A promise of freedom had been made to the Clans, the shades of lost loved ones offering them freedom from their torment. The entire forest seemed to bristle against the news; even though the prophecy was held in secrecy, passed only in whispers, every creature could sense the impending change. Bitterly, sacrifices had been chosen to usher in the return of their ancestors; and such martyrs were now stationed at the mouth of camp. Under the light of the full moon, everything was bright and silent.
Suddenly, as the moon neared its peak, the sky erupted in a flash. Seeming to rise out of Highstones itself, streaks of light tore across the night sky, shooting over the territories in a glorious blaze. And in that wake, stars started to fill the sky: slowly, at first, and then all at once the blanket of darkness the Clans had grown used to was dotted with pinpricks of light.
StarClan was returning. There would be pain no longer.
There will be a little bit of time for the clans to interact one last time with those chosen to be sacrifices before the fighting begins.
StarClan is not here yet, nor are the stars back yet. Additionally, unless your cat was told, they do not yet know about the sacrifices.
Once the fighting begins Medicine Cats with the appropriate rank will give their allies a Defending Buff. Please keep that in mind once the fighting starts!

Atalante stretched, blearily exiting the warrior's den with a yawn. She'd all but forgotten that tonight was the full moon, not that the full moon seemed to truly matter with Klaus' dead pets roaming camp. She stared up at the sky for a moment, then her gaze turned, and Atalante sat outside the den, lifting a paw and wearily running it over her face.

Fawnshine's eyes lingered on Atalante's figure as she stepped outside the den. The truth of her half-siblings was known to her now — but she dared not ask about it yet, especially to any cat else other than Dovefrost or Stoatstar — In the future, that is. She needed to find them privately first. Paws leading herself to the warrior, she offered a small smile in greeting, setting herself next to her. "I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you. Do you?"
Another moon of what was supposed to be prosperity. Another moon of darkness. Seated by the fresh-kill pile was Appledapple, absentmindedly looking at the prey she'd caught and wondering whether she should eat again before going to sleep. However, cats were beginning to gather in the middle of camp, talking amongst themselves quietly. Right... the full moon. Her ear flicked irritably. Why did they keep doing this tradition if there was no official Gathering? What was the point? Last time, Stoatstar had broken down from all his grief and pain. She had done her best to help him... but since then, it seemed he had only gotten worse. Where was he, anyway? Blinking to clear the sleepiness from her eyes, she began looking around for the leader.
She hadn't expected to be approached, but perhaps it shouldn't have been as much of a surprise as it was now that Fawnshine knew the truth. Atalante glanced up at the young medicine cat as she asked to sit with her, "Oh, sure." Atalante replied, offering her half-sister a small smile. She wondered if Fawnshine had brought the information she'd shared with her to any of her other siblings, but was hesitant to ask. She didn't want to stir up possible drama, not tonight, at least.
Dovefrost had pulled himself out of his den, green eyes flicking around the camp as he settled just outside of his den. Tonight was the full moon.. Would Starclan try something now? He knew that something was coming soon. Just how soon? Maybe they would get some answers tonight. He could only hope.
Starlingflare gave off a big yawn as he stretched in his spot near the entrance of the camp. He had settled there for the evening as the last stretches of sunlight filled the camp, and took a small nap. While his rest wasn't the best, it was better than nothing and now he was awake enough to enjoy the clan gathering for the full moon. Hopefully this one would go better than the last one.
Cherrycloud slipped out of the warrior's den and into the clearing. It would normally be a gathering tonight, but instead, it would just be another clan meeting. The feathers carefully woven into her fur shined under the moon's light. She walked over to a secluded spot and licked her paw, slowly drawing it over her ear. She was glad for the peace of it, but not quite adverse to company.
Comfreypaw quietly groomed herself under the moonlight. She could only think about the prophecy. A bit of her wanted to doubt its credibility. The whispers spreading from one to the other hadn't been too clear. Maybe there was nothing to worry about. But from the snippets and bits she gathered she could glean one main thing: Cats from Thunderclan needed to sacrifice themself in order to bring back Starclan. She watched the moon, weighing her options. I could do it. I would do it. I'd do that for Thunderclan. I'd do it for my clanmates. For my leader, my friends, and my siblings.
Her tail flicked across her paws. Was anyone else thinking of doing it? She looked around the camp, studying. An idea caused her heart to quicken. Would my friends and family sacrifice themselves? Can I stop them? Her stomach dropped. I don't want anyone to go. I have to convince them.
The black molly sought out Morningsun first, though not entirely sure why. He was one of the nicest cats she knew, so what if he had the same idea she did? Comfreypaw searched through the gathering crowd. Her steps were anxious, but determined to find her friend quickly. She had to know if he was planning something dreadful.
The travel from the Abandoned Barn was not really a long one, but the two cats had to take many deviations and alternative paths to avoid the Dark Forest's scouts. But it was all worth it when the scent of her home reached her nostrils. They were close to arriving at the camp's walls but now, more than ever, they had to be careful. The moon was already high and it was most likely that their ghostly invaders were making sure no cat tried to do anything funny during the Gathering, which mean fewer patrols outside the camp but more security inside it. The young warrior had thought beforehand about this predicament and in turn, she had hidden her scent in mud and leaves, mimicking the smell of the woods. With a flick of her tail, the she-cat instructed her sibling to leave their bush hideout to rush to the camp's walls. Whispering, she mewed to Rainpaw: "We are going to hide in these walls of bushes and listen... Avoid the thorns the best you can." As silently as she could, the red and grey she-cat entered the wall of leaves and branches. A thorn almost caught her eye but at last, she was settled and hidden inside the plant, her hazel eyes camouflaged with the leaves.
Cinderflame is currently hidden with Rainpaw and is unable to talk for now.

Darkpaw sat beside the entrance to the apprentice's den, looking just as broody as ever. He couldn't sleep... again. His claws kneaded deeply into the earth below his feet and his brow furrowed. Clearly, the apprentice's mind was in some other place beyond Thunderclan camp...

Morningsun settled furthest into the mouth of the camp. His green gaze settled on the moon.
The stars were still not there. The warrior didn't remember the last time he saw them, having been simply a kit at the time. How many other people would live their lives without them? How many more would live under the paws of these shadowy cats that claim to have their best interests in mind?
Warriors and leaders seemed more than on edge. It was his responsibility to help where he could. That was the warrior code. Well, maybe not. But it was a code he followed. Morningsun's only regret was that he wouldn't be able to help more when he crossed the threshold between living and the dead.
Gingerly, he ducked his head to brush his thick pelt out. Would it matter soon? No, but he had never met StarClan before. He might as well look nice. Right?
She soon found his light pelt resting at the edge of camp, watching the moon and grooming just as she was moments ago. Comfreypaw wondered if that meant anything. Swiftly, she laid down right next to him. What do I say? she fretted. Struggling to gather any thoughts, she simply greeted him.
"H-.. Hey Morningsun," she meowed, her voice tense. The molly's tail shifted back and forth. She tried to smile, "What are you thinking about?"

Morningsun blinked, looking up from his work. "To be honest, I'm just worried about what I'm leaving behind." He lifted his head to wrap a tail around his paws. "I would like nothing more than to continue to help around ThunderClan, but--" The warrior trailed off, gaze returning to the full moon. "The greatest help I can do is this."
Her breath was still for a moment. So he really is going to. She examined her paws silently, and felt the shallow rise and fall of her chest. Imagining Morningsun gone felt like thorns around her neck. Slowly, she looked over to the tom.
"You don't have to go," she said softly, "You're important to Thunderclan."
And you're important to me.
Comfreypaw turned to face the sky again. If the prophecy was fulfilled, then the stars would return. The Dark Forest would be gone and Thunderclan could live peacefully again. She wanted that for Morningsun. "Let me do it instead."
The tense air in camp was palpable, settling thick and uncomfortable on his pelt. Subconsciously, Eveningpaw shook his short fur out, his face screwed up in a frown. There was a full moon tonight, but no Gathering, no StarClan, only the ever-more claustrophobic camp and ThunderClan's lovely guests. The dark tom sighed heavily and padded out of the apprentices' den, too restless to sleep at the moment. Cats were already slowly gathering before the Highrock, a Clan meeting of sorts, where they could all sit in their despair together.
As he was exiting the den, he spotted Darkpaw sitting alone, and Comfreypaw not too far off, speaking with Morningsun. It seemed as if their conversation was rather personal, so Eveningpaw instead focused his attention on his brother. He wandered over to his mismatched sibling and took a seat beside him, saying nothing at first. When the silence became uncomfortable enough, he turned his head to look at him, mewing, "You look like you feel how I feel. Maybe even worse. If you--..." Eveningpaw scowled to himself. They didn't particularly have this kind of relationship, and he shuffled his paws awkwardly. "If you want to, y'know, talk about anything...I'm here." Giving a dark chuckle, he bumped his shoulder with his brother's and rolled his eyes at himself. "Not to be all sappy or anything. Just...I don't know. You just look like you need someone to talk to." He fell silent, gazing out across camp.
