn't going to be the cat who started a fight in the middle of the Gathering.

A black-and-white tom padded up to him and introduced himself. Sunfire flicked his tail happily. This tom seemed friendly enough. "Hello, Rookfire! I'm Sunfire of Thunderclan. You might know me as Sunpaw-- I just received my name," He introduced himself, not even hiding the fact that he was bragging about his new name.

Honeypaw:
Bouncing around, Honeypaw was starting to get bored. Glancing everywhere, she noticed that Shadowclan was entering the clearing already. Glancing at the group of cats, she noticed there was the black tuxedo and another smaller tom sticking close to the larger cat's side. Not long after the small tom seperated himself from the larger cat and padded over to him.

"Hello! My name's Honeypaw! I'm an apprentice from Thunderclan!" Honeypaw mewed enthusiastically in response to Poppypaw. "Do you want to be friends?" Honeypaw added happily. The first cat she met in the gathering that was from another clan! How interesting!

Dawnpaw:
Dawnpaw was just sticking with Tawnyshadow when the she-cat warned Beetlepaw and her to not tell other clans much. Then Dawnpaw watched the silhouette of her adoptive mother stalk away to somewhere else. Oh well, she was on her own now that the she cat went somewhere. Dawnpaw padded around the clearing, hoping to find a cat from another clan to talk to.

Noticing a somewhat happy and fluffy skyclan warrior in the middle of the clearing, Dawnpaw thought that the warrior seemed friendly enough. The silver tortoiseshell bounded over to the molly, and shyly tried to start a conversation with the she-cat. "Hello... My name's Dawnpaw, an apprentice of Shadowclan." The excited apprentice introduced herself. "What's your name?"
